Maintaining Battlefield Presence
Maximize Cooldown Reduction(CDR)
The core premise for this build is maximizing CDR. This allows you to maintain a presence after your first stun/ult/shatter combo. With prolonged teamfights, you can get in multiple heals, stuns, and shatters, making you a continued threat. You need this presence, otherwise the other team will ignore you after you blow your first round of spells. With CDR, your force the opposing team to focus some of their attention on you even after the opening shots, allowing your carries a little more room for damage.
Priority Two and Three: Armor and Mana
The second and third priority is armor and mana. These two help with Taric's abilities and passive. While the passive in support form is minimal, this low cooldown build means Taric spams abilities and ultimately uses a lot of mana.
Warding is an essential role of every support. I like to break it down into five zones of warding. These zones are lane, dragon, baron, friendly jungle and enemy jungle. These zones can be utilized for effective defensive, offensive and objective purposes. The bottom line is that warding is all about intelligence and counter-intelligence. Map awareness is the key both defensive and offensive warding.
Early game, its about keeping carry safe while farming. Also, if you buy pinks, you can clear out those pesky enemy wards which prevent your carry from getting fed by friendly jungle ganks. Late game, try to keep friendly choke points warded to prevent your teammates from getting ganked. My two favorite places to ward are the bushes behind dragon and baron. These can help with both dragon and baron objectives as well as give a good view of wraith camp activity.
Warding deep in enemy jungle at buffs or in your own jungle if you've got a sneaky enemy counter-jungler can result in opportunities that get your carries and jungle fed.
I find that placing a ward into a bush before you get there is a good alternative to purely face-checking. While this does not always prevent an enemy team surprise party, with you as the honored guest, it can help if there are only two or three enemies and give you some time to react/flash-away.
