Introduction


Hello my name is Desertgoat

and this is my first build and this will be ruff but bare with me. I will try to get you're Fiora game going in no time with this guide. I know a lot of us don't like to read anything in the guide but rather just go straight for the builds and leave which is okay because I do that all the time. But for those of you who are looking for that in depth guide for Fiora, you have come to the right place. I have found myself having pretty good games and I would like to extend this to you all. I have found that more often than not being an effective Fiora will cause the enemy team to do one of two things; try to shut you down or QQ and surrender at 20. A good amount of the time I am successful in my lane, there is a surrender at 20 or a little later, I am going to get you to that point in Fiora the Sneaky Carry guide.

Fiora, Demacia’s most notorious duelist, earned her fame with her sharp blade and sharper tongue. She boasts the refinement of an aristocratic upbringing, and a fierce devotion to the perfection of her craft. Having surpassed her peers at home, Fiora now seeks greater foes. She will settle for nothing less than the world’s acknowledgement of her mastery.
As the youngest child of House Laurent, a family known for its long line of elite duelists, Fiora considered herself destined for greatness. She longed to match the skill of her father, a legendary swordsman, and her talent quickly surpassed that of her siblings. Fiora’s peers perceived her confidence as arrogance, but she dismissed them, striving even harder to become a worthy successor to her father. Her devotion turned out to be misplaced. On the eve of an arranged duel, authorities caught Fiora’s father slipping a paralysis poison into his opponent’s drink. His treachery destroyed the family’s reputation, and Fiora’s own honor fell under question. Outraged and desperate to clear her name, she challenged her father to a duel. Though he fought with power and style, Fiora realized the man had long forgotten the discipline that defined a true duelist. She disarmed him, and with her blade to his chest, she demanded control of House Laurent. Her father surrendered, but even in victory, Fiora knew the shadow of doubt still tainted her reputation. Intent to seize her destiny, Fiora vows to surpass her father’s false legacy and prove that she is not only the greatest duelist in Demacia – but all of Valoran.

Masteries



- This mastery is going to go very well with Fiora as her Burst of Speed is going to go well with furies bump in speed.

- The added cool-down reduction from sorcery is gonna help with Fiora's cooldowns while bursting down enemy champions.

- Damage per level bump.

- This is going to add some extra damage while initiating on an enemy.

- An extra 5 attack damage at the start.

- With this added mastery we are going to get 5% more damage dealt to a champion under 50% health with 3 points in this mastery.

- We are going to get a attack speed boost from this mastery when we engage.

- Increases our attack damage by 5%, yes please.

- We get an added armor pen here, helpful for those tanky champs.

- An increase in damage by 3%.

- This will help in trading damage.

- Increases our healing, useful when against ranged champs.

- added armor and magic resist

- an increase to your health.

- This gives us even more health, making it difficult to shut us out of lane early game.

Summoner Spells


Personal Summoner Spells


I personally like to go with Flash and Exhaust when taking Fiora top lane. I prefer Flash for those quick escapes over walls or just away from the enemy team until I can get back into the fight. Exhaust is my other choice in spells. Exhaust so going to overall help you catch champions who may barely escape or bring a enemy champions stats low enough for you to finish them off.




Other Viable spells


Another good choice for Fiora. Ignite is always a good choice if you want to go full kill lane. It will help to catch those pesky champs who escape with a little health left.

I personally do not like ghost but I have seen the possibilities it opens. Ghost is a good choice when you find yourself lacking in the speed department, another option for you if you don't want to sacrifice a item slot or runes.

I have always felt that if your lane was in danger you shouldn't leave it unguarded. However every game is different and more often that not your jungle can not and or will not be able to hold your lane. So for those who like to be in multiple places at once to stop that backdoor or if you just want to get to your lane quickly this is your spell.

Skills



Understanding a Champions skill set is important for good game play and even more so total understanding of how they are used and how they work is vital for good decision making and good game play. with that in mind lets look at what makes Fiora the sneaky carry.

Passive - Fiora regenerates 7 (+1 per level) health over 6 seconds each time she deals physical damage. Striking champions will cause this effect to stack up to 4 times. This passive is like a baby version of Garen but is only activated when damage is delt to a champ or creep. However during mid to late game it falls off being useful so don't rely on it.



