Abuse your mobility. Pre-6 she does not have any mobility. When you dash onto her wave, do not get charmed. If her charm is down, punish her or go for a all in. After 6, play safe and wind wall charm if she goes for a all in on you. stay near wind wall after wind walling charm, and stick onto her.
Xerath
Snowball him with e+q auto, e out. Wind wall his stun and dodge skillshots with your E.
Aurelion Sol
Stick with him really close with your E, or stay far. If he tries to stun you, wind wall, and go in on him, but don't get greedy and come out when you think he has his Q up again.
Lux
Bring exhaust against her since she will most likely bring barrier. Dodge skillshots, when you have your 3rd Q, e+q her, and one auto and e back out. If she tries to snare, wind wall or dodge with E.
Anivia
Go for a kill pre-6 but never get greedy and dive. Anivia has a very low base hp. At least get her egg down before 6. Her Q+E or ult+E will do a lot of dmg to you. Wind wall her E if you are affected by her ult or Q. Wind wall Q if possible. Stick onto her after she uses her Q.
Fiddlesticks
Middlesticks? Just push lane, don't trade with him. He has zero wave clear.
Vel'Koz
You can block everything except his ult. Keep on snowballing him by e+q auto e out. When he wastes his stun/airborn on you, use that time and punish him. He has no mobility, and you've got broken mobility.
Karthus
Waste his mana by constantly E'ing around him and on him. Go in and stick onto him, but if he uses his Defile, back off. His defile can hurt. Remember that your 3'rd Q can cancle his ultimate channel. Consider getting a Maw into late game.
Lulu
Start E, abuse her with auto+e+auto and e back. try going for kills before she hits six, but never dive her. Remember that her polymorph is a projectile, and you can wind wall it.
Ziggs
Dodge his skillshots, snowball him. It should be a easy lane. If he tries to ult you, remember that you can block it with your wind wall.
Morgana
Pre-6, if she uses snare, just go in and do as much damage as possible. Care for her black shield since it can ignore airborns.
Twisted Fate
One of the easiest matchups for yasuo. Wind wall his gold card if he tries to stun you, and go in on him. Snowball him in lane.
Karma
Don't get scared if she tries to root you, instead go in on her. Bring exhaust instead of ignite and use it when shes going all in or when you are going all in. Wind wall her mantra Q since that hurts a lot. Abuse your mobility, and snowball her. Try not to get rooted in her minion wave. When she W you and runs you with her shield, try to make her fight in your minion wave with your wind wall.
Orianna
Abuse your mobility, and snowball her with e+q and e out. stay near her minions so if she ults, you can easily dodge by dashing to minions. Block her ball if she tries to poke, and punish her when her Q is on cd
Syndra
Snowball her, but after 6, try not to get stunned. A good syndra player will always ult after stunning so yasuo cannot wind wall her ult. Abuse mobility and wind wall her ult if possible. Consider getting a maw if you are behind.
Ekko
ekko is a little bit harder to go against. When E's onto you and q, its hard to wind wall, so you have to guess when to wind wall. Also, he can outtrade and snowball you with his passive, so if he procs his passive, chase him with your E by dashing onto minions and even the trade out. Go for a kill pre-6. After 6, ask for a gank.
Taliyah
Her Q on a non-worked groud does massive damage, and you can only wind wall so much. Try to go in and do as much dmg as possible after wind walling her Q. However, later into laning phase where there is a lot of worked groud on your lane, you can easily kill her. Use your E to dodge her W, and don't stay on her unraveled earth for a long time as it erupts and does decent damage. Remember that you can wind wall her ultimate to deny her from running away/ engaging fights.
Corki
Corki is a but tricky to go against since his poke is just not fun to go against. Play safe, ask for ganks. However, if he uses his dash, use that chance and punish him. Wind wall his Q, and do not stay in his W. If he E's, back off with your E.
Cho'Gath
DO NOT try to snowball this guy. If you go in with your E, he can easily silence you, knock you up since you are silenced, and outtrade you. However, if you bait out his silence, that's your chance to trade with him. You can dodge his Q with your E. Don't level up wind wall at level 3 since you really can't wind wall much. Keep in mind that his ult does massive true damage, and back off if you are below 1/3 hp.
Brand
Brand is a immobile mage, however he has MASSIVE burst. One single mistake you make against him can lead him to killing you. Unless you are a skilled and experienced yasuo player who can easily dodge skillshots and maximaze your E, snowballing him isn't really a good idea. One stun by him, BOOM half your hp is gone. Even if you manage to wind wall his stun, that's not his main damage. His main damage is his E+W . Only trade with him if you have your passive shield and your 3'rd Q for granted outtrade. other than that, play safe, ward up and ask for ganks.
Gragas
As long as you dodge his body slam, you should be able to outtrade him. Remember to wind wall his ult and his Q. Remember that his dash is up every once in a while, but your dash is up every 0.1 seconds.
