Items

Standard Core:

This build focuses heavily on abusing your lane opponents and seiging in the mid game.

Doran's Blade should ALWAYS be your starting item, regardless of your lane matchup. It provides extra health for allins as well as lifesteal, which synergizes well with the bonus damage from Draven's Q.

Your second purchase is where things can get a little more complicated. Ideally, you should be able to purchase either a Vampiric Scepter or a B. F. Sword. Otherwise, you can purchase whatever is most convenient and/or builds into your core items (ex: Boots, Long Sword, Refillable Potion, Cull, Pickaxe; note the exclusion of Dagger).

Completing the combination of Vampiric Scepter, B. F. Sword, and Berserker's Greaves should be your first priority. Together, they provide a deadly combination of damage, sustain, and maneuverablility that should allow you to put most opponents in the dumpster.

The order in which you choose to build the next three items varies depending on the game situation and your personal preference. You can go IE>RFC>DD, DD>IE>RFC, or IE>DD>RFC. In general, the further ahead you are, the more powerful an early Death's Dance becomes (as the survivability allows you to retain your lead). Alternatively, The extra damage you get from buying crit items right away allows you to contribute from behind and catch up with easier kills (at the cost of being easier to kill yourself). Personally, I prefer IE>RFC>DD for its raw carry potential, but you will have to experiment to determine what works best for you.

Finishing Items

The last two slots of your build will usually be filled with a Last Whisper item and Statikk Shiv. Many Draven players like to build Statikk Shiv as opposed to Rapid Firecannon as their first zeal item. I like the early RFC for its ability to chunk out opposing carries at range, but I think shiv has some merit against dive comps. In that case, just get your RFC now. If you reach full build and have lots of extra gold, you can choose to replace your Berserker's Greaves with Phantom Dancer.

As for your Lord Dominik's Regards or Mortal Reminder, don't be afraid to start building components earlier. Against fed tanks, I will often buy Last Whisper before completing my Death's Dance, and against strong healers like Soraka or Vladimir, an early Executioner's Calling (even before your first real item) is often in order

A full build in an ordinary game (with replaced boots) might look like this:

Situational Items

There are, of course, times when the standard build will fall flat. These situational items will most often replace your second zeal item in a full build, but are built at pretty much any time according to your needs. Here's a small explanation for each of the listed items

Cull:

If you're far behind or its super convenient with your gold, get it. Farm out the 100 minions without dying. Get a pick with your team to cash out on your passive stacks. You just made 1000 gold. Granted, 450 of it went to 7 AD and some sustain, but I swear this thing works wonders sometimes.

Ninja Tabi:

An effective purchase to help you survive against lethality users like Kayn, Miss Fortune, or Kha'Zix. Remember that when you choose to purchase these, you're giving up 30% attack speed. To counteract this, I purchase Phantom Dancer as my first zeal item; that extra 15% goes a long way to make Draven feel less clunky. If I see a lethality user getting fed early on, my build will usually be DD components>Tabi>DD>PD. Remember that the damage reduction is multiplicative. Provided you damage the assassin, you will only be taking 61.6% of their ability damage, or 55.44% of their auto attack damage right away. This makes it hard for them them to delete you, especially with the armor penetration that your boots are negating and the prevalence of heal and shield supports. When you go for this build, I would also recommend that you pick Statikk Shiv as your second zeal item, allowing you to fight back with as much damage as possible.

Maw of Malmortius:

This item is built either when you're snowballing hard and the only thing that can stop you is a fed magic damage carry (such as Syndra or LeBlanc), or against a heavy magic damage team comp in general. This item is much better on Draven than on most other ADC's, as he benefits more from the flat AD and the lifesteal of its passive.

Mercurial Scimitar:

Try not to build this item. Its stats honestly stink for its price. If you can dodge the crowd control, you ideally should. That being said, there's always going to be stuff you can't dodge, and sometimes there's just too much to dodge all at once. Build this only if you REALLY need it or if you want to stack its magic resist with Maw of Malmortius to seal the deal against a heavy magic damage team with minimal tankiness (otherwise a Last Whisper item is still better).

A full build against heavy magic damage (with replaced boots; provided you don't need a Last Whisper item) might look like this:

Guardian Angel:

Build this either when you've already built standard and are starting to get oneshot by lethality users that weren't threatening before, or in combination with the aforementioned Ninja Tabi build to seal the deal against an all AD team (provided you don't need a Last Whisper item).

A full build against a full AD team (provided you don't need a Last Whisper item) might look like this:

My preferred page for Draven is a standard ADC page, substituting magic resist glyphs for attack speed. This gives me an advantage in allins, especially once I have a Vampiric Scepter to sustain through most poke. If you're facing heavy magic damage supports that are likely to build magic penetration (looking at you, Brand) or you just don't have the IP, there's no shame in taking the MR. Just use whatever works best for you, provided it's not completely stupid.
