Her Orb of Deception passes through minions and can poke you through your turrets, her damage is also really hard to deal with as she has true damage.
Akali
She may have burst but you out range her. Zone her from farming and use take Barrier instead of Ignite if you aren't too confident. Get Zhonya's Hourglass and she's going to be useless.
Anivia
You can destroy her pre 6 but she can stall after. Her powerful point-and-clicks and tankyness form Rod of Ages can be a pain.
Annie
You can poke her down in the laning phase, and your teamfighting are similar. Although take Cleanse or Barrier just in case.
Azir
He can easily clear your turrets early but is extremely squishy, even to the point of you being able to remove over half of his health with a single rocket bunch.
Brand
Your turrets act as catalysts for his Conflagration and Pyroclasm. He also destroys in the laning phase and is very tanky. Teamfighting is impossible against him and most of your team will die before they contribute anything.
Cho'Gath
His passive sustain is very strong and can deal plenty of damage even if he's building off-tank or full tank. The most effective tactic against him would be taking Barrier and using a Rylai's Crystal Scepter/Liandre's Torment combo.
Cassiopeia
Your mana costs are much lower than her's in the laning phase, and you can instantly kill her while she ults mid to late game.
Diana
Diana is melee, so earlygame it's very easy to zone her and prevent her from farming. Her burst can be largely negated with Zhonya's Hourglass and her teamfight utility is a lot less than yours.
Ekko
Ekko is melee with a gap-closer and at times two. However it is extremely easy to zone him from farming and if you space your turrets out he can't stun more than one at a time. If he goes in just stun him and burst him down.
Fizz
Fizz is one of the melees who is actually a threat. He can be poked down easily in the laning phase but his power to farm under tower and general capability to get away makes him hard to kill. Zhonya's Hourglass is very helpful at negating his burst but his ability to take out carries in teamfights is very hard to deal with.
Karma
Karma has powerful poke but is not a large threat. Her teamfighting is not as capable as yours and you can easily burst her down.
Karthus
Your wave clear is faster than his and you can easily kill him early. His teamfighting is either lackluster or overwhelming depending. Use Zhonya's Hourglass to negate his ult and work from there.
Galio
He stacks magic resist and can heal from your turrets; but since Heimerdinger is one of the few mages who could get a Void Staff first-item without maga issues you should be alright.
Heimerdinger
A mirror-lane Heimerdinger all depends on who can prevent the other from farming and poke each other down.
Katarina
Zone her from farming and poke her down. Katarina's Teamfighting damage may be above yours but with enough lockdown she can be easily killed.
Kassadin
You have extreme early dominance over him and is only effective way of damaging you requires him to be within melee range of you, which means taking multiple shots and lasers.
Kayle
Kayle may be rather efficient at removing your turrets but most of her farming is done melee and she has high early mana costs. You may be able to burst her when her ult is down or catch her off-guard.
Kennen
His ult requires him to be within close range of his targets and he is also squishy. He may build Zhonya's Hourglass to counter this but when he does either place down your ult turret or stun his team as they follow up.
Kog'Maw
He's somewhat annoying earlygame and lategame you can remove more than half his health bar with a single well-placed rocket.
LeBlanc
Build Zhonya's Hourglass to counter her burst and prevent her from farming in the laning phase. Her ability to burst down your carries is a large problem in teamfights but after that she's useless.
Lissandra
She may kill your turrets but she's rather squishy early and you have better teamfighting utility than her stun-wise.
Lulu
Lulu is annoying with a lot of utility, but if she is locked-down for an extended duration she can be easily killed.
Lux
Lux las high burst with a lot of poke. She does have an early mana issue that can be taken advantaged of and her teamfighting does not have as much CC as you.
Malzahar
He gains mana from your turrets and have strong DOTs that will chunk you bit-by-bit.
Morgana
She may have a magic shield but she's still squishy. If she goes in kill her before she can have a successful ult and setup your turrets around her if she used Zhonya's Hourglass.
Nidalee
Nidalee has some one-shot capabilities but if she lands a spear use Zhonya's Hourglass active and burst her down.
Orianna
You are somewhat dominant in the laning phase but hes teamfighting utility far exceeds yours and can end them instantly.
Ryze
You outrange his kit and a simple Morellonomicon will stop his healing. Due to the fact that most Ryze players tend to stand still when using their combo you can stun and place turrets around him.