Lunge - Fiora dashes forward to strike her target, dealing 40 / 65 / 90 / 115 / 140 (+0.6 per bonus attack damage) physical damage. Fiora can perform the dash a second time within a couple seconds at no mana cost. This is your gap closer. Remember that this ability is two dashes in one granted that you use it within the allowed time. The unique part about this ability is you can dash to a minion then dash to your opponent, closing a significant gap, a little like Renekton



Riposte - Fiora's Attack Damage is increased by 15 / 20 / 25 / 30 / 35. When activated, Fiora parries the next basic attack and reflects 60 / 110 / 160 / 210 / 260 (+100% of ability power) magic damage back to the attacker. Works against champions, monsters, and large minions. Welcome to the glory of pain. This pride and joy in Fiora's abilities is your damage steroid. You will want to level this ability up every opportunity you get. But that is not all, along with granting permanent attack damage upon activation it's a shield that reflects damage back to the attacker! The amount of damage is usually significant to save your skin if used correctly. If you find yourself about to be in a fight you may want to use this ability ASAP as the first basic attack is going right back at them. Extremely useful against champions such as Darius, Master Yi, Tryndamere and others who rely on their basic attacks for damage. It is also useful against champions who like to poke with their ranged attacks like Elise.



Burst of speed - Fiora gains 60 / 75 / 90 / 105 / 120 % additional Attack Speed for 3 seconds. Each basic attack or Lunge she lands during this time increases her Movement Speed by 7 / 9 / 11 / 13 / 15 % for 3 seconds, stacking up to 3 times. Killing a champion refreshes the cool-down on Burst of Speed, while assists reduce the cool-down by half of the base amount.This ability is going to be your speed steroid. At higher levels this will be what keeps you from dying and helps you chase down enemy champions who try to flee from a fight. Upon killing enemy champs or getting assist you can activate this ability which keeps you on a permanent speed boots until your enemy's are: all dead, to far away to catch, or have killed you quick enough. This ability has the same concept as Dravens Blood Rush, the important thing to remember is when in a fight keep your speed boost up. Note: remember that this ability is reliant on basic attacks to trigger. If you cannot catch the enemy but there is creeps near by, activate the ability and attack a minion to grant you a speed boost to try and catch them.


Blade Waltz - Fiora dashes around the battlefield to strike random enemy champions 5 times, dealing 160 / 330 / 500 (+1.2 per bonus attack damage) physical damage per strike. Successive strikes against the same target deal 25% of the damage, up to a maximum of 320 / 660 / 1000 (+2.4 per bonus attack damage) physical damage on a single target. Each strike applies on-hit effects. Welcome to pain central. The is the source of all QQ you are going to get. This ability is extremely strong and should be used wisely. You can use this to initiate on an enemy team or to finish off fleeing enemies, the choice is yours when and what to use it for. Remember that this ability bounces five times to random targets so beware of using it on a full health enemy team as you may find yourself out of position and very kill-able. Know when you can survive an encounter and when to back out as Fiora will make you drunk with the idea that you are untouchable. Note that this ability could be used to save yourself if you are low health and about to get ganked or dived as every hit counts toward your passive and any life steal you may have.

Leveling up your W Riposte is your most important skill in the beginning. Granting permanent damage boost and a shield that reflects the first basic attack. Remember this is your bread and butter for early and continued attack damage so take it when ever possible.

How To: So the idea behind this ability is that you are gonna want to use it when you feel that the enemy champion is about to auto attack you. In the early laning phase this is going to deny simple pokes that other champions may try to get in. Elise is a good example of this as she is normally chosen for top lane. Remember that this skill does not deflect anything other than basic attacks like Cocoon so if you find that you are being harassed with anything other than basic attack you will need to adjust your play style as you wont be able to use Riposte.


The second ability you are gonna want to level up is Burst of Speed. This ability is going to be your speed steroid increasing your attack speed and your movement speed.

How To: Burst of Speed is your speed booster so there are a few ways you can use it. Because this ability increases your attack speed and movement speed you can use this ability to run away or catch fleeing enemies. Killing a enemy champion refreshes the cool-down and assist cuts it down to half. So say you are in a prolonged fight with the enemy, after killing one of them or getting an assist your ability will refresh or drop to half which means you need to use it again so you can get back up to full attack speed. This ability can be abused in team fights as the enemy team champions drop provided that you keep up with when the ability is back up. Activating this ability right before you use your Lunge or basic attack is the optimal time as it will trigger the ability. Note that there is no RIGHT time to use this ability but an optimal time.


Lunge is your gap closer and in some unique situations your escape as well. Lunge can be performed two time back to back like Renekton's Slice and Dice however it is reliant that you target an enemy champion or creep.


How To: Lunge is like stated previously your gap closer. During the early laning phase you will be able to use this to harass enemy champions and return to your side of the lane. Any time you see an opening against enemy champions use Lunge against them or if they try to harass you, use it to punish them for it. Remember that you can use this ability twice in a row with no cool-down so don't forget to use both charges.



