Hey-O it is BonusSatis, how is it going guys? Today on ‘This Is So My New Main’ we are going to look at Amumu - the Sad Mummy.

We are going to be looking at
who he is,
what he does,
how to build him
and how to play him.
And how to make friends…..because amumu does not have any. Actually that reminds me of a joke, so why did Rengar not get his pentakill? Because Amumu was off in the corner crying. XD

Amumu is classified as a primary of tank with a secondary of mage, this means he gets to build all the fun AP items and tank items depending on the play style. His Q or gab is the longest in the game, it out scales Thresh's grab with twenty five more range. Amumu has long and short stuns, good crowd control and actually benefits from being hit as it reduces the cooldown for his Tantrum ability. Amumu is one of my favorite junglers and is very popular in the community. I mean he got his own music video and that is sitting at like twelve million views. Let me put it this way his music video has made nearly twenty thousand dollars on YouTube, so not bad for a sad mummy boy.

Actually all of his stories of his lore are messed up, there are three of them so if you want to have a rain cloud in your day go read those stories. One thing the stories do agree upon is that Amumu is really old because he is cursed with eternal life and there are three different ideas of how that happened.
In the first story, he has a disease that corrupts the flesh that eventually kills, in the sorrow of hearing that his entire family has died he hugs a girl who was his friend, which infects her and kills her. The girl's grandmother then curses Amumu with undying for causing her death.
In the second story Amumu is a real jerk of a ruler and after many deaths of this people for his own personal gain they lock him in an underground chamber next to a magical item that grants him eternal life. He goes crazy and tears at his skin and is forced to bandage himself. After a unknown time a earth quake allows him to escape but also removes his memory of anything before the chamber.
In the last story, as the ruler of Shurima he believed in the innate goodness of the human heart so he swore an oath to live as a beggar until he made one true friend. Upon dieing from a broken heart at the depravity of man and never fulfilling his oath, still in death he is searching for a true friend.
Man that is heavy, eh.

Ok I know this section is already long but in LoL Annie is his one friend, so yay. Eh, happy face :)

Well that that just happened, Little Knight Amumu
Someone scraped the mummy, Sad Robot Amumu
You will never guess who got left outside, Surprise Party Amumu
Ruler of Shurima, Pharaoh Amumu
Red foot, blue body, green head, Vancouver Amumu
It is just so sad, right in the feels, Re-Gifted Amumu
Wait, what? He has got hair, what is up with that, Almost-Prom King Amumu

and He also has a chroma pack for his surprise party skin. As for chroma packs it is pretty good, not only do the colors change but his balloon changes as well. So now you can look like the people who love to kill amumu the most. You can have a Kled, Teemo, Lulu, Fizz, Gnar, Ziggs, an adorable poro and lastly i have no idea what the hell that pink thing is supposed to be, themed balloons.

Passive- Cursed Touch
Upon auto attacking any target the passive does a bonus 15% true damage for any incoming magic damage dealt for three seconds.

Q- Bandage Toss
A long range skillshot that when used will pull Amumu to the target and applies a one second stun. This works on jungle creatures as well as champions.

W- Dispair
This ability can be toggled on and off, it does flat magic damage every second with additional damage scaling off of the targets maximum health.

E- Tantrum
Passive: reduced physical damage from auto attacks
Active: area of effect radial attack, when on cooldown incoming auto attacks reduce the cooldown.

R- Curse of the Sad Mummy
This bad boy of a ultimate has a 550 range, that means a huge area of effect lockdown and amazing ability power damage and as a added bonus it applies his passive to all enemy champions hit.

A short mathematical statement on what ability to take first, a leash at blue takes about 15 seconds, blue is going to hit you about 7 times depending on your leash. With these averages, Amumu will do 120 damage with his W but will do 152 with his E. So from that viewpoint start with his E first, take his W second the blue buff will help with the mana consumption, lastly I put my third point back into my W. If mid really needs a gank I will put the point into my Q, most of the time though I will take my Q with my fourth point.
On what skills to max out first go W then E and lastly Q. Amumu's W has better scaling and works better with his passive of dealing magic damage.

