Introduction

You got bad teamates? Feeders that die every fight because they are not a tank and they run into 5 opponents? Janna + noob teamates = win.

Throw a Eye of the Storm on your stupid teamate, let them run in. When your Eye of the Storm breaks and the opponents still not dead, ulty. Then re sheild the stupid. Hopefully the smart players on your team will kill them.

Janna is the best support in the game. That new chick, Sona? What a joke. Get the blue buff, 40% cd, 6 second cd Eye of the Storm 8 second cd Howling Gale, 5 second cd Zephyr. Nothing is better than a 600 damage absorber sheild asuming you have like 200 ap which is EASY to obtain. Get a mejais soul stealer, and a Banshee veil. Its like Auto win with janna.

Summoner Spells

Always get Heal and Clarity, If your not getting away from fights, then your doing something wrong so you should not need Ghost / Flash / Exhaust etc.

Flash AND Ghost ON JANNA???? If you can't kite, or get away with her 500 move speed you have problems and probably shouldn't be playing janna

As Janna you should always be near your team, a Janna in base is a useless Janna, so thats why Heal and Clarity is so much better then the rest of the summoner spells available, however if you feel that u can go without ONE of these summoner spells i recomend using Clairvoyance instead.

Runes

You don't need mp5 or movement speed on janna. ALL AP. her Eye of the Storm wins and it shields more with more AP. You get Mp5 from blue buff and speed from your Zephyr passive.
If you REALLY feel like you can't play decent like this you can in worst case get movement speed quints but it should not be needed.

Masteries

You can run with pretty much whatever you want as your masterys, but i recommend picking up 21 points in utility for Cooldown reduction and MP5 aswell as improved Clarity and Clairvoyance.

Items

First item you should get is Catalyst the Protector because its cheap and it provides what you need to stay in lane longer without having to recall aswell as some nice stats, then Boots for the obvious, then Mejai's Soulstealer wich will be your source of AP and as Janna you should have no problems getting assists and no problems dying, then Banshee's Veil for stats and survivability, then finish your boots.
Mercury's Treads if your getting cc'd, Boots of Swiftness if your not. After that, get Zhonya's Hourglass to be able to survive times when enemy team focus you, if your game is still going, get Will of the Ancients, if you need more than that your not playing Janna right. Because the game should be over by now. If your not at roughly 100-150 minion kills by the end of the game, your doing something wrong.

Skill Sequence

This is how you should pick your abilitys

lvl 1- E - Eye of the Storm
lvl 2- Q - Howling Gale
lvl 3- E - Eye of the Storm
lvl 4- W - Zephyr
lvl 5- E - Eye of the Storm
lvl 6- R - Monsoon

max out E - Eye of the Storm then W - Zephyr then Q - Howling Gale Get R - Monsoon at lvl 6, 11 and 16.

We max out E first because its your bread and butter, in teamfights you will have your shield on CD all the time otherwise your doing it wrong.
Second we max out W because that is your "nuke", your slow and your movement speed.
We only grab one rank of your Q at lvl 2 because you are not a Dps so you only need one rank to be able to CC the enemy team.

Summary

Tip #1, Play aggressive in your lane. XP denieing is very important.

Tip #2, Always get blue buff before team fights if possible.

Tip #3, Buy 2-3 Sight ward each time you go back to the base. Ward other teams golem, dragon and baron aswell as important chokepoints.

Tip #4, Always spam Eye of the Storm before fights, 6 second CD sheild lasts 10 seconds.

Tip #5, Always get Heal and Clarity, If your not getting away from fights, then your doing something wrong (can change one of these to Clairvoyance if you can handle it).

Tip #6, Never use Heal before you ulty. Always ulty first then Heal because of the longer cd on Heal.

Tip #7, If you have a AD teamate like Twitch, Caitlyn, Ashe or Pantheon etc. Always keep your Eye of the Storm on them since it does not only shield them but also gives them extra AD.

Tip #8, Always protect your carries. A tank does not need your Eye of the Storm if your carry is taking damage.

Tip #8, SPAM Howling Gale, a perfect Howling Gale can make it so you can kite the other team easily while your team kills them.

Tip #9, SPAM YOUR Zephyr, keeping other teams mele slowed gives you the advantage, because they can't do any damage.

Tip #10, If your getting focuses, stay back, If you happened to get switched on, USE YOUR ULTY TO SAVE YOURSELF. You are the team, If janna dies then no sheild or heal. If anything, you want the other team to focus you, then you kite them to town.

Tip #11, Your ulty is the Biggest key in winning games, A perfect ulty will win games. Play Janna several times before playing ranked games.

Tip #12, Know your opponents spells before running in. If they have a kassadin you need to stay back. Never run in to a fight to ulty, if your going to get silenced.

Tip #13, If you can't make it into the middle of the fight to ulty, Ulty behind your team to heal them.
