Teamed with certain characters this build can be quite a handful for some enemies here is a good team up and in my opinion the best team ups:

Gangplank + Ms. Fortune combine their ults [R] to stop an enemy dead in its tracks

Gangplank + Veigar Have veigar stun enemies while Gangplank uses his ult and finishes them

Gangplank + Garen once garen's target is fleeing have gangplank use his ult to slow the target and damage right before garen uses his ult.

Pros:
High Crit
High Attack Speed
Decent armor
Area of affect
Remove Scurvy Is Broken

Cons:
Takes lots of money
low survivability early game
terrible without blue + red buffs

When starting out always get Parrrley first. If you kill a minion with it you get bonus gold plus it deals critical hits so added with the extra crits given by the weapons.

Unless you can perfect using this build I would not recommend for Ranked play. Unless you are great at using Gangplank. As Gangplank is good for Kill Stealing I also wouldnt recommend him for ranked play, as people would report you for it.