Zyra
Zyra is the more annoying version of heimerdinger. Her plants does a lot of damage if you stand near it. Her ult also puts her plants on steroids. She can easily outtrade you if you go in her minion wave to snowball with E and Q. I reccomend playing safe, and only going in when you have 3rd Q with passive shield. E+Q airborn, auto and back off.
Heimerdinger
When fighting a heimerdinger, ATTACK THE TURRETS. You can fight him once you hit level 4. Wind wall, kill his turrets, and go in on him. He is a very immobile mage who depends on his turrets. Constantly kill the turrets so that heimerdinger doesn't store charges of his turrets. Try to wind wall his stun and his W if necessary.
Ryze
After the ryze rework, ryze turned very strong. He can harass you and get his farm at the same time. Do not stay near your minions if ryze uses his E. Wind walling his E or Q would be useless since he has very low cooldowns. If he ever E+W's you, wind wall to prevent him from doing anymore damage to you while you are snared for a long time. play safe, don't try to trade with him and ask for ganks.
Kayle
Going against kayle as a melee mid laner is always painful because of her E. E onto minions to get near her , wind wall her Q, auto+e+q+auto and E back. Be careful of her ultimate once she hits 6. Remember that her ult can last up to 3 seconds at max rank. As long as you don't get slowed by her Q, you should be fine. Do not stick onto her, make quick trades.
Katarina
Katarina has lots of burst. However, if she Q+E+W's you, its pretty much granted for you to outtrade her since she has no abilities left. Stick onto her after she bursts you to even the trade. You can wind wall her ultimate as well. Your 3rd Q can cancle her ultimate. Bring exhaust to reduce her burst damage by a lot. Exhaust her when she goes for a all-in on you.
Talon
You have better early game than him. Start Q and harass him when he tries to cs. Wind wall his W and his ulti since that does a lot of damage to you. Talon can only blink onto enemy units, which means he does not have much mobility when running way. Stick onto him after he bursts you, and when he tries to burst you, use your exhaust and reduce the damage. Don't forget to buy a pink ward to prevent him from making plays with his ultimate.
Veigar
You have to get a lead early game. Ask for a gank, invade them, roam other lanes for kills, etc. If he goes late game tanky build, you can't do much. His E can really deny your mobility. Remember that his ult does execute damage. If you are low, try not to fight him or trade with him. Wind wall his Q or his ult if needed.
Viktor
Victor is a immobile mage. However, he still has high damage, a stun, and sustain damage with his ultimate. Go in whenever you have 3rd q and passive shield. Wind wall his Q and/or his E.
Galio
Gallio isn't hard to go against, its just that people don't know how to since gallio is not a popular pick. Wind wall his Q, snowball him and when he uses his shield, back off. Once he hits 6, don't go for risky plays since his ult can screw you over. Consider getting a maw or QSS.
Kassadin
Wind wall his Q when trading with him to prevent the silence. Remember that he can absorb your E dmg which is important early game. Keep in mind for kassadin's E which requires charging of spells. Once he hits 6, stick onto him if he uses his ult to start a fight.
Vladimir
When vlad has his 2 red bars filled up, do not go near him. He will do a lot of damage. Snowball him, and if he does not have his W, stick onto him and do as much dmg as possible. You can wind wall his E. Remember that he can heal a lot. Bring ignite, and ignite him when you are going for a all-in.
Cassiopeia
You must wind wall her W since it prevents you from dashing. Abuse your mobility as much as possible, and dodge her Q. After 6, cass's ult has a short channel. Look at the channel, and turn back to avoid getting stunned. If you get grounded once by her W, you will take a lot of damage. Consider getting a Maw or QSS.
Fizz
Fizz can easily stick onto you if you snowball him. Do not fight fizz when fizz uses his W. Pre-6 you should win lane. Pre-6 Deny his farm with your Q, when he goes untargetable, E onto the closest minion and dash away to avoid damage. However, after 6, you must wind wall his ultimate or dodge it. If you get hit by it, you may have to burn your summoner spell or even die. Rush a hexdrinker, get a phanthom dancer, and then finish building maw.
Zed
Bring exhaust. Pre-6 harass him when he comes to CS. Try to get a early lead against him. Once he uses his W+E+Q, go in on him since all of his damage spells are down, and he has no escape. However, after 6, it's extremely hard to kill zed since if you try to airborn zed, he will ult you, and since you just used your 3rd q, you are very weak. Exhaust him, and wind wall his Q after he ults to reduce his ult damage. Once all of his spells are on cd, engage on him.
Akali
Start doran's shield. You can reduce a lot of damage from her Q+auto. Poke her and harass her in lane pre-6. Try to get a early lead. Be very careful once she hits level 6, since she can all-in you anytime. Buy a vision ward to prevent her from dodging your skillshots and 3rd Q. Consider getting a Maw into late game.
