Malphite is becoming ever more popular with his new splash art and you thought "that's kewl I will give him a try." Malphite fills many different roles by going mid (Tank/Squishy Assassin/Support/Initiator) Malphite can be extremely deadly and unkillable if you know what you are doing and how to do it the proper way. Malphite can engage, slow their attack-speed, then pick off the adc while they are setting there pooping their pants wondering "What just happened" With his single target dmg he can help support the jungler (Yi, Fiora, Kha, any jungle carry) by starting their snowball effect.
GRANITE SHIELD: Make sure to always have up before you go in for trading.
SEISMIC SHARD: Before lvl 7 Seismic Shard is kinda a joke... I use it a few times before lvl 7 to give them a false scene of weakness so that they will come in closer.
BRUTAL STRIKES: I use it to farm with its passive and breaking turrets also not a bad idea to activate before using ult.
GROUND SLAM: Use this for farming big waves or after you use your ult so if they do try and counter attack their attack speed will be reduced.
UNSTOPPABLE FORCE: Great initiating skill I always try to hit the adc or apc when I use it along with someone else who happens to be there. If the enemy is really low hiding under the tower you can dive them and take them out while still taking little dmg because of your passive.
Flash and Ghost is really good on Malphite chose one that compliments your game style.
For his secondary spell you can get Teleport/Barrier/Heal/Ignite it's really what you feel is best.
Malphite absolutely needs UnHoly to take care of his mana problems through the mid/late game. After you get Unholy I always pick up Abyssal to basically give a middle finger to the other teams midlaner. By this point you should be able to dominate most midlaners and with your ult they can't even hide under tower.
Farming can be difficult early game but most of the time with jungle help you can make up the difference with assists or catch back up when they get bullied out. Malphites W and his E can help farm big waves or take out the Siege Minion.

1. Really Slow (Try not to roam to much)
2. Hard Early Game (Just play passive till lvl 6 or 7)
3. Dmg over time kinda poops on him early game
4. Lots of CC can make life hard
5. Can be Mana Hungry Early game if you play aggressive
Hard Lane Aginst
BE EXTRA CAREFUL
Fizz: All he will have to do is run in and jab you once doing dmg over time then trident out to dodge your Q. He can be difficult to lane against if he knows how Malhphite works.
Vlad: Vlad can keep healing himself and breaking your shield so he will win trades and get more cs.
Cho Gath: Cho'gath has a pretty bad early game just like Malphite. Early ganks can put you on top of lvls to help shut him down. If not he will just keep getting tankyer and keep hitting you with his skills.
Brand: Brand is another counter for the same reason as Fizz. Dmg over time will poop allover Malphite
Anyone with a shield or dmg over time: These type of champtions can out trade you most of the time but don't be frustrated you can outlast them with jungle help
Malphite can Dominate if you know what you are doing and have proper help from allies. His early game is lacking but he makes up for it with his mid/late game. Malphite is sorta mana hungry early game so try to play passively until you get Unholy and go into farm/poke with your passive up. In teamfight make sure to target the adc/apc to take them out and follow up with your E and if they start to run away use your Q. Try to hit more than one enemy with your ult when it's up.
