Hello Mobafire. My name is IPodPulse my summoner name is XlThunderzlX. This is my first build on Mobafire and I would like to talk about my personal favourite champ Tryndamere. Tryndamere is an amazing AD fighter that can deal tons of damage. He is amazing at both top and jungle and his ultimate is one of the best in the game. I hope you enjoy the build, and any problems feel free to leave a comment.







My name is Kevin I have been playing League since late S1 and started playing even more early S2. I play on the NA server and have over 600 normal wins, I am currently bronze 3 trying to get to silver+ (Yea I know how sad am I). My favourite champion right now are Tryndamere, Master Yi, Rengar, Kassadin, Lee Sin, Skarner, Lucian, and Varus. I play many lanes top and adc being my favourite but I still enjoy all roles.







Pros

  • 35% Critical strike chance when at full fury

Runes

These are my recommended runes. The attack damage marks are pretty understandable as you want to be able to deal a lot of early damage this is great for both lane and jungle. The armor seals are great for your top lane opponents and to receive less damage in the jungle. Magic resist is really to survive AP enemies. The attack damage quintessences are for the same reason as the attack damage marks.

These are my alternative set of runes. These focus on attack speed and sustain in lane early game, Though these do work it is recommended to stay with the runes above as they will most likely help you more.







First you wanna know what spells work on Tryndamere and what don't.

Recommended Spells

Man this spell is amazing slows down enemy attack speed and movement speed, great for running away champs and securing a kill.

This is the best spell you can have, you can do pretty much anything you need with this spell. Chasing enemies, running away, and extra boost when Spinning Slash isn't enough

A personal favourite, gives that extra damage you need to finish off a champ. This is great if you plan on killing your enemy early laning phase.

This is just for jungling. Preseason really improved this spell by lowering the cooldown to 40 seconds. Now you can smite at both buffs and not need to worry about when Smite will get back up

Good for CC issues, if against a team with hard CC you can get this or you can
just buy Mercurial Scimitar which would help you a lot more since it only has a 90 second cooldown

Works very well on Tryndamere, the speed boost is very helpful when it comes to catching up to enemies or escaping them. If you don't want to go with flash get this instead.

A good spell that can help you a lot, you can use this even when in CC aside from suppression. The only problem is that this spell is only good early game, it is not that good late game.

Originally I never liked this spell, i thought it was really useless. But I eventually tried taking it and really liked it. This spell is great when split pushing or helping out a teammate.

You shouldn't have to use this at all, you already have a built in heal so this item shouldn't even need to be used.

You don't have mana

Never take this, it will be completely useless and you will regret it later. I Garentee.







Tryndamere gains 5 Fury for striking a unit or 10 Fury for a critical strike, and 10 extra Fury for killing a unit. When out of combat for 8 seconds, Tryndamere loses 5 fury every second.

Each point of Fury grants +.35% Critical Chance.

Passive: Tryndamere thirsts for blood, gaining 5 / 10 / 15 / 20 / 25 Attack Damage plus 0.15 / 0.2 / 0.25 / 0.3 / 0.35 per 1% Health missing.

Active: Tryndamere consumes his Fury, restoring 30 / 40 / 50 / 60 / 70 Health (+30 (+1.2 per Fury consumed)% of Ability Power), plus 0.5 / 0.95 / 1.4 / 1.85 / 2.3 Health per Fury consumed.

Decreases surrounding champions' physical damage by 20 / 35 / 50 / 65 / 80, and enemies with their backs turned also have their movement speed slowed by 30 / 37.5 / 45 / 52.5 / 60%. Lasts 4 seconds.

Active: Tryndamere spins through his enemies, dealing 70 / 100 / 130 / 160 / 190 (+100% of ability power) (+1.2 per bonus attack damage) physical damage to enemies in his path. Spinning Slash's cooldown is reduced by 1 second whenever Tryndamere critically strikes a minion. It is reduced by 2 seconds when Tryndamere critically strikes a champion.