Blade Waltz is the master of OP irritation from other players. No matter how far the enemy runs they will not be able to get away from you when you are performing your ultimate. What is even better if they all disperse you will do extra damage to the target that was segregated.


How To: Blade Waltz makes you temporarily untargetable. However you if you have already been targeted by an ability say like Fiddlesticks's Bountiful Harvest it does not interrupt it, so you will still get drained until Fiddlesticks is killed or interrupted by someone else so beware of this when using your ultimate. There are going to be many different situations when you are going to be able to use Blade Waltz and times when you should not. Good times when you should use it is when; the enemy team is low and your team is near by OR you have been fed enough to finish them off, when you are low on health fighting an enemy champion; this will allow your cool-downs time to come down. It is not a good idea to use your Ultimate on a enemy champion who is at full health returning to top lane like Garen. Note that there are many possibilities of when to use your ultimate and when not to but it is up to the user when that time is as there is no right or wrong time.

Items + Explanation


So.. when choosing our items it is always nice to know how they benefit us and how they synergize with champions, helping us make better choices... hopefully. A good majority of the time that you play Fiora effectively, more often than not you will find that the enemy team will quit early, which keeps you from getting to your full build but encase that doesn't happen lets go over the items anyway. Also it is important to note that every game will be different and some items may not work in set games so build accordingly. Pay attention to who is doing well on the enemy team.

- Another good starting item as it gives health, armor, and deflects damage from enemy champions.

Ravenous Hydra

- Is by far the most important item that you are going to want to buy. I cannot stress this enough. This item energizes with Fiora like peanut butter goes with bologna.... well okay so they don't go together at all but this item is a MUST. The synergy it provides for your game is unparalleled on a magical level.

This bad boy is going to give you the damage you need to hit really hard and be able to have a TON of sustain which is vital in being in top lane.
Note. Remember to activate your item at the appropriate time. The low cool-down will allow you to use it when you need it so don't be shy with it. Remember that upon activation it causes damage to surrounding enemies granting extra damage that may turn the tide of a fight.

Blade of The Ruined King

- This item is going to give you a slow, damage and attack speed which will help with your Burst of Speed stacks. Not only does this item give you life steal, Deals 5% of the target's current Health in bonus physical damage. For tanky champions such as; Garen, Nasus, Elise, Jax and other that you will meet on top lane, this item is going to help you whittle their health down quickly. But that isn't all, along with the: life steal, attack speed, 5% extra damage it also has a passive, Deals 15% of target champion's maximum Health as physical damage, heals for the same amount, and steals 30% of the target's Movement Speed for 4 seconds. This is going to help you catch enemy champions trying to flea from you or give you that little bit of health you need to survive an Ignite that other wise would have been fatal.
Note. Remember that this item requires that you activate it as well. Forgetting to activate this item could mean the difference between that double kill from that gank that just came in for the dive to a simple clean up kill for the enemy team.

Boots of Speed



+ = 900


pretty straight forward boots. Grants 20 attack speed and movement speed. If you find yourself lacking a little in the attack speed area or just want to go with the added speed go for these. I personally use these for the added speed in attack. Every little bit of extra speed or damage I can get I usually go for so these boots are the prime choice.

The Black Cleaver



+ = 2865


Is a good item as it is going to give you cool-down reduction and armor Pen. for the pesky armored top lane champs like; Garen, Renekton, Nasus, Malphite. No special requirement for this item.



Bloodthirster



+ = 3200

This item is going to grant you life steal that scales as you get kills and assist however be aware that you lose half your stacks when you are killed. A good option for those who need more sustain during mid to late game. No special requirement for this item.




Infinity Edge



+ + = 3800

A wonderful damage dealer that gives critical hits a healthy boost in the damage department. A recommended item to take when you need more damage to deal significantly more damage. No special requirements for this item.




Warmogs Armor



+ + + = 2830


This is a good item to grab if you find yourself lacking in the health department and find yourself dying because the enemy team has substantial damage out put, or you dont like to return back to base as often for health. No special requirements for this item.




Other Viable Items



This is other items that you can choose from with quick details on them

Good damage dealer and gives a good amount of health

A good item to counter a fed Katarina or Veigar.

You can pick this item up if you feel like your attacking to slow and want to go more for critical hits rather than doing raw damage.

Optional choice if you find yourself needing health and armor. It also comes with a slow to help you catch your enemies or get away.

If you are going for attack speed and critical damage this is the item for you.

If speed is the name of the game for you then this could be a substitute, with the added attack speed, movement speed, and attack damage you wont be disappointed.

This is a good alternative to Black Cleaver.
