Introduction

This is my first guide so I am doing nothing more then showing how I build and play Brand. He is quite a bit of fun to play if you enjoy combo oriented champs similar to that of Leblanc or Annie. His passive ability is most likely what makes Brand so beastly, the ability to constantly put an ingite-like effect on enemies based on 2% of their max HP so even tanks aren't safe from this damage if they have High HP.

Masteries

The mastery build that I use should be quite common for mage builds, 9 in offense to get the ability per level, cooldown, 15% penetration. As well as 21 in Utility to gain access to cooldown, movement speed, mana regen, and exp bonuses.

Runes

I chose Magic Pen. marks, solid cooldown glyphs, mana regen seals, and solid ability quint. I like the ability quint and magic pen marks for early game damage. The mana regen is there to help keep your mana up since its so easy to blow all your mana with Brand. The cooldown is to help with keeping your spells up and ready asap, especially your stun.

Skill Sequence

On the skills, its good to get a point into each move, afterwards you want to focus on getting Fire pillar and conflagration up. Fire pillar is gonna be your bread and butter damage spell. Conflagration is gonna be your set-up and sear is your stun+damage. Fire pillar has incredible range for an AoE blast move, and goes off quite fast leaving people little time to react. Conflagration is gonna be a spell you initiate with on champs, or a move that should follow fire pillar to wipe out massive amounts of minions. Sear is just your skill-shot damage with stun if they are set ablaze from previous abilities.

Items

The item build can speak for itself for the most part. Start of with , then get , After this I tend to get early so I can let it build up the mana. After the tear, I usually finish unless there is heavy CC, stuns, etc.. then I make . Now if your sure your gonna be racking up the kills make a , otherwise i'll just make a [Fiendish Codex] and turn it eventually into . Then follow up your build for more AP, slowing ability, and hp/protection with , , finishing , then selling your Doran's ring for Zhonya Hourglass. The hourglass can come in handy for hitting your combo, then if they try to kill you still you can hit the protection, then follow up with your combo again.

Beginning/Mid/End

Beginning-
Early game you pretty much stay a safe distance back and harrass with fire pillar for champions and fire pillar/conflagration for minion kills. When you get sear you can do your Conflagration-->Sear-->Fire Pillar combo to finish off champs. When you get Lv6, just add Pyroclasm to the end of the combo: E,Q,W,R

Mid Game-
This is when the fun begins, you definiately want to stay with your team or atleast 1 person who can initiate into fights because you will be targeted due to Brand's massive burst AoE damage. If you run into solo fights you Conflagration-->Sear-->Fire Pillar--> Pyroclasm, but if you run into multiple enemy fights I tend to lead with Pyroclasm first as it sets them ablaze and vulnerable to my other abilities and leads to more AoE dmg.

End Game-
Brand begins to fall off a bit in the end game unless you were able to build him up quickly and have a lot of AP. You push out a lot of damage regardless but by now the enemies should have built a decent defense against you. At this point you want to wait for your team to initiate fights before you steamroll through. Let your team rid them of Banshee's shields so your abilities get full effect.
