Hi everyone, my name is MettleEngine and I am pleased to bring you my somewhat gimmicky build for Yasuo. I have played Yasuo almost exclusively since his release and have tried many different item, rune, and mastery combinations - this is a completely viable build that you can try, if not just for fun! I know there are other builds out there that emphasize full damage, more tanky, or more bruiser like, but I just wanted to add my own vision for a playable Yasuo that will get you kills AND let you live to brag about it - all in a eye pleasing ORANGE color!
Since this is a Vitamin C build you can substitute some Lime Green or Lemon Yellow items to fight your enemies!
This is a work in progress - please leave your comments - I welcome constructive criticism! I will try to learn some coding to make this guide more eye pleasing but you get the idea behind this build.
My rune combinations give Yasuo Armpen, Armor, MagResist, 9.2% crit chance, and 9% extra crit damage to make up for his crit passive.
3 greater quintessence of armor penetration
This build is lacking armor penetration so getting it with runes is a must.
9 Greater Seal of Scaling Armor
May not be the choice of seals for most but for me they are working well enough.
9 Greater Glyph of Scaling Magic Resist
Standard glyphs on most AD champs.
5 Greater Mark of Critical Chance
Having these marks brings Yasuo up to just about 100% critical chance.
4 Greater Mark of Critical Damage
Because of Yasuo passive Way of the Wanderer we use these marks to up his crit damage to about normal levels.
Runes are mostly a personal preference - sometimes I run Greater Quintessence of Life Steal quints or Greater Mark of Attack Damage reds, other times I may run Greater Mark of Attack Speed reds and Greater Quintessence of Movement Speed quints. I am currently running Greater Seal of Scaling Armor seals due to the fact I believe in playing Yasuo a bit conservatively in the early game to make them worth it in the long run.
Having played many games with all different mastery combinations such as 9/21/0, 21/0/9 (I like the broken pots), and even 4/26/0. None have been as much fun as this 25/5/0. It really turns Yasuo into a glass cannon early game but the damage he deals is just incredible.
Standard AD masteries from Fury straight down through Havoc are typical for an AD champ like Yasuo.
Where this build differs is my choice of masteries such as Butcher and Feast for early sustainability.
Executioner for securing low health kills.
Double-Edged Sword is more damage, and more damage is good.
Expose Weakness helps your team secure kills in team fights.
Spell Weaving and Blade Weaving just synergize so well with Yasuo kit. Knock the enemy up with an Last Breath, hit with a Sweeping Blade, or Steel Tempest then get extra damage with an auto attack and vice versa. We know that more damage is always good.
Finally, Frenzy is a must for a champ that specializes in critical hits.
Since this is my Orange build, there needs to be explanations for some of my choices.
Statikk Shiv is just a must-have. I have seen other builds downplay the importance of a Statikk Shiv. It gives everything that Yasuo needs - crit, attack speed, movement speed - for 2500 gold! It helps with farming, jungling, and most importantly getting kills! One of the reasons I love Statikk Shiv is it makes defending turrets easier. It can completely obliterate minion waves leaving enemy champions to take turret hits. I just love it. 99.3% crit chance with this build make it a necessity!
Infinity Edge is a stone cold LOCK for a place in this build. Giving crit chance and extra crit damage plus the added 70 attack damage is mind blowing. Buy it.
Ravenous Hydra adds life steal, damage, and sustain make it a great item. The extra activated ability it possesses is just icing on the cake - which I will talk about later. This item can be rushed giving your early game aboost with AD and sustain.
Locket of the Iron Solari might seem like a support item but it fits in well with Yasuo kit. Armor, magic resist, sustain, cooldown reduction, team regen, and a great activated ability - which we will discuss later - make it a decent ORANGE item.
Sunfire Cape gives Yasuo more health, provides armor, and deal magic damage. A great item for this ORANGE build.
Berserker's Greaves add attack speed and movement speed. Its hard to argue their place in this build. Situational boots may be substituted but you lose that ORANGE hue!
ULTING AND SURVIVING
I specifically chose the Locket of the Iron Solari and Ravenous Hydra for Yasuo's ultimate. When in a teamfight and Yasuo gets his ultimate off - while he is in the air activate your Ravenous Hydra for extra damage and Locket of the Iron Solari for survivability! Sunfire Cape also leaves your enemies with an ORANGY GLOW!
