Introduction

Hey, my name is Caerusi and my favourite champion to play is Bard. I want to make this guide to aid those seeking a powerful utility support champion. This is my first guide so if you have any questions to ask me please do :)

Why Chose Bard?

I am one for playing champions that are not fully recognised as being a strong pick, I thought with Bards release many people would pick him up as a main but it seems his true potential has remained hidden as the majority of players stubbornly think that Bard is a weak champion.

Bard all in all is a unique and strong champion that offers great mobility and ganking potential for the team as well as being a great team fight champion. His ultimate if used correctly is incredible for changing team fights in a positive way. Bard provides active support for the jungle and can use his meeps passive a great roaming and escape potential. Bard himself is a very rewarding and difficult champion to play, In my opinion he is one of the most fun champions to play.

Tips for Bard

Bard requires a balance of teamwork and skill usage. Your team needs to understand what Bard is capable of and therefore he is not a great pick for solo queue. However, the more difficult a champion is, the more fun it is to play. In solo queue, you want to let your team know in advance on how to want to use your ultimate. Discuss how you want to use Bard's portal.

To be aggressive in lane you only have q's and auto attacks. For every meep that you collect, you can use one W, so manage your mana accordingly. Bard's Q may be difficult to land but the rewards are great. In teamfights do not always be greedy in looking to Q the enemy carry. Always use it to stun whoever you can. Hold off on using your ultimate until you can nail the enemy carry. For movement speed use W. Use E towards the end of a fight to retreat or chase down enemies. Bard can use the Q-Flash trick. Because it is very quick, use it when the opportunity arises. Even a short portal can be effective in escaping or chasing down enemies. Do not always look for long portals but also open short portals.
