Support Gold Item Changes

This is an explanation of the 9 new gold items for supports.


Ancient Coin
Cost: 365
+5 Health Regen per 5 seconds
+3 Mana Regen per 5 seconds
UNIQUE Passive - Favor: Being near a minion death without dealing the killing blow grants 2 Gold.
Nomad's Medallion
Cost: 850(485)
+8 Health Regen per 5 seconds
+11 Mana Regen per 5 seconds
+2 Gold per 10 seconds
UNIQUE Passive - Favor: Being near a minion death without dealing the killing blow grants 4 Gold.
Talisman of Ascension
Talisman of Ascension
Cost: 2000(970)
+10 Health Regen per 5 seconds
+15 Mana Regen per 5 seconds
+2 Gold per 10 seconds
+20% Cooldown Reduction
UNIQUE Passive - Favor: Being near a minion death without dealing the killing blow grants 4 Gold.
]UNIQUE Active: Grants nearby allies +40% Movement Speed for 3 seconds (60 second cooldown).


Spellthief's Edge
Cost: 365(365)
+10 Ability Power
+3 Mana Regen per 5 seconds
+2 Gold per 10 seconds
UNIQUE Passive - Tribute: Basic attacks against champions grant 4 Gold, up to once every 10 seconds per enemy. Killing a minion disables this passive for 10 seconds.
Frostfang
Cost: 850(485)
+20 Ability Power
+7 Mana Regen per 5 seconds
+4 Gold per 10 seconds
]UNIQUE Passive - Tribute: Spells and basic attacks against champions grant 8 Gold, up to once every 10 seconds per enemy. Killing a minion disables this passive for 10 seconds.

Frost Queen's Claim
Cost: 2000(715)
+50 Ability Power
+10 Mana Regen per 5 seconds
+4 Gold per 10 seconds
UNIQUE Passive - Tribute: Spells and basic attacks against champions grant 8 Gold, up to once every 10 seconds per enemy. Killing a minion disables this passive for 10 seconds.
UNIQUE Active - Arctic Embrace: Chills target enemy champion and all nearby enemies, dealing 50 Magic damage and reducing Movement Speed by 50% for 2 seconds (60 second cooldown.)


Relic Shield
Cost: 365(365)
+50 Health
+6 Health Regen per 5 seconds
UNIQUE Passive - Spoils of War: Melee basic attacks execute minions below 200 Health. Killing a minion heals the nearest allied champion for 2% of your maximum Health and grants them (kill + 5) Gold.
Targon's Brace
Targon's Brace
Cost: 850(485)
+175 Health
+12 Health Regen per 5 seconds
UNIQUE Passive - Spoils of War: Melee basic attacks execute minions below 200 Health. Killing a minion heals the nearest allied champion for 2% of your maximum Health and grants them (kill + 10) Gold.
Face of the Mountain
Face of the Mountain
Cost: 2000(675)
+375 Health
+25 Health Regen per 5 seconds
+10% Cooldown Reduction
UNIQUE Passive - Spoils of War: Melee basic attacks execute minions below 200 Health. Killing a minion heals the nearest allied champion for 2% of your maximum Health and grants them (kill + 10) Gold.
UNIQUE Active - Deadly Phalanx: Consumes 20% of your current Health to shield target ally for 10% of your maximum Health for 4 seconds. After 4 seconds, the target explodes dealing 10% of your maximum Health as magic damage in an area. (60 second cooldown)

New Utility Masteries!

Phasewalker reduces that cast time of recall by one second.
Fleet of Foot grants .5/1/1.5 bonus movement speed.
Meditation grants 1/2/3 mana regen per 5.
Scout increases cast range of trinkets by 15%.
Summoner's Insight reduces the cooldown of summoner spells by 4/7/10%.
Strength of Spirit grants +1 health regen per 5 for every 300 maximum mana.
Alchemist increases the duration of potions and elixirs by 10%.
Greed gives .5/1/1.5 gold every 10 seconds.
Runic Affinity increases the duration of neutral monster buffs by 20%.
Vampirism increases spellvamp and lifesteal by 1/2/3%.
Culinary Master health potions restore and additional 20 health and 10 mana upon consuming.
Scavenger gives one gold each and ally kills a nearby lane minion
Wealth 40 bonus starting gold
Expanded Mind grants 2/3.5/5% increased maximum mana
Inspiration 5/10 bonus experience every 10 seconds while near a higher level ally champion.
Bandit Mele-15 bonus gold on kill/assist ranged-gain 3 gold when attacking an enemy champion.
Intelligence 2/3.5/5% cool down reduction and 4/7/10% cool down reduction on active items.
Wanderer 5% bonus movement speed when out of combat.

Vision Changes!

"We’ve made a large number of changes to vision, including adding a new item slot for specialized vision items, per-player ward limits, and more ward options to make the vision war a more strategic part of the game and less of a raw gold race. Additionally, we saw that optimal play patterns emerged where one player was expected to shoulder the whole burden of vision in a game, and we want to re-emphasize the team nature of securing vision." - Riot Games

Each player may place only 3 stealth (formerly known as sight wards or green wards) wards on the map at a time, placing a fourth ward removes the earliest placed ward, this includes wards from Sightstone, Wriggle’s Lantern and Trinkets. Vision wards (also known as pink wards) are limited to 1 on the map at once per player, and vision wards now have 5 hit points and are no longer stealthed.

Trinkets!


Stealth Ward places a stealth ward that lasts for 60 seconds(120 second cooldown), upgrades into Greater Totem.
Greater Totem at level nine, that places a stealth ward that lasts for 120 seconds(120 second cooldown), upgrades into either Greater Stealth Totem or a Greater Vision Totem.
Greater Stealth Totem places a stealth ward that lasts for 180 seconds(180 second cooldown).
Greater Vision Totem places a visible ward that reveals the surrounding area and lasts until you place another Vision ward or it is killed.( 5 auto attacks kill a Vision Ward)





Sweeping LensReveals and disables nearby invisible traps and invisible wards for 4 seconds in a small radius (180 second cooldown), upgrades into a Greater Lens.
Greater Lens Reveals and disables nearby invisible traps, devices and wards for 6 seconds in a medium radius. (90 second cooldown), upgrades into Oracle's Lens.
Oracle's Lens Reveals and disables nearby invisible traps, devices and wards for 6 seconds in a medium radius and grants detection of nearby invisible units for 10 seconds (90 second cooldown).






Scrying Orb Reveals a small location within 1100 range for 1 second (150 second cooldown), upgrades into Greater Orb.
Greater Orb Reveals an area up to 2000 units away for 1 second (150 second cooldown), upgrades into Farsight Orb.
Farsight Orb Reveals an area up to 2500 units away for 1 second (90 second cooldown).

Summary

Overall the changes to the support role are great for season 4, because already it seems that so many more people want to play support, and now its more than just the supports responsibility to ward. The gold income will help supports to actually have a somewhat realistic build 20 minutes in, instead of in season 3 where they would only have boots and their slow gold earning items. I hope you enjoy playing support in season 4! I'll be joining you on the fields of justice as a jungler though, my fellow summoners!
