Why am I writing this guide?
Yes, yes, I know, Evelyn is not a viable champion for serious LoL gaming atm, but I occasionally have an irresistible urge to play Evelyn when normal-queuing with friends. It's a lot of fun to play. It's certainly a challenge. It's a bit harder to win games, but it's always funny to hear the other team complain when you are killing them left and right. Also, a glance at the current guides all seem out of date (probably because no one plays Evelyn), plus I've never seen this type of role for Evelyn, so bear with me.

Why roam?
Well... Evelyn doesn't really have a reason for being in lane. Her main utility is in inspiring fear in the opponent team, and having them play passively, or pay for overextending carelessly. While you could roam with other summoner skills, I take smite because I walk in the opponent jungle between lane ganks, and can mess with their jungler.

Why wouldn't I just play jungle/roam Twitch?
Uhh... because he cannot...kick people with high heel shoes? No really, twitch is better in almost every way (aoe slow instead of single target, ranged, has expulsion), but nothing is as satisfying as showing off to your friends by carrying them with Evelyn, right?

Pros
giving 3 solo lanes
constantly disrupting other team lanes and jungle
double lane ganking with your actual jungler, and provides slow+armor/mr shredding
decent counterjungle once you get madreds/wriggles, and can take dragon pretty fast with ult
You are kicking *** with Evelyn

Cons
needs 3 solos + jungler, eve can't really jungle worth **** atm...
you're going to be pretty poor unless you are ganking well - but this is also an incentive
Your friends may hate you forever for playing Evelyn with them
This...probably falls under trolling, both your team and the other team... but hey you're having fun, right?

Runes

Runes are pretty free to do whatever, if you want more aggression feel free to run more damage-oriented runes. My personal opinion is that no matter what you do, Evelyn won't be outputting tons of damage as a result of what you get from runes/masteries, so I prefer to run tankier and with focus on increasing move speed to let me roam more quickly.

Quints: Honestly, the only runes that really matter are your Quints, which I recommend Greater Quintessence of Movement Speed, if you really want you can use Greater Quintessence of Ability Power for early damage, or Greater Quintessence of Gold for income
Marks: Greater Mark of Attack Speed for faster counterjungling, you can run Greater Mark of Magic Penetration, or even Greater Mark of Armor here.
Seals: Greater Seal of Armor for earlier game tankyness, you can also use Greater Seal of Scaling Mana Regeneration for sustain or Greater Seal of Gold for more gold
Glyphs: Greater Glyph of Scaling Magic Resist, can run Greater Glyph of Cooldown Reduction or Greater Glyph of Scaling Ability Power as well.

Masteries

I take 0/21/9 for reasons above, mostly to get the movespeed and tenacity. If you feel like you aren't earning enough gold, feel free to get the gold masteries/runes (9/0/21 for mpen or 0/9/21 for hp). I main supports, so I'm used to not having much gold without successful ganks/dragon/baron/tower. Your main role is to slow and reduce resistance early game to feed your solo lanes anyways.

Of course, you can decide to go aggressive with 21/9/0 or 21/0/9, but honestly, you're damage output really isn't as important as how much you can be ganking lanes

Skill Sequence

W-E-W-Q to get 2 lvls of invis, which is usually enough stealth time (20s!), and a level in Q for proc-ing sheen later. After this, prioritize R>E>Q>W
Again, your goal is to successfully gank lanes, and E is the most important spell for this!

Summoner Spells

I take Smite for counterjungling/securing dragon fast with 2 smites, and Ignite for extra gank damage (usually top and bottom do not use ignite)

I sincerely recommend smite. with a few wards or by watching their jungle gank a lane, you can steal buffs once you get your madreds/wriggles, steal buffs simply by smiting from invis, and also just general trolling of the other jungler.

For your second summoner...ignite definitely if they have high heal/regen. Otherwise Exhaust is also good, as is Teleport. I've never tried running Heal...I guess the Evelyn bait is pretty effective, but who knows?

