Introduction
Pros
|
+ Good sustained damage + Strong scaling + Great poke + Strong laning + High AOE burst + Very strong ult + Lots of utility |
Orianna can be extremely strong if played correctly. She has a incredibly high sustained damage output due to her Command: Attack and her passive Clockwork Windup. She has a great early poke combo and therefore a good landing faze. She has extremely strong scaling and can carry easily late game. She also has one of the strongest team fighting ults in the game. |
Cons
|
- Can be shut down in lane - Is weak without core items - Almost no mobility - Difficult to play - Missing ult can be costly |
Orianna has many strengths but can be shut down hard in the landing faze. She has very almost no escapes if she gets behind, she can have a very hard time coming back because she relies heavily on her core items to be strong. She is also very difficult to play as her ball can be difficult to keep track of in a team fight and missing Command: Shockwave puts her team at a large disadvantage. |
12/18/0 Masteries
FerocityTIER 1: Sorcery gives all your spells some extra damage witch is much better for you than attack speed. TIER 2: You get a bit of helpful sustain with Feast. Double Edged Sword for ranged is really not good value as it provides no real bonus. TIER 3: Both Natural Talent and Vampirism have very low upsides. The AP and AD from Natural Talent is just a bit better. TIER 4: Oppressor gives quite a nice bonus when used with your Command: Dissonance. |
CunningTIER 1: Wanderer and Savagery are basically interchangeable depending on weather you want to roam more or just want to sit in lane. It's just personal preference. TIER 2: Secret Stash will provide you with a bit of extra effective health and some mana. It also makes your potions last a bit longer. TIER 3: Merciless is a great mastery, however the mana regeneration from Meditation is very good for Orianna. TIER 4: Dangerous Game can save you in team fights and helps you keep using abilities when you run out of mana in team fights. TIER 5: Precision is very helpful and raises your damage output a bit. Intelligence is good but not necessary for Orianna. KEYSTONE: Thunderlord's Decree is much stronger than Deathfire Touch . Deathfire Touch does much less base damage and the damage is halved for AOE abilities, and all of Orianna's abilities are AOE. |
Runes
Main Runes
Greater Glyph of Magic Resist gives you some protection against heavy AP burst and you also don't get poked out of lane as easily.
Greater Seal of Armor protects you from AD heavy match-ups and makes you bit more durable.
Greater Quintessence of Ability Power gives you 15 AP right from the start, really helps with your damage in lane.

Marks & Quintessences
Not much for these because not much else if a viable substitute. greater mark of hybrid penetration is also strong for Orianna because it makes her auto-attack trades stronger. The only other Quintessences are Greater Quintessence of Movement Speed. These are great for dodging skillshots in skillshot heavy mach-ups like Xerath or Brand.
