Introduction
GUIDE REMAKE AND COMPLETION WILL BE DONE SOON
As of 7.13, 7.14 and 7.15 I've been running this build and I think it is the best one for Shaco at the moment. I will notify you guys if I come up with anything different!
The guide part will be done in the near future!
I'm a 17 year old from Lithuania(EUNE) who OTP's Shaco. I mainly play jungle and top. This is my OP.GG
Dont forget to check out my S8 Sivir Guide!
Pros
|
+ Invisibility + AOE Fear + Ultimate that can dodge stuff + Dueling power with clone + Rewarding if played correctly + Low skill floor |
Shaco in my opinion a fun and good pick for solo queue when mastered. While Shaco doesn't have the crowd control and tankiness of the meta junglers, he has tricks up his sleeve. His Deceive allows him to path ganks in a specific unpredictable pattern, Jack In The Box allows him to turn around teamfights and skirmishes because of the fear, and Hallucinate allows him to dodge various abilities. Because of his clone the dueling power is huge. Also it's considerably easy to pick up and play Shaco at a low level. |
Cons
|
- Hard to play late game - Susceptible to CC - Not a lot of base damage - Relies on early snowball - Box fear doesn't trigger instantly - High skill cap |
As all champions, Shaco has his strengths and his weaknesses. Compared to other meta junglers, Shaco's late game can be considered subpar and hard because of his unique playstyle. Because of his playstyle and kit, he is very easily locked down if not played correctly. One of the biggest weaknesses of Shaco is that he has to get an early lead to be atleast somewhat relevant in the later stages of the game. Another con is that Jack In The Box fear doesn't activate immediately and there is a small window to destroy it. And lastly, Shaco is quite hard to master, because of the various advanced tricks. |
Domination
Keystone - Electrocute is in my opinion the best choice for Shaco, because it helps with your clear and dueling power. Even if you go assassin, Deceive doesn't have any base damage, therefore you won't be using Sorcery till you throw you Two-Shiv Poison. Slot 1 - Sudden Impact Slot 2 - You get way more out of Zombie Ward Slot 3 - Ingenious Hunter |
Precision
Slot 1 - Legend: Alacrity Slot 2 - Coup de Grace |
Smite: The main summoner spell that Shaco uses. I'm not sure what you're doing in the jungle if you don't have it. |
Ignite: My favorite summoner spell that Shaco uses. It can secure kills, reduce enemy champion heals/lifesteal/spell vamp. It can be crucial against teamcomps that have Kayn(most of them go the darkin route), Swain, Soraka, Mundo etc. |
Flash: A controversial summoner spell for Shaco. Shaclone seems to be taking it right now. I don't think it's bad for Shaco to have, since it allows you to correct your positional mistakes, it also allows you to have a out of jail card against high CC teamcomps that can lock you down. |
|
Backstab (Passive): One of the main parts of his kit that differs a bad and a good Shaco player. Proper utilization of Backstab during fights and while clearing your jungle boosts your damage immensely. Always try to AA jungle creeps and enemies from the back for the biggest initial damage possible. |
|
Deceive (Q): Another key ability in Shaco's kit that depending on its usage differs a bad and a good player. It allows you to do weird invades, unexpected ganks and it also lets you rotate faster. The invisibility which you get from Deceive isn't revealed by vision wards, so you can use that to your advantage. If you get revealed by for example lets say a Lee Sin E and then Deceive instantly after that, you will still be visible to the enemy team, be aware of that. Don't use it at random times, because once it goes on cooldown, you won't have an escape spell. Lastly, you can use it to confuse enemies by deceiving to a different position than the way you're heading. |
|
Jack In The Box (W): This ability is your key to healthy early clears, as it provides a fear, it also can change the outcome of a fight if its placement is timed correctly. You can use it while you're in Deceive and it won't reveal you. Every time when you're fighting someone, try to place it where you think the enemy champion is going to go, or if you think the enemy will keep on fighting, just place it on top of yourself. It's good to remember that the box is smiteable and when you put it down there is a small window for the enemies to remove it, so beware of that. |
|
Two-Shiv Poison (E): Two-Shiv Poison is a really good damage source that Shaco has in his kit. Now that it deals physical damage instead of magic damage, it syncs with lethality and armor penetration. In combination with Fervor of Battle and Black Cleaver this spell does a lot of damage. It's best to throw it as late as possible, when you have the max amount of Fervor of Battle stacks and when they're low enough, as it will provide a slow and you can chase them down. |
|
Hallucinate (R): Hallucinate spawns your clone. The clone deals 75% of your damage to enemy champions and creeps, deals 35% damage to turrets and inhibitors, does AOE damage when it dies while spawning 3 mini boxes. Having your clone in fights boosts your damage immensely and also makes it a 6 versus 5 instead of the regular 5 versus 5. If you cast Hallucinate during Deceive stealth, you will not be revealed. You should always use it when you know that you can destroy the tower. It can also be used to dodge various abilities if timed correctly. |
Skill Order #1. Hallucinate 6 / 11 / 16 #2. Two-Shiv Poison 3 / 7 / 8 / 9 / 10 #3. Deceive 2 / 4 / 5 / 12 / 13 #4. Jack In The Box 1 / 14 / 15 / 17 / 18 |

You want to be maxing Two-Shiv Poison first, as this leveling path gives you damage, unlike the Deceive max. I get 3 points into Deceive early, because it gives me 3 seconds of stealth. In combination with Jack In The Box this gives me enough room for good gank paths and various escape routes. You start off with Jack In The Box because it allows you to do the first camp without taking a lot of damage, and also without a leash from the allied top or bot lane. It isn't needed to have it maxed out early, as you're not building AP items. Get a point into Hallucinate whenever you can, because it will allow you to have your clone sooner, it will also increase the explosion damage. |