Tryndamere becomes completely immune to death for 5 seconds, refusing to be reduced below 1 Health and instantly gaining 50 / 75 / 100 Fury.

This is my leveling up sequence. We start off with Bloodlust because of the extra attack damage it gives us and the heal is very effective when laning and dueling. The 2nd ability you max depends on the situation. If the person you are laning with hurts you a lot and has the chance to kill you then take Mocking Shout. But if the enemy has no chance of killing you take Spinning Slash. Mocking Shout will lower the enemies AD so you can hurt them more and they hurt you less, Spinning Slash will deal extra damage when dueling, it helps with wave clear and the decreased cool down is great for escaping and catching enemies. You always want to take points in Undying Rage at level 6, 11, and 16. Then max what skill is last.

You need this for Tryndamere the movement speed is really needed as well as the attack speed. You want to get this item first because it helps Tryndamere a lot early game because it will increase Tryndamere's DPS.


We get this item because of the lifesteal, we want to be able to sustain in lane so we choose this item because of the 12% lifesteal it grants and the active it provides can be very useful when dueling an enemy. We later switch this item because the stats it provides doesn't help that much later game. Swapping it with Bloodthirster or other lifesteal items will help Tryndamere more later game.


This item works very well with Tryndamere. The attack speed, critical chance and passive is very helpful early game as well as mid and late game. We get this or Statikk Shiv early game as it will allow Tryndamere to do much more like soloing dragon, clearing minion waves, and delivering more DPS.


This is the other item you can choose instead of Phantom Dancer. The stats work great for Tryndamere and the passive it gives is very effective against enemies who are stacking armor trying to counter you Eg. Nasus. This item is great for the same reasons as Phantom Dancer So you can be successful early game by doing things like solo dragon or dealing more DPS.


A great item for a lot of AD champions and especially Tryndamere It gives critical chance and 70 AD but the best part about this item is the passive. Tryndamere already does massive damage when he critically strikes but with this item your strikes will hit even harder. You always want to get this item at least every game.


This item will make you slice tanks and other enemies like the are warm butter. The 35% armor penetration it provides is very useful when dealing with enemies that can survive your attacks, plus it gives you more attack damage so you can hit even harder. When you combine this with Infinity Edge don't be surprised if you can finish off enemies. in less than 3 hits.

This item is really good with with Tryndamere. The attack speed it provides is very useful but the most important thing of this item is the tenacity it gives. You are going to CC'ed a lot when you are Tryndamere so having this is very useful, I would get this item if you are vs'ing teams that have lots of CC or if you just want the stats it provides.


This item is good if you get focused and end up dieing. A lot. It gives 50 armor and 40 magic resist which helps with incoming enemies.I find that it isn't the best item for Tryndamere just because it wont help him that much and the only thing it would be useful for is it's passive.


This is an amazing item for Tryndamere it gives you 700 health and 30 attack damage and a great passive that slows your enemy's movement speed by 40%. This item fits perfectly for wanting to be that tanky champ that can hit HARD. The passive is what makes this item even better, since it slows down enemy movement speed you should have no problems catching up to enemy champions. This item can be used in any game just because how good it cooperates with Tryndamere.


This an item that has 2 passives that makes Tryndamere even harder to kill. The first passive gives a shield that goes off when you have less then 30% health left, the shield only absorbs magic damage though. The second passive is very similar to Tryndamere's Bloodlust but instead of 0.35 attack damage per health missing it gives 1 attack damage per 2% maximum health missing. This item really good when you are vs'ing a team of 3 or more AP.


This item is really good when vs'ing enemy teams that have loads of cc. It does the same effect as Cleanse but has a 90 second cool down and gives holders a 50% attack speed boost. A good time to use this is during team fights or when you are focused. When you get CC'ed hard pop this and destroy everyone around you.