Items

Core: Boots of Mobility, Sheen, Wriggle's Lantern.
Aside from that....I usually go for Rabadon's Deathcap + lichbane. Grab a Void Staff if they get MR. Rylai gives good utility (since you can proc Q constantly). hourglass/ banshees for resistance. Grab better armor if you need to. Frozen Heart is esp good if your team doesn't have one. Play smart, see the other team, who's doing well, and build appropriately. With the core items, you will be able to successfully harass the other teams in lane, and counter jungle. If they have a weak jungler, you can even try and sneak a kill when he's low.

Team Work

This is pretty central to a successful and fun Evelyn game. Communicate with your team! tell them if you are going to gank, and try and coordinate with your jungler by either double-ganking or just taking turns trolling a lane. Pay attention to the other team's position, and call out pushes/dragons. With 2 smites, and possibly 2+wriggles(some junglers don't get one), you can take them very quickly.

For team comp, I'd suggest a gank-heavy jungler like Rammus, Udyr, Skarner, Lee Sin, Riven, etc, and then 3 solo lanes. Mid and top solos are still as before, snowball champs are a plus because they will be getting twice the amount of ganks, i.e. lane advantage. Bot solo is the key here. You need someone who can 2v1 well, and still farm. Top choices here are Morgana and Nasus. Mordekaiser would work, but after the nerf isnt as strong. Rumble/ Cho'Gath might also work. The idea is they will always be pushed to their turret by the opponent ad//support lane, but can still quickly farm under tower to prevent the turret from dying.

Ask your team to warn you of pink wards in lanes. That'll prevent awkward situations of well... a fatal nature.

Gameplay

Early game:
Smite-steal the opponent's blue wraith or the larger of the double small golems or the big wolf at every opportunity. This is going to be your main source of income for a while in addition to ganks, sorry=/. Be very grateful if someone asks you to hold their lane. Take this chance to get some more gold! Your goal here is to get a wriggles. This lets you ward their jungle buff, and lets you steal jungle faster if the other jungler goes to gank a lane while their buff is up. You want to also constantly poke at the enemy lanes by roaming around. E PROCS INVIS SLOW. always start a gank with that. Tell your lane you are ganking, and then just harass them. Don't go too aggressive here, without a sheen your damage is pretty abysmal. The idea is just to prevent the other team from farming well, because they will die if they actually overextend. But feel free to just poke them with E, hit, and run away. The important bit is to not die yourself, and just giving all your lanes an advantage. Playing Evelyn this way takes a surprising amount of patience.

Midgame: by the time you get your sheen, you will be dishing out TONS-OF-DAM...no, not really. But at least the other team will start feeling your pokes. If your ganks have gone off successfully, your sheen will be early enough that its damage is a significant boost to your ganks. Also keep an eye out for jungle opportunities. With any kind of tank, you can take dragon. With 2 jungles, this should be possible as early as lvl 6... Use a pink ward! Dragon opportunities include killing bot lane, killing their jungler, watching their jungler or mid lane gank top, etc etc. Need to also stress: this is the point to build up your team advantage, and end the game ASAP! Evelyn is the strongest at this point in the game. If you can pull off good ganks and counterjungling, great! You will be able to get your deathcap and whatever else you need to boost damage/survivability. Use this advantage to ninja kills and push to win!

Late game: for you, this is great. You'll be doing decent damage, can take some punishment, etc. Your role is to increase the delay time between your team reaching "late game" and the opponent team doing the same. If they do...uh... sorry...good luck... Evelyn is going to be pretty boned.=/ Your only hope is to act as a shiny beacon...of bait. Take as many spells as you can while you dive heroically for their ap/ad carries. They will probably have an oracles or 2 for you.

All game: have fun trolling the other team. Friendly banter over all-chat is particularly recommended. Make sure they know how sad it is that they are feeding an Evelyn^^.

Understand that this guide will probably not give you the secret to solo-carrying. It's just a fun option to do with friends, and works reasonably well, too. It's also pretty much the only way of having a viable Evelyn role.=P
