Threats to Draven with this build
|Jinx||Jinx is fairly weak early on and as long as you apply your dominance without getting caught by her traps you should easily win lane.|
So there's a common thing I see going on in the silver ranks, and I would like to address this issue then explain why this guide will help you climb into gold.
First off! Laning. I see a lot of people trying to do things they should not in lane. For instance, if you think that you should fight an enemy, don't! This is something you should know before you do it. I don't want to see you guys charging in on your enemy
before the minions come into lane and give her first blood because you underestimated her. This is something you need to know and I want it to be clear to you. Never underestimate your enemy.
Stand back and evaluate their play style, then and only then decide how you're going to fight her. I suggest if you want to be better at this game to start thinking about what you can do to improve your tactics. People who are the best at this game aren't that way just because. It took many hours of thoughtful practice and critical decision making.
Another thing I notice a lot is people try to hard to be the one getting kills and being the guy that is OP and carrying the whole team. No no no no. Focus on what you need to do to benefit your team. To clarify, have you ever tried fighting the entire enemy team by yourself? I'm sure it went terrible, your team is your weapon get them strong and you will win.
Pros / Cons
Always choose this if you don't know what to get. It is everything you
need to have an effective start
After you kill 100 minions this item grants you 300 gold. If you know you're going to be stuck farming because is on the enemy team and will keep you at a distance, forcing you to stay back, this is a good item to buy first.
Oh boy this item is your key to victory because the final mastery in the
Ferocity Tree Warlord's Bloodlust will grant you extra healing and attack speed as you crit._________________________________________________________________________________________
Because of the mastery setup this is the most perfect item for this build. The crit from Infinity Edge will be doing a lot of extra healing as Warlord's Bloodlust grants you healing for crits and The Bloodthirster applies 20% more healing. Don't forget this item!
This item is crazy, It applies grievous wound to limit their healing and applies 40% armor penetration for massive destruction.
Remember static shiv? If you liked it this is your new best friend. You can build Kircheis Shard first and get the effect that shocks enemies near where you attack without building the item completely. Great for if you need some cheap extra damage.
If you keep getting trapped by the mage specifically, choose this item as it gives you magic resist and the ability to remove all debuffs at your command. The extra damage will help a lot also.
If the mage is really strong but they also have an annoying you can choose this item and it will automatically defend from spells like Rocket Grab and keep you safe. Just remember it will only block one spell every 40 seconds.
Don't you like coming back from the dead? Well it has its downsides. Most people when they get this item will be too cocky and die twice right away. Try to use this item as an advantage in team fights to revive yourself during a team fight.
Get used to keeping two axes at all times. You can watch the indicator for when it's going to expire and either activate the ability again or catch an axe by attacking a minion to reset the timer. I suggest learning how to "a-click" but I'll go more into detail about that later.
This is what you'll be using if you need to either run faster or if you need extra attack speed.
If you need to get away from an enemy this is your only form of crowd control. Try to use it to push an enemy away or if you need to catch them it will also apply a debuff to the enemy slowing their movement speed by 20/25/30/35 or 40% depending on the level of the ability.
Don't try to be the guy that wastes this strong ability trying to catch someone across the map. Use this during a team fight when you will be able to hit mostly all the enemies. It's about making your team win, not getting all of the kills.
League of Draven
The passive Draven holds is something to be aware of, if you continuously catch all of your axes it will apply one stack, and each stack will give you one gold. Utilizing this you will find yourself with a lot of free gold. Just remember you need to kill an enemy to obtain the stacks.
Now to get serious. If you want to be good at Draven A-clicking is something you need to learn. Watch this video and practice in bot matches. The idea is to control where the axe will land, not to find out where it's going to land.
So you know how to play Draven now. How do we apply this to team fights? First off I want to address a few things.
Positioning: To effectively position yourself make sure to be with your support and stand behind everyone else on your team.
When to attack: For example, Wait for your to charge in with Unstoppable Force then throw out your Whirling Death and charge in with Blood Rush. But remember that you need to keep two Spinning Axe while executing the above strategy. It's hard and a lot to think about, but with practice you will be able to do it with relative ease as it becomes muscle memory.
Communicating: Always be asking your team what they want to do and when you guys should group up, five brains is better than one. Most people won't get salty if you ask them what you should do instead of telling them what to do.
Objectives: After you win a team fight the idea is to either take a tower or get dragon. Just don't stay too long and pull the classic "went too deep and got my whole team killed" strategy.
What you should have learned from this guide.
- When to level up your abilities and how to use them.
- What items to buy under certain scenarios.
- How to aclick
- What to do in a team fight.
I hope you had as much fun reading this guide as I did writing it. I know you will all do amazing things with your new learned skills. Use what you have learned to play more efficiently and to think better about your gameplay and surely you will get to gold. Let me know if there's anything that was unclear so I can clarify that for you.
Thank you for your time and good luck on the rift!
