This is my build for Kassadin. It gives good speed, Decent damage and Good Ability power. All you could want.

My skills can we set however you want but should stay similar to this one depending on the team. If there are 2 or 3 spell casters it is good to get Nether blade.
My Item build is very versitile. Wits end is better for a more spell caster opponent, Sword of the Devine gives great speed, and 100 extra damage for every forth hit. Sword of the Occult (If you have been getting kills) will help in the long run with the extra damage boost. The shoes don't fully matter, as you could go for the spell penetration or attack speed, which I find would be better due to most of the items that are set. Frozen mallet is more of a survival item, giving health while slowing enemies, why wouldn't you love that? The Rageblade is very important as it gives both a boost to attack speed but Ability power as well!

For Summoner Spells, I go with Cleanse and Ghost, Either for quick getaways or for a good way to catch up and finish a target off. Although some may disagree on my spells due to Kassadin's ultimate being a great Escape move, it is also a very costy one. 100 mana can be A LOT to pay at some times, mostly because of your moves costing just as much, it drains mana and you wont always have the mana to get away. And even as good as it is with full mana, you can still be slowed/silenced/snared/stunned. Cleanse gives you that safe feeling of a clean getaway.

I go with a 9/0/21 mastery for the Cool Down reduction, the extra speed, the Summoner spell reduction, All the bonus mana and health regeneration, and the extra gold (Always helpful). I put three points into Crit and 3 into attack speed instead of three in Ability power and three in CD reduction due to the fact that my build is slightly more focused to dealing Melee damage/Attack speed. A 21/0/9 build wouldn't work as well because of mana problems, Not being able to catch up and having to recall due to low regeneration.

My runes I wasn't 100% sure about, I went with attack speed, Crit chance/Crit damage and Flat damage Quintessences. (If you have a better rune suggestion please comment)
