Axes mechanic

Learn to catch axes

After throwing a Spinning Axe, click in the direction you want it to land and it'll follow you. Although with enough move speed, you have to stop to catch the axes or move a little backwards since they always land the same distance away.

Try to use Blood Rush to catch axes if possible. If gonna go aggressive, try to click on the left or right after attacking to make axes drop on the side. This is a better positioning. Don't worry for can'r catch up to enemy because Draven has Blood Rush and Stand Aside

When chasing enemy as Draven with 2 Spinning Axe, no need to try so hard to catch the first Spinning Axe , because if you unable to catch it , you still can press Q to take out another one axe.

Tips to catch 2 Spinning Axe
Melody is important to catch 2 axes. If you're new to Draven , I suggest you to throw the second axe at the first axe drop point, as it will create a melody and able you to catch axes more easily.

This video will help you learn to play Draven , it also helps me many.

League of Draven

When Draven catches a Spinning Axe, kills a minion or monster or destroys a turret, he gains a stack of Adoration. In addition, Draven generates 2 bonus Adoration stacks if he kills 6 minions in a row without dropping an axe. When Draven kills an enemy champion, he consumes all of his Adoration stacks and gains 50 + (2 × stacks) gold. Draven loses half of his Adoration stacks upon death.

Spinning axe

COST: 45 MANA COOLDOWN: 12 / 11 / 10 / 9 / 8
ACTIVE: Draven starts spinning his axe, causing his next basic attack within 5.8 seconds to deal bonus physical damage.
BONUS PHYSICAL DAMAGE: 45 / 55 / 65 / 75 / 85% AD
The spinning axe ricochets off the target high up into the air, landing 2 seconds later at a location determined by Draven's current movement. If Draven catches an axe, Spinning Axe is applied for no additional cost on his next basic attack.
Draven can hold up to two Spinning Axes in his hands at once.

Blood Rush

COST: 40 MANA COOLDOWN: 12
ACTIVE: Draven gains bonus attack speed for 3 seconds and bonus movement speed which decays over 1.5 seconds.
MOVEMENT SPEED: 40 / 45 / 50 / 55 / 60%
ATTACK SPEED: 20 / 25 / 30 / 35 / 40%
Catching a Spinning Axe.png Spinning Axe resets Blood Rush's cooldown.

Stand Aside

COST: 70 MANA COOLDOWN:18 / 17 / 16 / 15 / 14
ACTIVE: Draven throws his axes in a line, Airborne icon knocking aside enemies hit, Slow icon slowing them for 2 seconds and dealing physical damage.
PHYSICAL DAMAGE:70 / 105 / 140 / 175 / 210 (+ 50% bonus AD)
SLOW:20 / 25 / 30 / 35 / 40%

Whirling Death

ACTIVE: Draven hurls Whirling Death Minimap two massive axes in the target direction, dealing physical damage to enemies struck.
PHYSICAL DAMAGE: 175 / 275 / 375 (+ 110% bonus AD)
Upon reaching the edge of the map, striking an enemy champion or upon the Whirling Death 2 reactivation of Whirling Death, the axes slowly come to a stop before changing direction and returning to Draven, dealing the same physical damage to every enemy struck on the way back.
Whirling Death deals 8% less damage for each unit hit, down to a minimum of 40% damage. This damage reduction resets when the axes reverse direction.
MINIMUM PHYSICAL DAMAGE:70 / 110 / 150 (+ 44% bonus AD)

Synergy

Synergy with Draven

These support has good synergy with Draven. Support takes a big part in bottom lane, a good ADc can't win without a good support. Synergy also is required .

Counter

Caitlyncan outpoke Draven in lane with her long range. Caitlyn can also escaped Draven aggression easily with her 90 Caliber Net.

Varus can pinpoint Draven position from his Spinning Axe and poke Draven as much as he can. It is very bad to Draven laning phrase.

Nautilus is the biggest counter to Draven. One R Depth Charge and bye Draven.

Pros / Cons

Pros

+ Attack\Movement speed steroid
+ Global ultimate
+ Blood Rush reset on catch of an axe
+ Lots of extra damage by axes if played correctly
Draven is a good pick in solo queue. His passive League of Dravencan help you gain extra gold. If good at Draven, you can carry your team to victory alone. Draven is a snowball champion, if early game has a lead, late game shouldn't has any problem.

Cons

-No escape
- Easily countered by CC
-Axes can be hard to catch
Draven has no dash ability, this is a weak point as an ADC. This may cause you to be caught easily. Draven also an early game dependant champion. If early game don't have a good lead, late game may fall off.

Berserker's Greaves 1100
Infinity Edge 3300
Rapid Firecannon 3000
Bloodthirster 3400
Phantom Dancer 2800
Lord Dominik's Regards 3000

Boot is a must to every League of Legend's champion. The most often boot for ADc is Berserker's Greaves . It provides lots of mobility and attack speed .

Infinity Edge is a MUST for Draven. Main damage and no more.

This is a new item in Lesgue of Legend. Now I'm still struggling whether to buy Statikk Shiv or Rapid Firecannon. But since the Statikk Shiv nerf, the conclusion is out.

Sustain item for every ADc. Very useful and recommended

Since the changes, Phantom Dancer has defensive passive,so I let it take part as a defensive item with tons of damage. Regarding to situation, Phantom Dancer can also replace by Mercurial Scimitar or Banshee's Veil.

Well, its Void Staff for ADc. A MUST when vs tanky team.

Tips

In my opinion, there are no marksman who can 1v1 Draven in lane. The only thing that's can be used to counter draven is a support. Aggressive support like Leona and Nautilus can be feared by Draven due to their aggressive playstyle. As a Draven player, I suggested you guys don't pick Draven or ask your support to pick disengage supports, Janna or Morgana when vs aggressive support.
