Introduction

Cho'gath is my one true love! First champion I purchased and have been in love ever since. The new jungle is an interesting place, and this is what I have been doing in it so far! I understand my build is different than most, but I hope that you can see the value in it.

Pros / Cons

Pros!

-Vorpal Spikes do silly Damage
-You can EAT dragons and champions
-Ult that stacks to make you tanky
-CC + Silence + Tank + Damage
-A lot of fun to play
-Decent Clear times

Cons!

-Need successful early ganks
-Need at least a couple items before damage kicks in
-Need to land Q for most ganks to be successful
-Nocturne can block your R so watch for that
-Can be shut down by early deaths

Skill Sequence

The key to success with this build is Cho'gath's Vorpal Spikes! I always max E because this helps your clear time greatly, then when you gank a lane with multiple champs you can attack one and damage the one behind with the Vorpal spikes. They are fun! Next I max Q as this is the key to success for ganks, and has the best AP scaling of your abilities. Your W is key to winning duels and Team fights as you silence the enemy champs. This can save your life, and make team fights change as you can cause the AP Carry on the other team not to be able to cast anything during a fight for a short time. Make sure to use your R (Nom nom nom) in the jungle as they recently buffed this, since the cooldown is halved when you nom on jungle creeps and minions. Try to always have 6 stacks as much as possible.

Items

Always start with Hunter's Machete, 2 health Pots, and trinket. Then try to get enough gold to get your devourer as fast as possible so then you can start stacking that item. After that I would usually go for a Blade of the Ruin King. At this point, if you are unstoppable keep building damage, and if you are not unstoppable build tank items and become unstoppable! If you need to be tanky see where their damage is coming from. If it is mostly AD build Randuin's Omen, and if it is AP build a Spirt Visage or Banshee's Veil. If you are doing well and they have a lot of AP always get the Wit's end as it stacks more damage on your basic attacks. Look at above items for all the ones that I typically would use with this build.

Creeping / Jungling

My jungle route will start with Gromp. When you smite the Frog you get the poison bonus which really helps with the rest of the jungle camps. Then I go blue, Wolves, and red. At this point I would back or gank. If there is an easy gank then go for it, but if not just back. Typically I would get a dagger and some health pots. Then at this point look for ganks, and if no lanes are pushed then keep jungling. Dragon is Crucial in the new jungle and Cho has an advantage because even if your smite is down you can nom the dragon for 1,000 damage with your R. Make sure to get dragons as much as possible

Summary

This build is here to provide an alternative to the typical tanky Cho'gath builds. I have used those builds as well, but in the new jungle I really enjoy attack speed Cho! Most people are not expecting it, and you can knock them up, silence, and then just auto-attack them to death before they can hit you at times. For a last resort you can just bite their head off and nom nom nom! This is all that I have, and I love feedback so feel free to comment! Thanks so much for reading and have fun Nomming in the Jungle!