At some point during the game you want to swap your Bilgewater Cutlass for a better lifesteal item the choices are Bloodthirster, Blade of the Ruined King and Ravenous Hydra. I will be explaining each item and what makes them great with Tryndamere
This one hell of an item, it gives the highest damage out of any item when at max stack and it gives 18% lifesteal. If you want to solo baron this the item for you. It will give you the most sustain out of any of the other lifesteal choices and with 100 damage you will be able to kill enemies with ease. If you want to get this item I would recommend getting it somewhere between last whisper and your 6th item. This way you can maximize your damage output while being able to gain lots of health back.
This item has become really popular lately especially with Tryndamere players. It gives moderate amount of lifesteal and a good amount of attack speed, and 25 attack damage making this a good item for Tryndamere. The passive it provides is truly outrageous since it deals 5% of the enemies current health in bonus physical damage, and the active is really great when 1v1'ing an enemy or simply running away since it steals movement speed and health. I personally get this item right after Infinity Edge or after Last Whisper. This is a great item and I recommend you to try this out one game.
Ravenous Hydra is a really good item if you are going to be having A LOT of team fights, it creates wave like effect that deals damage to enemies around the target you are hitting. For example if you are hitting one wraith the rest of the wraiths will receive damage. The cool thing about this is you also gain lifesteal from the enemies around your target. I would get this item after I get my core just because this item isn't really that essential unlike the others, this item is more of a way to deal damage to enemies that you aren't targeting.

Farming and harassing


Laning with Tryndamere is fairly easy. All you have to do when laning is farm till level 6 and slowly harass the enemy. What you do is whenever both you and your enemy are going in for a minion you just hit him and back off. This will lower their health so that you can eventually kill them. Use either Exhaust or Ghost to help you secure the kill. If they are fighting back use Exhaust as this will slow their attack speed and movement speed. If they are at low health and trying to run away from you, either use Spinning Slash or Ghost or Flash.

Zones


Next thing you want to do is lane safely, the picture below shows you where you want to be at when laning. The yellow zone can be dangerous if you are too far in and have no wards. The red zone is where you should start to worry, you are pushing too far and the enemy top can easily call their jungler, only push to the red zone if you see their jungler at a different lane Eg. Bot and/or have the river warded. The green one is your safest area but this most likely means that you are getting pushed. The best thing to do is wait until your jungler comes top and fight the enemy. While your waiting farm the minions and harass them when they think you are going for minions.

Warding


Warding is very important when laning, warding top is very important since it is the lane that is usually ganked the most.
I found this good video about warding top and where to place wards. It also talks about the pros and cons about each ward placement.

Counters and handling them


It is completely normal for you to lose top against your counter, their job is to make top lane difficult for you. So instead of raging out and getting mad ask for help! It is OK to ask for help you can't win every top lane, so cooperate with your team and tell them that you need help.

Don't just sit Top


Being active in LoL is very important, if you are winning top and have gotten help from your team return the favor, gank other lanes or place wards in the enemy jungle. You want to do all you can to help improve the lanes of others since they have went out of their way to improve yours.






Tryndamere can jungle amazingly, he can gank very well and deal tons of damage to anyone. You keep Tryndamere's build the same the only difference you do is switch the summoner spells. You can go with Ghost and Smite or Flash and Smite. Your Jungle Route is also fairly basic. Red->Wraiths->Wolfs->Blue->Gank. When you choose to gank find out what lane needs it the most, don't just go top when bot is in need of a gank.


If you feel like counter jungling go Blue->Enemy Red->Wolfs->Wraiths->Red->Gank
Make sure the enemy jungle isn't taking the opposite buff, for example if you are going to counter jungle by starting blue make sure the enemy jungle isn't starting at red. This can help you a lot as this ruins the enemy jungler and improves your jungling experience.