Swain
Swain may be tanky with healing but buying a Morellonomicon and dodging his abilities will ruin his damage combos. You are also the more dominant laner.
Syndra
Syndra may throw your turrets but in the end if you stun her you are the one with better burst and teamfighting utility.
Talon
You can easily prevent his snowballing zone him from farming. Get a Zhonya's Hourglass to negate most if not all of his burst and kill him.
Twisted Fate
He can poke down your turrets and has a point-and-click stun, but if he ults you can cancel it or kill him instantly when he finishes.
Veigar
You are the dominant laner against Veigar but as the game goes on he can farm AP off of your turrets and have more teamfighting power than you. He is however squishy and if you take Cleanse and Zhonya's Hourglass you can avoid his burst.
Vel'Koz
You're evenly matched in the laning phase but he can deal massive damage when teamfighting and his damage is hard to avoid with Zhonya's Hourglass.
Xerath
He can poke you but since he is skillshot reliant and squishy you can avoid his damage then burst him down.
Viktor
Victor is rather easy to deal with in the laning phase but later he can stall nearly as well as you and has roughly the same amount of teamfighting power.
Yasuo
He's easy to deal with in the laning phase and Zhonya's Hourglass can easily avoid his damage. He is however a bigger threat in teamfights so be weary of his burst then.
Zed
He's somewhat easy to deal with after you get Zhonya's Hourglass but before then it's kind of a hassle.
Ziggs
Ziggs is one of the squishiest mages in the game so you can easily one-shot him. If you are weary of his ult simply take Barrier or get Zhonya's Hourglass
Zilean
Zilean has heavy damage but very high mana costs early and have no effective ways of clearing your turrets unless he has very hgh amounts of AP
Zyra
Zhonya's Hourglass active will negate her ult and your turrets are a lot stronger than her plants.
Hello guys its Deathwind430, welcome to my first ever guide on mobafire. As a Heimerdinger main ever since I started playing (though not for a very long time as I only started on Bard's first release), I think that I have at least some authority to say that this guy is viable to an extent. There are more than just a few uses for Heimerdinger. He could be a burst mage with the capacity to out-burst even Veigar. He could be a disruptor, with aoe damage, cc, and perma-slows. Or this build, a hard pusher.
Pros / Cons
Pros / Cons
PROS:
Constant pressure, perma-slow, hard to gank, very slippery, insane sustain, survivable, tanky, objective control.
CONS:
High cooldowns, can rely on skillshots, not a teamfighter, weak late damage, no engage.
Playing Against AD
Playing Against AD
Against AD opponents, try to zone them. It is very rare to find a AD enemy that outrange you, so use your turrets to your advantage. It may be beneficial to get a Raptor Cloak before preceding to Banner of Command.
Playing Against AP
Playing Against AP
This is where you shine. Although levels 1-4 may be difficult since most AP mids can outrange you, but when you do get your Q to level 3, you will now be able to store up to two turrets, which allows you to replace them. Post level 5, try your best to keep an advantage without them backing. Once you finish Banner of Command, you will be able to dominate the lane.
Being Ganked
Being Ganked
If you are being ganked try to ult Q and kite. You have the advantage against squishy junglers, but against tanks like Volibear around 12 minutes in they can survive your attack and get to you, resulting in a swift death.
Farming
Farming
Farming is simple as Heimerdinger. Simply try to keep your turrets alive and autoattack for the last-hits. Most of the time spent will most likely be used to harass your enemy.
Tips and Tricks
Tips and Tricks
- Try to place your Banner of Command minion in the non-AD lane, as AP champions are unable to efficiently clear Banner of Command minions.
- Heimerdinger has the highest health regeneration in the game. Dr. Mundo or Garen's regeneration scales as passives and not as base health regeneration, allowing Heimerdinger to have immense health regen with a few items.
- Sweep a bush and stack all of your turrets in it, then place your Zz'Rot Portal around it to bait people in for an ambush.
- Your turrets generate laser charge every autoattack, so in 1v1 make sure to kite for as long as possible.
- If your team is getting an objective, push on the opposite side of the map. (ie. top for Dragon and bot for Baron)
Summary
Summary
That is unfortunately it guys. Hope you have enjoyed the guide and have fun tilting people. There will be more guides to come I promise but I will not be posting very frequently. This guide is a very specific build for Heimerdinger but I have seen a lot of success with it. DW430, singing out.