So first off there are a lot of different items that can be built on Amumu and there are two different styles of building him; Ap and Tank. My build allows for flexibility for each style. Ok so we will keep this simple, here is your core; Stalker's Blade with cinderhulk, Ionian boots of Lucidity, and the Hextech Protobelt. After building those three items look at how the game is going and choose the appropriate build. If you are winning push that advantage go with the 'Winning' build, if you are losing and the game is FUBAR then go with the 'Losing' build, if the team needs a unkillable tank then go with the last or 'Tank' build.

Smite and flash. Nothing fancy here, keep moving along.

Ok so when playing amumu jungle or really any jungler there is two different styles or mentalities of jungling. The first is when I gank your a lane i will also take the kill, maybe even tax a little on the lane, in short I want to be strong. The second idea is, that when I gank the lane I want the laner to get the kill, in short my team is strong. That choice is up to you and your play style, I just wanted to mention it quickly before we got into the next section.

I have figured out a unique jungle clearing pattern for amumu that works well. So like normal Start at blue, leave gromp alone but go to the wolves, then the raptor camp aka chickens, during your fight at red your smite will come up for a easy clear. After a recall, clearing the Krugs will give you lvl 4, which then you can you can take his Q. Amumu will be nearly full life, still have the red buff and by this time top is an easy gank or middle if it lookin juicy.
Ganks are pretty easy just Q in, his bandage will go through immortal objects, in other words if you have vision of them you can grab them.

We are the front line, so we need to be the one to initiate the fights. As a front liner we have the honor to get the **** kicked out of us while the fancy mages stand in the back to take the kills and get all the glory. With that said if we don't properly protect or peel for said fancy mages they will die and blame us for their deaths. So the proto belt will helpful with positioning and looking scary. Also make sure to activate and leave on his W, it will shred the health of any tank or nearly by fighter. When it gets crazy or if you see two players out of position use his Q to grab them, pop his ultimate for another lock down. Properly done with the stun from his Q and the ultimate, you can chain a 3 second stun. And 3 seconds in League is a long time, said another way they are super freakin dead.

Most teams will scatter when they see a amumu out front, a Q grab into a ultimate is a nasty yet simply combo that guarantees a kill.

His W or Dispair is a great at killing other tanks, or really anyone who has chunky health. It scales additional damage off of maximum health so put some tears on them and watch them die.

When using his W, feel free to turn it on and leave it on for a while, the mana usage is low so you dont need to worry about overusing it.

His E is great for clearing your jungle or counter jungling, it is kind of works in a loop. When he uses the ability the cooldown is decreased by each auto attack he is hit with, he also gets a passive of negating some incoming damage done with auto attacks. This means it will be back up faster, so you can use it again, then more increased cooldown then you use it again then…. then they are dead, it is great.

Early game Amumu is week and really needs to have a buddy, so hold off on the rambo strategies until level 6, after that then you can go ham on a biscuit.

If amumu has his ultimate it pretty much guarantees a kill when used in lane. If his ultimate is not up a Rylai’s with his W means a constant twenty percent slow to the target. So after a grab and the stun with the slow being applied they will burn a flash or die. Either way it is good.

Remember to use his passive, it only lasts 3 seconds so if there is another baddy nearby feel free to head butt them and let the damage flow.

If you are playing against a Lee Sin, wow buddy be in for a world of hurt, he will wreck you early game. Best tip is to just ban him in the pre-game, if not ward like mad and pray to the League gods he is a bad lee player.

The bandaged boy, the miserable mummy, the jinxed jungler, Amumu might have a sad and honestly really messed up story but he is great. Amumu is at his core a simple and fun jungler. When I play jungle most times it is Amumu who I pick, his grabs are legendary and his ultimate is for the area affected the fastest and nastyest ultimate out there. So Amumu can be a bit of a cry baby, but when it comes to teamfighting, tank killing, jungle clearing, and infecting people with his weird skin disease there is no one else I would rather have.
