Introduction

Hello everyone! This is my first ever build. This is going to be short at first and I am going to be expanding it as I play the character. I was so excited when Riven first came out and was glad to hear that she is actually really good. I give credit to My good friend Rokanza who helped me test out this build. Also to Phreak who gave me a bunch of ideas and helped me start, especially the Wriggle's Lantern idea. And to Alphairri who helped me write this :D

Pros:
-Speed, she is a pretty fast character from the start. Her skills also help her speed
-You can nuke pretty hard once you learn how to play her correctly
-She looks like a badass
-Area of effect stuns
-Abilities scale really well with her attack damage
-No mana or energy
-She can Chase really well, And has amazing escape
Cons:
-Takes a while to really understand the character
-Dependent on cool downs
-Somewhat squishy

Runes

Greater Mark of Desolation - Well shes AD so Desolation is really important. All of her move sets are physical and this should help burn through the enemy's armor. It will help score that much needed first blood. Greater Mark of Desolation is really good on almost all AD champions.

Greater Seal of Armor - Lets face it, your are a melee champion. You will be in the thick of a team fight and will more than likely be focused at one point or another. This will help during team fight but also during early game to help you stay in lane longer and help get that early first blood.

Greater Glyph of Scaling Magic Resist - These glyphs are a must for 2 reasons. 1, To help with any heavy AP nukes they may have on their team. 2, Late game you will probably be a threat to the enemy team. when you are auto hitting for 900, some of them may get Thornmail to counter you. Thornmail Deals magic damage so these should help ease that damage a bit.

Greater Quintessence of Desolation - Just like the marks, These will help deal more damage with all of her attacks. These are optional, I just like these are a little better for the extra burst. some other possibility's could be Greater Quintessence of Cooldown Reduction, Greater Quintessence of Vitality, Greater Quintessence of Critical Chance. Its all preference.

Summoner Spells

Need i say anymore? It's one of if not the best spells in the game. I suggest getting this on just about any character. Some characters may not need it for various reasons but Riven needs it. Since you are a melee champ there will be circumstances where you will need to use this spell. Getting bursted down in team fights because your 10-0 and the other team is QQ'ing about how OP you are so they decide to focus you is just 1 example. It can help with ganks, team fights, chasing, running away, just about anything.

One of my favorite spells on most melee champions. It's really good for getting first blood, and focusing their carry. It can also be used defensively. Enemy Cho'Gath turret diving you because your at 100 hp and are Feastable? no problem, Exhaust him and dance around your turret while he rages about how fast you are. :D

Other Options

Pretty decent spell, although i wouldn't take Ghost and Flash at the same time. Its a good alternative, but its not as effective. Good for chasing and running away though.

Another really good spell alternative. However i don't find it that useful. Mainly because Blade of the Exile and Wind Slash will finish off those pesky enemy's that just got away with like no health.

DO NOT TAKE

If you choose any one of these, your are bad, and you should feel bad. reasons should be obvious.
