Hi guys my name is killer2101. This is my first guide on mobafire so dont be to harsh if i dont get it all perfect. The champion im talking about today is irelia. She is The champion i have mainly played with since ive got her. So hold on and well get straight to making you a certified bad ***.

For irelia runes are an endless possibility. Most of you will consider my rune choices a bit weird but with irelia i normally like attack speed specifically because of her hiten style. and when i get these it lets me forgoe getting berserkers greaves and obtain ionic boots of lucidity.

My masteries are pretty normal 21-0-9. With the only thing being out of the ordinary is the extra turrent damage. Feel free to change this if you want for a little more damage somewhere but destroying turrets is what wins the game so every little bit helps. I choose these masteries because you will die but you wanna get right back to playing as fast as possible. and early on i have had mana problems with irelia so the regen helps greatly.

Pros. Cons
Very good damage. No range besides her ult.
Sustain matching or exceeding ww. Cant tank like ww.
Ultimate that can nab you an easy kill without turret diving. Will get told she needs nerfed.
dances with swords :) Can be squishy.

My item selection is fairly different from others ive seen. Here ill explain why i chose the items and what would be a good replacement if you were looking for something else.
Wits end. Gives amazing stats on irelia. Attack speed magic resist and a great few passives.
Alternate choices. Maw of Malmortius. Which after you have obtained infinity edge you will go back and sell wits end for this anyways for the attack damage and awesome shield.
Ionic boots of lucidity. Where im concerned cooldown reduction is important on most champions and she is no exception.
Alternate choices. Mercury treads.
Trinty force. Every stat gives her something she needs plus amazing passives.
Alternate choices. None;)
Nashors tooth. Attack speed cooldown reduction and mana regen are all great the only so so stat is ability power which is not as needed as other things.
Alternate choices. Bloodthirster, Phantom Dancer, Or last whisper.
Guardian angel. I chose this because armor and magic resist are more important than health for an assassin plus a passive that can let you get kills you wouldnt have other wise.
Alternate choices. If you would not like to get this item its a personal decision i havent made so its buyers choice.
Infinity edge. Gives you a big boost to attack damage and critical strike.

Start with one point in equilibrium strike because it can really help secure first blood or get away from being first blood. I then move on and get a single point in blade surge just for a little help farming with the last hit passive on it which gives you mana back and an automatic cool-down and to have a little poke if they get to aggressive. Then i jump straight go hit-en style and max it out while taking the point in the ultimate at 6. hit-en style gives you a good passive with sustain which you can use to build your health back up on minions if you don't wanna waste a health pot and when activated doubles your sustain on it to 26 per hit and it does stack against turrets. When activated it also gives you 75 true damage on each attack. It might not sound like much but at the end of this build you will have around a 2.0 attack speed so in that 6 seconds you get 12 basic attacks which is 900 unstoppable damage. There are options for more damage but ill talk about this later. Next we max equilibrium strike for the increased slow and stun duration. remember if they have higher OR equal health it will stun them instead. A stun can mean the difference between getting killed and getting away or getting a kill yourself. We max bladesurge last because it doesnt stack so well with level but does stack 100 percent of ad which will make it a hard hitter even when its level one.

When playing a more aggressive irelia you will need to get to them without auto attacking and jump straight into them with your e. When you do that they will be stunned so activate your hiten style and jump into attacking with out remorse. If you want a little bit more damage because you dont think you can take them out without it using bladesurge right after an auto attack will help. It procs on hit effects and resets your auto attack animation so if you auto attack use it right after youll immediately have another auto attack making it 3 attacks within 1,5 seconds which will prob your true damage effect on your hiten style 3 times. doing the same thing with your e will also help considering it also resets your attack animation. i normally like to save bladesurge and only use my e once and save it to for if they try to run away. But if your not worried about that or you have your ultimate up go crazy on them using all of your abilities as soon as there off cooldown. Remember your ultimate is on a short cooldown dont feel bad wasting it on a kill thats what there their for.
