Not Updated For Current Season
The masteries shown here are not yet updated for the current season, the guide author needs to set up the new masteries. As such, they will be different than the masteries you see in-game.
Lulu is a great support. With all of her slows and great pokes she can make a carry's job very easy. She doesn't have much health, but she has her abilities. Her shield is great for lane fighting and team fighting. Even when you are losing the fight you can use your shield and/or ult to turn it around. Overall Lulu is a fun and great champion to play.
When playing Lulu or any support you have to think about what is best for the team. Lulu can have many different builds, being offensive or support, and she is great at all. When playing her you must use your item passives. Going more offensive as a support means you can use your Shard of True Ice passive and slow enemies down, this item is great because even with all of Lulu's slows this makes the fight even easier. Using your items like Locket of the Iron Solari also are a key to winning team fights. Granting your allies shield and health is important playing as Lulu. Also, When playing as Lulu you have to keep your map awareness high at all times. In laning phase you should ward the river and the brushes, sometimes even ward the enemies red/blue buff.
Lulu has a lot of items to choose from, like many other champions, but late game you will want all the items slots possible so you will sooner or later want to upgrade your Philosopher Stone. Here you have to think about the team. If you are dying in team fights and losing them or forcing them under enemy towers, a sure choice would be Ohmwrecker, but if you want to support your entire team upgrade into Shurelya's Reverie. Also think that if you need more sustain get more defensive items such as Banshee's Veil. Another good item is Shard of True Ice, this item will also help the entire team in team fights by slowing down the enemy and also giving your allies a mana boost, not to forget that it provides you with an extra 4 gold every 10 seconds. Zhoyna's is a great item because not onyl does it help you in sticky situations and for extra damage you get more health from your heals and a biggger shield.
Playing Lulu will always give you a possibility to try a new build. Trying all of them and sticking to one that has your personal preference is fine too. Just remember that as a support you want to be using your abilities on your team, such as your main damage out-putters. You also have to constantly use your items passives, those are some of the reasons why you would get the item in the first place so to not use it would be silly.
I hope you enjoyed this guide and will give Lulu and this guide a try.
This is my first guide so any feedback about things I should add or do better with would be much appreciated.
