Your e in hammer stance can easily cancel her ultimate which makes her a low threat in lane and in team fights.
Akali
You can out poke her with your range and Akali has never been a strong competitive champion and Akali is melee range.
Anivia
I've had trouble against Anivia in the past when I was starting out as Jayce because if she hits her q you will be majorly harassed. But if you manage to land your e-q-r-q-w-e combo she will most likely be dead or forced into egg form. But be wary of Anivia's late game.
Kassadin
Kassadin has received many nerfs in the past and as long as you don't feed him you should be fine.
Lux
Lux may harass with her q and if she lands q-e-r combo you will explode then rest in peace Jayce but if you can land your e-q-r-q-w-e combo she is especially squishy and she doesn't have a revive passive like Anivia
Gangplank
Gangplank gets severely outranged in this matchup and if you manage to not get hit by your barrels you will win this matchup easily.
Brand
Since you have to go in deep with your hammer stance Brand will abuse this if he knows what he's doing.
Diana
Diana is a strong champion overall but you can abuse her melee range before she is level 6 and then you will win the lane.
Karthus
If you can manage to kill karthus once it won't be easy to snowball the lane and then the game.
Heimerdinger
I hate heimerdinger. If you're against heimerdinger, you might as well dodge. Even if you can play against him you will be tilted and it's not worth it :c
Annie
Annie is the same case for brand however she has much more burst and will win this lane easily
Galio
Most Galio players I've seen don't exist so I wouldn't be worried but there are some out there so be wary of their ultimates, but that last tip goes for everyone against Galio
Syndra
If Syndra lands her combo you will be dead, the same case as lux, and Anivia
Kog'Maw
Kog Maw can out poke you at level 6 but he is rather squishy so all and all it's a skill matchup. He is stronger if you don't know what you're doing as Jayce though.
Azir
Azir is a strong champion that can outpoke and out teamfight you but that doesn't matter when you can push to his inhib at 10 minutes with your w in cannon stance.
Cho'Gath
Cho Gath is a combo breaker, and you are a combo champion, you might as well laneswap with top lane.
Kennen
Kennen has strong poke, a stun and great teamfighting, you are doomed if your team doesn't know what they're doing.
Ekko
Ekko has been mediocre for a while now and he is an easy matchup for Jayce if you land your poke.
LeBlanc
Burst, and a snare, what else can you do to completely screw up a Jayce
Lulu
Lulu has very strong abilities and has a lot of utility and if she polys you, you should reposition to the very back line if you're not there already.
Malzahar
One of the few champions I believe to truly counter Jayce, if he ults you, you're done.
Nidalee
AP Nid hasn't been strong for a while now and maybe she will never be again, I wouldn't worry about her unless she's jungling or is a Nidalee main.
Orianna
If she saves her ult until teamfighting phase you will be outfought and will lose the fight almost 100% of the time. And her ult can completely shut you down
Ryze
Ryze takes a while to scale so if you can shut him down early with your burst combo (q-e-r-q-w-e) he should be a fairly easy opponent but I wouldn't recommend going hammer stance until after he has used his snare. He is not rated as high as a threat as leblanc because he doesn't have very high burst but he has a lot of combo styles to mess you up.
Lissandra
Decent against Jayce although fairly squishy.
Talon
Shut him down with your e in hammer stance after he gets out of his ultimate and you could win the fight if you're lucky.
Swain
Frustrating to play against, tanky and underrated.
Twisted Fate
Stun, strong burst late game, and good roaming so he can get fed off other lanes.
Urgot
Good poke and a strong lane unless you can dodge his e.
Varus
Equal poke but more cc, stronger twin of Jayce
Viktor
He is your enemy, slay him, he has high burst and a stun but he is no match for Jayce, just kidding he pretty much counters you.
Veigar
Strong champion, high burst, lot's of cc. Don't pick Jayce into Veigar.
Vel'Koz
Underrated with lots of burst and a safe lane phase, underpicked so don't worry about him much.
Xerath
Long and good poke, dangerous for jayce because of Xerath's stun, rarely picked same case for vel koz.
Yasuo
You can easily pop his shield and kill him in lane phase, his teamfighting is extremely good though.
Zed
Pop goes the Jayce
Ziggs
Good poke, semiweak lane phase, and good roams, you win this matchup though.
Zyra
Lots of cc, annoying poke and good teamfighting, I would say Zyra is extremely underrated.
Jayce isn't the strongest champion right now and I believe he takes some skill to learn. He is still good in the right hands currently.
Runes
Runes
Armor penetration marks are good because of the current, but fading tank meta.
MR Glyphs Is for the AP champions you might be facing, if you're against a Zed take CD Glyphs.
Armor Seals are for if you're against an AD champion, if against AP take health seals.
AD Quints are for, well AD
Masteries
Masteries
Masteries are traditional caster ADC masteries with tenacity and some caster buffs for Jayce's caster nature.
Items
Items
Manamune is for loss of mana early and late game, and Jayce is very good at stacking it.
Ionian boots are for CDR and mana stacking.
Black Cleaver is for the ranged slow and for AD and the slightest bit of tankiness.
Banshees is so you don't get cc'd or you don't die as quickly, you could get GA or Scimitar for the same reason.
Last Whisper is for Armor Penetration because it will be fairly late by them and the tanks will have a lot of defensive items.
Bloodthirster is just for sustain and survivability
Skill Sequence
Skill Sequence
You get 6 points in every ability and you will take Q>W>E in that order.
Spells
Spells
Barrier is good against assassins.
Ignite is good against poke champions that might take heal, (Xerath Ziggs etc.)
TP is good against all champions, or if you have very good map awareness.
Heal is good against assassins.
Summary
Summary
Jayce is a ranged AD caster that can be built as off-tank, poke or assassin, i prefer assassin which is what this build is above.
Ranked Play
Ranked Play
Jayce shines against squishy champions in the mid lane which is why I prefer to play him Mid>Top you will try to make the enemy poked down and hid under tower to provide pressure, try to roam once you have forced them under turret.
Pros / Cons
Pros / Cons
Pros: Good poke, strong lane, good defensive stats, very good for competitive play, Good Roams.
Cons: Almost worthless if behind, Weak against assassins
Creeping / Jungling
Creeping / Jungling
Getting a high creep score isn't difficult since you might as well use your abilities because you're going to want to use your abilities to stack your tear. And you have an empowered auto from your q. I would not recommend using your hammer stance to farm even though you get mana on every auto from hammer stance's w passive it's still dangerous because you can get harassed down to no health.
Unique Skills
Unique Skills
Jayce can put 6 points into every ability which makes him even more powerful late game.
