trinity isnt a really op item on yorick, it's good but you are getting a little of many stats which in the end sums to nothing, yeah you get a decent passive but items like DD and Manamune on him work better, since his flaws arent related to damage , but utility. DD passive gives you a lot of time vs Bursts and Manamune gives a lot of Mana sustain. Yorick sure feels tanky but truth is that he is weak to cc and pretty squshy before any real tank item. Furthermore Tytanic Hydra is a decent item, but no more slot efficient since nerf and with yorick you dont need huge Hp (3k is enough) but raw stats, like armor , mr and AD. Since he deals mostly mixed dmg BC isnt slot efficient. A good build would be Corrupting, into tear(finish Manamune be4 35min mark), into Tank item , then Boots(if not already in your inventory), Sustain item(DD vs bursty, Gunblade vs kite) , Visage/Maw(Same thinking as be4), then Sheen item for CD cap (Gauntlet for utility, Trinity for split/duel ) or another tank item. You should end up with about 3k hp 230 armor, 180 mr, Anti burst passive 300 ad, lots of lifesteal( essencial for tanking since you dont get free defensive stats like Singed or Poppy ).Life steal from masteries is op in early since you will mostly abuse of pets in laing fase, while it is decent during the rest of the game. Grasp nerfed i think, so not really strong but still decent if you want to spam q in lane, beware it really falls off during the game if you dont go full Hp, which isnt optimal with yorick.Pls dont go full hp.

Trinity Force on Yorick gives him the needed movement speed, attack speed, and burst to push lanes quickly, decimate enemies who mess with him or try to run from him, and to escape successfully while outnumbered. It synergises very will with his whole kit. Along with Trinity Force it is good to grab Swifties and Zz'rot portal if you are split pushing. If you're not split pushing then Trinity Force is a lot more preference based and there are certainly other items worth looking at. However mana isn't really an issue on Yorick so Manamune would be a huge item slot waste. He'd do better with Iceborn Gauntlet.

Hello! So I've been playing yorick non-stop for a couple days, but I still can't seem to figure out the right way of thinking for how to build him. I've seen people rush triforce or deaths dance, trying to really build off of that +140% AD for you q. My problem is that if i don't secure a kill or two early game, I won't have enough gold to be able to finish one of those offensive items, and so I'm neither tanky nor the damage man. What happens is that if the enemy has a lot of range (kennan, jayce, syndra), then I get zoned so hard out of farm. In these situations, is it better to shoot for cheap tank items so that you don't get poked to death, or still try to get a deaths dance or black cleaver and try to go all in? I also see that you do not suggest AD focused items, which confuses me because in late game, your q only does like 210 damage if you don't take AD items, which is not a lot at all with people having health in the thousands and its on a 3-4 sec cool down. Are you playing more support role?

Sorry for all the questions, I absolutely love this champion, but I know Im doing something wrong!!!!

Hello! I mostly like to build Iceborn Gauntlet over Trinity Force just because Yorick has more than enough sustained damage and stickiness even without Trinity.

Trinity Force Yorick is pretty squishy till he starts getting tanky items. It's a great downside of Trinity even despite Trinity gets Yorick pretty good stats.

If you will get to meet a ranged matchup (Jayce, Vayne, Kennen, Ahri, Teemo, Syndra and so on), you must use a different build route to survive the lane. First, you are going to let them control the lane for a bit so they push it close to your tower. Then you will use your Last Rites to farm up relatively safe. If these cases, if your opponent is AP, you aim to rush either a Hexdrinker (if you plan to go more aggressive on lane, e.g. when your other lanes are losing and you will need to carry) or Spectre's Cowl (to upgrade into Spirit Visage later, it also gives you some protection against their damage. If your opponent is AD (for example, Jayce), you are going to rush Bami's Cinder, Ninja Tabi then go for your ordinary build. In general, your early game task is to lower the opponent's damage as much as you can before you can safely all-in them for guaranteed kills.

I'm wondering why you pick iceborn gauntlet over Tri Force

i do like this build its great, but lacks a couple of things like all champs but heres a synergy you might wanna try i thought i would try it and well it seems to do quiet well, But basically put a hex tech gunblade in the build (yes its a hybrid item and you might think why not deaths dance or something, but basically, your ult passive (every 2 seconds if you hit someone with the maiden you deal 5/7 etc% max health, which is normally quite a lot in magic damage, and with gunblade, your passive and your ult, gives you a god like sustain where your q below 50% hp with just a gunblade and a triforce will heal you for 500 hp, and other abilities as well. Also you nonstop heal while split pushing ( another words if you send your ult mid or bot and push top, you get the hp that it steals off of minions meaning you can duel people very nicely and stuff, it might be worth looking in to it because its actually really nice. and with spirit vasage and the slow you get fromt he blade you heal a ton and its practically another e.

Gunblade seems to be a good idea! I'll check it out today and will tell you the results.

I like it. :) I'm gonna have to continue reading this at another time. I have a jungle Yorick guide, but didn't really want to go as in-depth with the mastery tree as you did. As a jungler, you do a bazillion AA's, so Fury gets a ton of value. But now I'm curious about how Sorcery would play out.

Keep working on it. You're doing good. :)

Thank you! I'm also working on more matchups. Would especially like to go in-depth about my three main and most loved champions. Yorick vs Shyvana and Yorick vs Kled.

I've spent a ton of time to describe these masteries to be honest, but I think that it may give people some objective judgement about their usage and what/why to use.

Sorcery is also better in jungle if you go for Cooldown Reduction runes. Yorick is really eager to do these sweet Last Rites spams!

Look at that: it's benefittable for you to do any lasthitting with your Last Rites. It gives you so much more than 4% attack speed. It gives you 3 summons after the first pack cleared (Wolves is the best pack for such a Yorick to start from). If I'd ever played jungle as Yorick, he would have a flat Cooldown Reduction rune page and a mana sustain item. Definitely.

I'll update the guide soon. Stay tuned!

Hm, I should try it out sometime. :)

I actually don't suffer much from mana, but sometimes I'll get an Iceborn Gauntlet or Trinity Force just to be extra sure. :P Plus they're so versatile. xD

Just played top lane Yorick and was pleasantly surprised to find that he can solo Rift at like 7-ish even without smite. :)

Someday I wanna play a game with
Annie
Ivern
Shaco
Yorick
and
LeBlanc or Malzahar

Get everyone to buy Zz'Rot Portal and maybe one or two Banner of Command's. xD That mid lane push would be so bananas. Especially when you take Baron ('cause it's not like they can do anything about it).