LeBlanc
Wind wall her Q, and don't get snowballed. If you ever do get hit by her Q+W, it may do a lot of damage, but don't be scared and go in on her. Her dash is on cd. Be careful not to get hit by her E. If you do, dash out using the minions. After 6, she has insane burst, but her combos are limited if you use your wind wall correctly. She will most likely use W+R if you wind wall her Q. Remember to stick onto her after she uses her spells. Get a Maw after PD.
Diana
Its hard to snowball a Diana since her shield is pretty annoying. However, you can harass her pre-6. When she comes to cs, Q her or E+Q and dash out. Once she hits 6, try not to get hit by her Q since she can all-in you if you do get hit by her Q. Once she uses her shield while you are snowballing her, back off. Consider getting a Maw into late game.
Annie
The reason why Annie is so scary is because of her stun, and her massive level 6 burst damage. NEVER go in on her when she has 3 stacks of her passive or more. Pre-6 you can easily win. Once her stun is down, she is very weak. Use that time to trade and snowball her. Rush a Hexdrinker, and get a QSS later. Getting a hexdrinker will allow you to survive her level 6 burst with tibbers.
Swain
Wind wall his E. His E amplifies his damage, if you wind wall it and trade with him, you will do more damage than him. Pre-6 you can easily win lane. However, after 6, try to bait out his ult since it now has a 20 sec cd. If you go in, and he ults, dash out and wait for him to toggle his ult off. Once he does, engage on him again. Get a Maw for late game.
Azir
Azir can poke you down from a really far range. Either stick onto him, or stay really far. Your wind wall can block his soldiers from dashing. You can also block his ultimate with your wind wall. Consider getting a Maw. Don't get poked down by him.
Hello everyone who is looking at this guide. I am currently in Gold 5. I know my elo is pretty low, but I think I at least understand the basic mechanics of Yasuo and how to play him. I started playing leauge at the start of season 6. I played over 200 games with Yasuo so far, and my Yasuo has 350k mastery points. Anyways, thank you for taking a look at my guide, let's get started.
Yasuo is a champion that has easy mechanics to pick up, but hard to fully make use of it. Yasuo has lot's of potential on what he can do depending on the summoner's ability to make use of his kit. He is definitely the carry-type champion who can 1v5. Once you learn and master Yasuo, you will be carrying games easily if you have a decent matchup. Yasuo is a good pick against immobile mages/casters who has a lot of skillshots.
Masteries
Masteries
Bringing fervor of battle on Yasuo is extremely good since you have to stick onto your laner in order to do a lot of damage to them.
Items
Items
I really like getting phanthom dancer on Yasuo since PD allows you to outtrade your laner easily if you are not behind. It is also good for escapes and chasing people. It provides much more than statikk shiv.
What I usually build on Yasuo is PD, Boots, IE, Triforce, Lifesteal item, Defensive item
For Defensives, I like to get a GA, Maw or Sterak's Gage.
Skill Sequence
Skill Sequence
Max E, and then Q.
When the game just started, if you think you can Harass them while they are trying to CS at early levels, start Q. If you are against immobile mages who did not start with a CC, start E and dash 2 times onto minion, autoattack, dash, autoattack, and dash back.
Spells
Spells
For summoner spells, Always bring flash for obvious reasons, and you can choose to get exhaust or ignite. Bring exhaust if your laner has high burst (zed, talon, etc.) and bring ignite if you think you can go for a early kill against a immobile mage.
Ranked Play
Ranked Play
Don't bring Yasuo into ranked unless you are a experienced Yasuo player. I am not calling you guys bad at Yasuo, the reason is because Yasuo has too many hard matchups. If they see you picking Yasuo, they can easily counterpick you and the laning phase will be much harder. Also, I don'r recommend picking Yasuo if your team does not have anyone else to provide a knockup for you. Micromanaging your 3rd Q during a teamfight can be hard.
Pros / Cons
Pros / Cons
Yasuo is a champion that if you get behind on, it's really hard to catch up. However, if you get the slightest lead against your laner, the game should be easy as long as the enemy does not have a super fed person.
Yasuo has high damage output, really good mobility and decent croud control. However, Yasuo is extremely squishy (unless you are building tank). If you get cc'd and focused during a teamfight, its really hard to survive. He is like the AD-carry of the mid lane.
Teamfights
Teamfights
During a teamfight, you should never be the one who is starting the fight. Make sure your tanks go in first to soak up most of their CC, and then you can go in. It's even better if you have a knockup on your team, but if you don't, knock their main damage dealer up, ult him/her and kill that person. After that, with your 50% armor pen, you can start to melt their entire team. Remember: NEVER go in first, let your tanks go in, and then follow up.
If your team is the one who is getting engaged on, wind wall your adc, and block as much projectiles as possible, then disengage.
