The masteries shown here are not yet updated for the current season, the guide author needs to set up the new masteries. As such, they will be different than the masteries you see in-game.
Threats to Fiddlesticks with this build
|Amumu||Very easy to deal with, aside his bandage toss, his mobility is pretty much bad as yours. You can take most out of EQW combo with him.|
Welcome to the league of Fiddlesticks.
Now, here is why you should play Fiddlesticks in League of legends RIGHT NOW.
Fiddlesticks is like a "hidden" amazing champion right now. In the Patch 6.9 he ended up getting a biiiiiiig buff (I'll list below).
I love seeing people freak out when they hear my party poppers pop.
I get in there and I'm like SURPRISE MO- BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHA.
Anyways, he has gotten suuuuuuper strong and hardly anyone uses him right now, which is completely strange. In my opinion, he should be banned in Ranked queue right after Malzahar.
Allow me to explain what he went through in the Patch 6.9 first.
Fiddlesticks' Passive has been completely reworked.
His passive used to drop surrounding champion's Magic resistance by 10, but now it has been changed to the following:
After not moving for 1.5 seconds. Immobilizing crowd control resets this timer. If Fiddlesticks has Dread, moving causes him to gain bonus movement speed.
Duration: 1.5 seconds
Movement Speed: 25/30/35/40% (at levels 1/6/11/16)
Now you're saying "so what, extra movement speed but only for 1.5 seconds, how is that going to help?"
The thing is, you will be using your passive THE WHOLE GAME. Every time you drain or you are channeling your ultimate, you activate this passive, where allows you to run heck loads faster towards the enemy champions.
It means, unlike before where the enemy could just run away from your ulti, YOU CAN NOW CATCH UP WITH THEM WITHOUT ONLY RELYING ON FLASH!
Fiddlestick has two weaknesses;
1. Slow and restricted mobility
2. Basic attacks are low damage dealing
This passive allows you to increase your mobility, therefore you can now finally follow up using your other skills without having to rely on flash or another team member's CC.
Next is his Q "Terrify".
The range has been decreased from 575 to 525, now normally this would be a bad thing, but it really is not. Because of his new passive, 50 range is not really much, your 20~40% movement speed covers that 5 loss of range. So, in the end, it really isn't something to cry over.
Now... his W "Drain"
Ohhhhhh man, one of the biggest reason why he has suddenly gotten OP is because of this buff right here. Cooldown lowered from 10/9/8/7/6 seconds to 4/3.75/3.5/3 seconds, but the cooldown only begins at the end of Drain's channel.
His cooldown for Drain reduced by 250%!!!!!! Meaning, MOAR DRAAAAAAAINS. Now this is reaaally helpful, especially in the Jungle.
If you remember Jungling with Fiddlesticks before this patch, from lvl 1 to lvl 3, you could never gank because your health was always too low to do so, but with this, your health will always be above 80% within the jungle, never fail (except of course you get counter jungled and make silly mistakes), this also improves your speed in clearing the jungle.
His E "Dark Wind" is very similar, it bounces were increased from 5 to 7 targets, and it prioritizes draining targets.
In 6.10 Patch, target has been decreased from 7 to 6.
I will go into combos down below, however, this "prioritizes draining targets" is a very important factor to our combo.
Finally his Ultimate, Crowstorm not much as changed, literally only thing they added was the "on my way" ping, they added when you ulti, which is super helpful.
Finally, here is a video from youtube, just going little bit more in depth to this patch and with visuals.
FIDDLESTICKS THE NEW OP?
Below level 6
This combo is for those sneaky buggers not to run away with a skill before you have a chance to get close to put your Q on them.
silences them, go in for the and finally .
Now, depending on the champions that you are versing, people like:
are slippery mid laners, and it is fairly difficult to gank or let alone get close to them. Your E has longer range than your Q, remember this.
Above level 6
(Ganking lane with less than or equal to 2 people)
-> -> ->
Initiating a fight
Now your ultimate does the "on my way" ping already, so even in solo queue, your team mates should be able to understand that you will be initiating.
Now, NEVER initiate unless you have the Zhonya's Hourglass.
-> -> ->
And now you have two choices, either use ONLY IF YOU BELIEVE YOU HAVE THE TIME AND YOU CAN LIVE, if the entire team jumps towards you, then hit Zhonya's Hourglass. Your ulti, E and Q should have done enough CC and damage, even if you didn't use drain.
Pros / Cons
- Very high dealing champion
- Mid/late game strong
- Allows large area of affect jump scare
- Fear and Silence allows broad range and multiple target CC
- Weak and slow basic attacks
- Very slow, mobility is limited (better now in 6.9 patch) however, still slow compared to others.
- Difficult champion to play, must know when to use ultimate, and when to initiate.
- Squishy initiator, if you dont get your combo correct, you can die so easily
- "all or nothing" champion, meaning you dont usually get a second chance, you go in with your full combo and deal as much damage as possible, but if you fail, you have no means of escape aside .
gromp -> blue sentinel -> wolves -> razorbeaks
At this point, have a look around, mid top and bot, if they are getting pushed, you could help them out. At this point, you will be level 3, so you should have Q W and E ready to go. If your own team has been pushing too far, then dont bother ganking for them and go back into your jungle.
Red brambleback -> krug -> GANK
Of mind you, you can easily kill the rift scuttler with Q and W. Dont bother wasting your mana on trying to kill it with E.
krug -> red brambleback -> razorbeaks
*level 3* Either gank or go back into jungle
blue sentinel -> wolves -> gromp
Gank either bot or mid.
Now... Teleport is one way to play the game, it was popular pick when playing him Mid, however it is seriously not advised to use teleport to new comers.
Now because of the new buff in his passive , you COULD have teleport instead of . However, with teleport, comes with sudden ganks against the enemy team. As stated above, fiddlesticks has slow movement speed, so if teleport was used correctly for ganking lanes, it would help out tremendously.
Few tips on using Fiddlesticks successfully:
- Remember to use whenever you need it.
- Try to be as creative as you can when you gank, remember, his ultimate allows you to jump over hedges, towers, and walls. Be creative as much as possible.
- Knowing exactly when to use your ultimate is crucial, make sure you communicate with your team members to let them know that you will be coming in for the gank, and which location. Communication is very important.
Anyways, Thank you all for reading. Good luck and have fun!
UPDATE PATCH 6.10
They found out Fiddlesticks is OP. They reduced Darkwind's bounce from 7 to 6. Still doing tons of damages though! Oh and some stupid animation has been added, after 5 seconds of not moving, he turns into a "scarecrow".... his animation just stops, that's it. lol
