This is my first guide, mainly as a general guideline for myself,
but ofcourse I hope others will profit from it and comment.
I'm open for suggestions.

I'm building Shen as a defender/ taker for Dominion.
I get some AP/ offensive, while making sure my defenses are covered.

Some of the terms I use relate to the Dominion Guide Roles and Teamwork by Zemiazas

I'm starting with some general insights with Dominion and building Shen.
This explains a lot of the choices made.


defense:

* The Crystal Scar Aura gives armor pen and slighty less magic pen.
So stacking armor is less efficient in general and magic resistance slightly less so, but still important.

* Getting Exhaust will help you compensate with the effective armor reduction by reducing physical damage.

* Greater Glyph of Scaling Magic Resist and Resistance to add some extra magic resistance.

I feel health and dodge are better ways of keeping you alive in general.
To emphasise this I get Greater Seal of Evasion, Nimbleness , Veteran's Scars and 2x Greater Quintessence of Health.


offense:

All abilities scale with ability power, so to add more damage

* I take Greater Mark of Magic Penetration for extra damage on my Vorpal Blade

* Rylai's Crystal Scepter fast for the perfect mix of hp/ap/slow.
If my team is succesfull I take the AP items first, otherwise I try to get Giant's Belt asap.

* Rabadon's Deathcap for more damage mid-game.

* Lich Bane mainly for the passive


movement:

To add more movement speed I get 1x Greater Quintessence of Movement Speed, Boots of Swiftness
And Lich Bane later on.


point defense:

Shen has always been a good defensive character.
In Dominion roughly the same can be applied:

Using Shadow Dash on someone near your turret is still deadly.
Combine this with Garrison and the Reinforce mastery and you have a nice scare-tactic, and DPS.
When you get Feint and Odyn's Veil in there, you will become quite hard to kill as well.
Your tankyness and Garrison also makes you a decenter taker combined with an ally (DPS).