Dragon



Now Tryndamere can solo Dragon, it is real easy you just need to have at least these 2 requirements:
  • Must have life steal and either Statikk Shiv or Phantom Dancer. You want this because the life steal is required to sustain yourself and Statikk Shiv or Phantom Dancer is needed because you need attack speed. Dragon has a debuff that will slow down your attack speed. You want to be able to hit the dragon good amount of times so you want to get at least 1 of these items.
  • Make sure the area isn't warded and for your team to have the area warded. You wouldn't want to have dragons stolen from you just because the area was warded.

What you need to know when ganking



Now when you gank you want to know a couple things:
  • Make sure the area isn't warded, you don't want to stand in a bush for 1 minute waiting for the chance to gank. If the enemy is freezing their lane it means that they have the bush warded and you should not be wasting time for a gank you won't get.
  • Tell the lane that you are going to gank and ping the enemy you are ganking, this will allow your teammate to initiate the fight and you can come in to get the kill.
  • As soon as your team mate initiates you want to get in there and attack them. When they have their back turned or are trying to flee use Mocking Shout this will drastically help your teammate and you.

To gank with Tryndamere Always tell your lane you are ganking. Ping at the person you are trying to gank and communicate with your teammate. If you notice the enemy backing off or playing really safe all of a sudden then that bush is most likely warded and you are wasting your time waiting for a time to gank. When you are able to gank have your teamate and initate with the enemy id they have some sort of hard CC, otherwise you should try to engage. As soon as they initiate you run in there and Spinning Slash your way into that fight. If they run away use your Mocking Shout and keep on fighting.

tl;dr- Ping and use the combo Spinning Slash and Mocking Shout.






In this chapter I made 3 videos on how to gank each lane. This chapter is mainly for people who either want to start jungling or just can't gank very well. This is merely a chapter that can improve people's jungling.

Top

Mid

Bot


You always want to ping on whoever you are going to gank, nothing is worse than you going in for a gank and your teammate didn't help because you didn't ping







This chapter is if you want to have a little more fun with Tryndamere


At one point in every late game Tryndamere can solo Baron Nashor . There are things you need to know when soloing Baron:
  • You NEED life steal, without it you will get destroyed, You need to change you Bilgewater Cutlass with another lifesteal item like Bloodthirster
  • You want to try and get your full build, trying to solo baron when you have only Bilgewater Cutlass and Phantom Dancer you will get yourself killed
  • Make sure when you are doing Baron that the enemy has no vision of you doing it. Imagine just about to kill Baron and have it stolen from you by the enemy team.
When all of those have been done then you can solo baron. It will take MUCH longer than fighting with a team, but if you are up for it and it is okay with your team go for it.

The video below shows a Tryndamere soloing Baron. Though is build is completely different from mine it shows that you are able to solo baron.






3.12 - Tryndamere got a nerf on Twisted Treeline. Spinning Slash cooldown increased to 15/14/13/12/11 seconds (from 13/12/11/10/9) and Undying Rage cooldown increased to 120/110/100 seconds (from 110/100/90). The Spinning Slash cooldown is not that big of a deal since your focus on your AA but Undying Rage's cooldown has been raised. This is not a problem unless you constantly use this all the time.
3.13 - K so Tryndamere got himself another nerf, This time he will only receive a 1 second cool down reduction on his spinning slash whenever he critically strikes a monster. It isn't that bad if you are laning but if you are jungling there may be some troubles when going between camp to camp. You still receive and 2 second cool down reduction on spinning slash if you hit an enemy champion with a critical attack.
Preseason - Welcome to the preseason! Lot's of things happened here both good and bad, but luckily nothing happened to Tryndamere :). We did however get something good for Tryndamere TRINKETS! These things will help you dominate top lane and the jungle with their great power of... revealing? Anyway these help Tryndamere in a great way but it is still not a reason to buy wards.








Alright so you reached the end of my guide. I know it isn't the best but it is my first. Any suggestions would be great and feedback is more then welcome. Tryndamere is a really good champion when you learn to use him, though it might take a while to master him it is very worth it as he is extremely fun to play.
