I tend to go for the trinity force because of the extra movement speed, it provides more presence across the map and make for faster ganks and chases. The gaunlet is still good but you need to be close enough to land a basic attack for the slow to work. A fine example of the advantages of trinity was clear in my last game of Skarner, I was everywhere thanks to my movement speed and could really put alot of pressure on the lanes to gank or secure kills. They surrended when I was at 7-0-5.

Hmmm the way I build him is by how I jungle
You can go ancient golem to go full tank who spams like a beast
You can go elder lizard to be a DoT bruiser or you can go feral flare when you want to build alot of AD ...
The only 2 reasons why I would build trinity over iceborn is when I go feral or when I am fed

The main problem with skarner is that once you see you're opponent getting away ... he's gone ...

Exactly. This has been my experience since the changes. If he still had a slow on his Q I'd definitely forego the for something like a , but with the cheaper price of gauntlet in addition to the extra tankiness to get to the backline and don't die

Idk Nick, new Skarner's sticking power is pretty ****. Iceborn doesn't sound like too bad of an idea. It's also quite a bit cheaper than Triforce. I don't really see Skarner being able to finish trinity unless he's pretty ahead, but glacial is pretty easy to build.

What item would you take to help with getting to people that would replace it?

Pretty sure that is a lot stronger overall, or you could just choose to rush .
