My Universal Runes

Would be the better option for me, it is not champion specific thus it will not give you any huge advantage with a favourable matchup, but it also does not put you at a that big of a disadvantage at an unfavourable matchup either. I pretty much use this at every lane I go to.

Have some AP.

X9 These runes are to replace buying attack speed items, makes last hitting and trade offs easier at early stages too.

Defensive runes, expected to take most damage from the marksman instead of the support. Getting more HP from Haunting Guise earlier on, thus the HP aspect is covered

More defensive runes, just in case the mages are somehow doing more damage than usual. Teemo does not have much range, which makes him get poked out very easily earlier on.

Masteries

My Universal Mastery
Ferocity Tree (18)
Sorcery - 5 points. More AP scaling
Feast - 1 point. Lane sustain
Natural Talent - 5 points. Just more AP
Oppressor - 1 point. Mushroom damage
Piercing Thoughts - 5 points. More damage
Deathfire Touch - 1 point. Keystone mastery, tons of damage.

Cunning Tree (12)
Wanderer - 5 points. Good for roaming, going to enemy jungle to plant mushrooms.
Secret Stash - 1 point. Regains a little mana during laning phase.
Merciless - 5 points. More damage, useful against tanks.
Dangerous Game - 1 point. Clutch mastery, this is what usually makes me survive tower dives and enables me to bait enemies, cannot stress the importance of having this for my playstyle.

Summoner Spells

My Universal Spells

Flash

Teemo is relatively squishy, thus Flash is needed for things like escaping, playmaking, baiting, kiting, etc etc. A must have summoner spell for squishies.

Barrier

Not a recommended summoner spell for many players, but it goes well with my playstyle. I usually will take Heal if I am going bottom and Ignite if I am going top. But Barrier would the suitable spell for every lane. Barrier is a very strong baiting spell, and with Flash, it could turn a teamfight around by gaining that additional chunk of shield when the enemy least expects it.

These set of abilities are more poke focused, good against casters that deals damage by burst. Do make sure to go on a more defensive state after your Q is used as most of your damage comes from there early / mid game. With Q on cooldown, your damage output will drop drastically, thus try to focus your damage to one enemy at the time.

Do take note that you should not just stick to one set of abilities, but instead add in levels according to how the game changes over time, do learn how to transit from burst to dps and vise-versa when needed, always be situational.

Bottom Lane

Bottom lane is the Marksman/Support lane. It is usually played with 2 champions, 2 roles. As Teemo, if you are going for the (AP) Marksman role, here are the things that you will have to look out for.

Matchups for Laning Phase:
Easy Matchups (Marksman) - Vayne, Draven, Kog'Maw, Jinx
Easy Matchups (Supports) - Thresh, Lux, Malphite, Brand
Items to go for with these matchups:
Doran's Ring X1
Health Potion X2
Warding Totem (Trinket)

- Easier to last hit
- Deals more poke damage, more damage output in fights
- Not able to soak much damage

Hard Laning Matchups (Marksman) - Varus, Quinn, Lucian, Caitlyn
Hard Laning Matchups (Supports) - Leona, Soraka, Nautilus, Blitzcrank

Items to go for with these matchups:
Doran's Shield X1
Health Potion X1
Warding Totem (Trinket)

- Harder to last hit
- Able to soak more damage, survive and sustain longer
- More passive health regeneration

- Farm up, CS is important
- Watch your positioning, stay near your support, do not overextend
- Control your lane, push when enemy jungler is far at top, either clear your lane as far as possible to reset or last hit when enemy jungler is nearby or missing.
- Help your support to ward
- Map awareness, follow up on ganks, but run away when you know you won't be able to make it.

During laning phase, champions that relies heavily on auto attack on damage will be more favourable towards you, with an exception of Caitlyn due to her long range. On as easier matchups, you are able to go for Doran's Ring to assist you in last hitting minions and additional mana regeneration for poking. When against a harder matchup, especially when the enemy has hard engage like Leona, going for Doran's Shield will allow you to soak more hits and survive longer in short teamfights, but the disadvantage would be that you will not be able to deal much damage.

Mid Game
- Stick with supports
- Farm up
- Shove lanes
- Avoid assassins
- Get objectives, clear nearby enemy jungle camps after pushing the lanes
- Kite while fighting, attack, run back, attack
- Shroom objectives and common pathways

Late Game
- Stick with team
- Mush possible teamfighting areas, including objectives. Eg. Dragon, Baron
- Stay back in teamfights
- Zhonyas
- Force teamfighting near shrooms
- Stay alive
