Decent guide for something you don't commonly see. A couple of weird choices in the item/mastery build and could use a little more depth, especially for the jungle section.
  • First thing I notice is you start with a Doran's Blade. For something like solo top Sion, I feel there's only 2 viable starting options. Cloth Armor or Boots. Cloth Armor gives you some much needed extra armor to lane against those melee and Boots are a good option when you're expecting early jungle threat or when laning against an AP champion. More importantly, both items allow you to also buy Health Potions for some very much needed early sustain.
  • Executioner's Calling is a pretty bad item in pretty much any scenario. It really isn't worth the gold you're spending on it and you're probably better off buying... well... anything else.
  • Tiamat is also a pretty bad item. While your explanation for getting it makes stuff, it still does not make it a viable choice. It's expensive, doesn't really give you a lot of useful stats and the range is so low it's just too unreliable.
  • Warmog's Armor is unnessacery as a defensive item, especially when you max Enrage first. Instead, look at items like Guardian Angel.
  • Your item build needs to be expanded a bit, splitting up defensive and offensive items and perhaps adding a couple more good choices. I would also recommend adding in a section for boots and starting items ( Mercury's Treads and Ninja Tabi as alternative boots and the starting items I mentioned earlier).
  • As for masteries, you could put the filler point from Mental Force into Butcher for easier last hitting. You don't really get anything from 1 AP.
  • 24 points in offense seems a bit overkill, especially consiering some useful masteries you're missing out on in the defense or even utility tree. Consider taking the points out of Havoc (which is a pretty bad mastery either way) and put them into something like the health regen for lane sustain or movement speed in utility.
  • Your jungling section could use a little more depth. For example a counter jungling section, what to do when being counter jungled, offensive and defensive warding, when to gank, how to gank, possible ganking routes, etc. Perhaps even a video showing the jungling route a bit more clearly as the picture is a bit chaotic.
  • Lastly, consider adding a section about teamfights and general gameplay after the laning phase.

This has to be one of the best Sion builds I've used yet. You explain everything in great detail. I was surprised how well the Tiamat works with Sion, I am not sure what nighthawk was saying. Great build, keep up the good work.

This build is wonderful and has helped me in literally every possible extract that you could ever cucumber! Also nighthawk - please take the hairy ****S (yes plural you dirty *****, you) out of your MOUTH EARS (yes plural. please pay attention to those 's') BUTT NOSTRILS AND GIANT VOID WHOLE WHERE YOUR ***** IS SUPPOSED TO BE. every thing you say about this build is false and makes my onions churn in their pajamas. the tiamat is an amazing item and before you trash talk this build why dont you actually try it. taking a atep back, i see that you've never actually played LoL so don't even try to criticize. Thank you and have a nice **** party with you boiz.

How many times do you fight in the middle of the lane with a bunch of minions close to you lol...

Your argument of 'don't try it till you knock it' doesn't really work either, some things people can just instinctively tell are bad, like full ap garen.

Are you understanding that Tiamat has a range of 187.5 with just one of them?

Do you realize that means the splash range of Tiamat is going to be slightly longer then your auto attack?

And you know what that means?

Unless two champions are basically standing inside of each other, you will only be ever lifestealing off of one champion with just 1 Tiamat.

And what you are not realizing is that Sion doesn't only depend on enemy champions in a fight. The life steal gained from minions also helps in a fight. Once again, Do not knock it till you try it.

Well first of all, no one should be getting Tiamat on Sion. Don't even suggest it. First of all, your ult doesn't splash in the first place, and Tiamat doesn't give lifesteal. What that means is you have to hit more targets in order to gain lifesteal, which in turn means they have to be in Tiamat's proc range. Now 1 Tiamat grants you 50% splash range. That means your Tiamat range is going to be (125 / 2) + 125 = 187.5.

Got interrupted in the middle of this, will finish later.

Im going to have to stop you there. I know the Tiamat isn't a life steal item and I never insinuated such. I also never insinuated that the ultimate splashes. The Tiamat does however work with the ultimate of Sion. Sion's ultimate heals based on damage dealt. This INCLUDES the damage dealt by the Tiamat to surrounding units. Remember Sion's ultimate is technically a "Buff". There for it still registers as a basic attack. The Tiamat applies splash damage to basic attacks. Are you understanding now? Are you even trying the build or are you knocking it before you even know its worth?
