Master Yi Build
Not Updated For Current Season
The masteries shown here are not yet updated for the current season, the guide author needs to set up the new masteries. As such, they will be different than the masteries you see in-game.
THIS IS A TWISTED TREELINE BUILD! DO NOT USE FOR SUMMONERS RIFT, OR THOSE 1 VS 1S ALL THE KIDS ARE INTO!!!!!
Here we go.....
The following description is rated PG-13, parental guidance is recommended for readers under the age of 13.
Let me start of my build like Demetri Martin starts his comedy show.
I'm going to list the goods, and the bads, and the interestings of this build.
*Good life-steal late-game.
*Cuts through tanks like butter.
*Makes those annoying characters not as bad.
*Faster than any living black man.
*Gets focused quickly in those pesky team fights.
*Takes an advanced player behind the wheel.
*Master Yi's dance looks like tea-bagging.
The items of this build greatly depend on the other team.
If you are playing against a heavy tank, for example Cho'Gath Alistar Rammus you will want to use the following item sequence.
Upgrade Vampiric Scepter to a Malady
The Black Cleaver
If there are no tanks on the other team, you'll want to change your build up to the following.
B. F. Sword
Then upgrade B. F. Sword to Infinity Edge
Then you will want a Last Whisper
Continue by upgrading Vampiric Scepter to a Malady
Finish up with 2 more Infinity Edge but I doubt the game will last this long.
If you are playing against Jax you will need to buy a Sword of the Divine or he will step on you.
Runes are a huge part of what separates a noob from a good player.
The runes I use for this build are
Greater Mark of Attack Speed x9
Greater Seal of Evasion x9
Greater Glyph of Attack Speed x9
and the most important
Greater Quintessence of Health x3
I think every player that hits level 20 should immediately save for health quints. They are VERY helpful for the early game when some champions only have 4 bars of health.
For summoner spells!
The two summoner spells I normally use are Exhaust and Ghost however if you are playing ranked and can see the other team is stun heavy, don't hesitate to get Cleanse.
That one was quick....on to how to play.
This will take a bit....
Starting off the game on Twisted Treeline, before you even buy, call top. Master Yi not taking top will take a good 6 kills off your end score. After that, buy and gank bottom bush with your team, if they want too.
GANKING BOTTOM BUSH!!!
Well I'm not too sure by any standard it is a gank anymore. It is more like a battle at bottom bush. Try to get to the bush ASAP, but don't run in alone. If your team isn't there, you shouldn't be there. When you get a team that is slow to buy, you should wait at the tower for them to catch up. Then when you enter the bush, do it as a team. No-one should be in front. You should be a cluster. Make good use of your summoner spells to get FB, escape, and save a teammate if necessary. After all this is finished, head up to top tower....Take the long way.
MINIONS HAVE SPAWNED
Minions are flowing into your lane and you can't wait to see who their top is. Follow the minions to mid, and surprise the enemy by immediately engaging. You will want to attack them whenever minions are in mid, if minions have pushed toward their base don't bother, they will just flee to their tower. Master Yi can win a 1 vs 1 against anyone at level 1, assuming he has the runes. Summoner spells are very important here. For example...
Amumu bandage tosses you and continues an assault of tantrums and melee attacks untill you run back to your tower.
Amumu bandage tosses you, you exhaust him activate ghost, and chase him with your sword cutting 'till he is dead.
After activating Wuju Style, your sword will soon become a dinky piece of Styrofoam that cant cut through grass. Why? Because Yi gets what I call WUJU FLU. Never engage your opponent if you are undergoing effects of WUJU FLU!
APPROACHING MID GAME
Now is when the team fights are going to start happening. In team fights you are going to want to stay back, let a TM engage. After they are now the enemy's target, your foes become oblivious to the Crack Filled Ferret, chasing after this with
Highlander activated and his Wuju Style going.
LEAVING MID GAME
Now is when you can do work. If Master Yi touches a tower at this point it will topple. Your goal is to drop the enemy towers and push lanes. You are the powerhouse of your team......wait, maybe not, but you just need practice........you are the powerhouse of your team.
By now you should know whether you have won or lost, there is no real strategy to end game. Just try to win those team fights.
Thats all I can do to help you win with Yi!
