Thanks for the feedback everyone.

@Needlous: I don't like Flash because it's a good spell to usually run away. This build for Riven is to let her stay in the fight. Exhaust and Ignite are better spells for a fight because you can Exhaust someone running away or someone chasing your carry, while Ignite will prevent champs like Sion and Swain from restoring humongous amounts of HP with their ults during team fights, letting you kill them before one of them alone can ace your team (I've seen that, it's pretty sad and frustrating). Also, you release the stress of a tank or carry to buy Executioner's Calling or Randuin's Omen, freeing up a space in their inventory for another item. With the first 5 items, Riven is more than ready to kick some arses. The last item can be anything, from Frozen Mallet to Warmog's Armor, but I'm suggesting Infinity Edge for extra damage (higher shield amount from Valor) and the additional critical chance since you already own Youmuu's Ghostblade. The items and spells you're suggesting are for beefy/tanky Rivens who will be forced to flash away because they can't deal enough damage to kill non-squishy champions, and it has low life steal percentage. Remember that Riven is a fighter, and as such, she should be able to deal as much damage as possible without being 2-shot in a team fight. The trick is that Valor adds a lot of shield with 300+ AD, so the enemy will think you have "little HP" when Valor will eat up 600-700 additional damage every 5 seconds. So think of it as "restoring" or "regaining" 600-700 hp periodically. Mercury Threads are for tanks, or for countering heavy CC teams. I'll add those boots as a situational item. The classic "Atmog's" build doesn't suit her because she fights with skills more than auto-attacks, and 30% CDR will let her use skills non-stop.

@MysticalZelda: I don't start with Doran's Blade because everyone can harass better than Riven, so getting health back from it will be hard in a lane. The "triple blade" build works great for ranged AD champions... or Garen, who can restore hp by doing literally nothing, so he doesn't need an item like the Shield. He can run in boldly, spin to win, try to kill, but if he fails, he runs back to the turret and restores his health with Perseverance. Also, spending another 900g on items you will sell later seems more like a loss of gold to me, although the items could be helpful for the extra health, you'll end up getting rid of them, so why not sell only one Doran instead of three? The typical situation for Riven is to solo top, so having a ward in the brush is a must, Wriggle's Lantern can do that job and saves you a good share of gold from wards. The reason I get the CDR boots AND Youmuu's is because the skills fit better into an endless rotation if the CDR is at least 30%. Also a higher CDR will mean more Valor, which will end up in a higher HP ratio during a fight. Frozen Mallet can give you 700 hp, but each Valor, with more AD, will block 600 damage... as much health as the Frozen Mallet can give, and you can use Valor many times, so you have an additional 600 hp over and over again, not just once. I'll take your suggestion to add colors and coding. I tried to make the guide simple but it didn't come out that way, hehe.

@ageofterra: Yes, I need to work on my coding and writing. I can't help myself when it comes to explain something (as you can read on the paragraphs above), but I'll try to make the guide more attractive as soon as I get the time.

@Fulundry: I can mention a good bunch of AP champs that can solo top and don't have to worry about their resources and are great harassers: Akali, Vladimir, Kennen, Cho'gath, Shen, Katarina, etc. Some of these champions could be junglers instead, but you should be ready for anything. That's why I've added the magic resist glyphs to the build. I save The Brutalizer for later because you first need the damage and life steal from Bloodthirster to strengthen your Valor, increase your damage output and regain hp during a fight. Also your initial 31 Armor Penetration (25 from runes, 6 from Sunder ) should be enough to keep an average champion's armor at 10 (at least) or 20 (at most) until it starts increasing to a point where Brutalizer is needed. I suggested Infinity Edge after G.A. because Riven is ready to rock with the first 4 items, making G.A. the last one oriented to survivability. It also lets you be a bit more reckless without regretting it. The sixth item is just an extra kick for her, even if you get a situational item instead of I.E. It's explained in the guide. Few champions can carry with just 3 or 4 items, and Riven is one of them. G.A. is just a trump card because the enemy team will want you dead at any cost by that time in the game since you've been killing everything that gets in your way.

As soon as I get the time, I'll update this guide with more coding and adding situational items. Keep the feedbacks coming, I appreciate all of them. It is also a good way to debate which item is the best for her, so I can keep improving this guide.

I agree with ageofterra. What coding you have is decent, but it's all the same. If you could vary it some, add bigger icons here and there, and break up those long (although quite in-depth) paragraphs, that would be a big improvement.

Otherwise, here are some things I noticed:

-You have flat magic resist glyphs, but you will most likely be in the top lane. Other than Rumble or Mordekaiser, most of you opponents will be AD based. At least, that's the current metagame. As such, scaling mr glyphs would be better; you are unlikely to see a whole lot of magic damage until laning is over, or at least until levels 6-10 or so. At that point, scaling magic resist is higher.

-You get The Brutalizer pretty late, but it's an amazing early game item on a champ that doesn't use mana. Armor pen/cooldown/damage is all just excellent; I'd get a good amount sooner.

-You also get Infinity Edge after G.A. I'm not going to say this should never be done, but it is a bit odd. G.A. is a pretty standard last purchase, you should at least explain why you are doing it that way.

I'll favorite this guide and check back on it periodically. If you can expand it some, I'll be happy to +1 you.

Hey, nice start, you have the basic coding down, you should go into more advanced coding, if you want help check out jhoi Jhoi's guide to making a good guide, or I you want PM me that you want help, I'll be more than willing but I'm teaching a few other people currently so it might take a bit to get back to you.

Also your writing is in really big chunks that is tiring to read, seperate your chuncks with dividers or just make the paragraphs less painful to read :p, implement better coding and fix the burning in my eyes then you have my +1.

Hm I build Riven a little different. I still do take flash, get Frozen Mallet as well, don't get Wriggles Lantern, since 3x Doran's Blade is enough lifesteal. Then I fill up with Bloodthirster. Guardian Angel. and then any situational Item. I also get the defence boots, no cooldown. If I need cooldowns I get ghostblade.

Also, maybe add some more BB-codes for more colour ad such. Hope it helps :)

I don't quite agree with Infinity Edge, Ionian boots and not taking flash - you don't need ignite, another BT/MoM or even FM>Atma is better than IE, and Riven just needs mercs, even thought ionians help a bit.
