// In this guide i will talk about Skarner as tank in Twisted Treeline. Now you might think that this is a really bad idea, but it's actually quite good.
Pros / Cons
+Fast movement speed
-Weak early game
-No 520 skins
// These summoner spells are in my opinion the best you can have in Twisted Treeline.
Heal: Gives you and allys around you a heal that might save a life.
Flash: A great spell to Escape with or catch an enemy.
//Other summoner spells that are good but not as usefull as the recommended.
Ghost: Gives you a 27% speed boost for 10 seconds, not recommended since Skarner has Crystalline Exoskeleton.
Exhaust: Slows a target by 40%, Not as usefull as Flash, not as usefull as Heal or Flash, can be chosen by a teammate that doesn't have Heal.
Ignite: Ignites a target dealing 70-410 true damage over 5 seconds and reduces healing effects, not as usefull as Heal or Flash, can be chosen by a teammate that doesn't have Heal nor Exhaust
// I choose damage reducing masteries for neutralizing minions, and higher survivability and movement speed masteries to chase enemys and to quickly escape when at very low health.
- Summoner's Resolve : Improves Heal by 10%
- Resistance : Extra magic resist.
- Hardiness : Extra armor.
- Tough Skin : Reduces damage taken from minions and monsters.
- Durability : +6 Health per level (+108 at level 18)
- Indomitable : Reduces incoming damage.
- Veterans Scars : Bonus health.
- Bladed Armor : Returns minion damage.
- Initiator : Bonus movement speed.
- Honor Guard : Reduces damage taken.
- Juggernaut : Increases maximum health by 3%
- Summoner's Insight : Reduces Flash cooldown.
- Expanded Mind : Bonus mana.
: Monus movement speed.

Skarner has quite low attack speed as a tank, and his passive energize benefits from this. (You can use most runes here)
- Greater Seal of Armor
Higher Armor means taking less damage, which allows you to stay on your lane longer.
- Greater Glyph of Scaling Magic Resist
Higher Magic resist also means taking less damage, which allows you to stay on your lane longer.
- Greater Quintessence of Health
Makes you less squishy early game.
// I use Fracture to poke enemies,
Crystal Slash to farm, Crystalline Exoskeleton> Fracture> Crystal Slash to jungle
and Impale> Crystal Slash> Fracture> Crystalline Exoskeleton to initiate.
Skarner, this also makes skarner charged for 5 seconds, if used again while Skarner is charged all targets hit also get slowed for 2 seconds. (This ability is spammable) I choose "crystal slash" on level 2 and max it on level 14.
Skarner gets a shield for 6 seconds, while he is shielded his attack and movement speed are increased. I choose "crystalline exoskeleton" on level 4 and max it on level 18.
Skarner launches a short blast which damages enemies hit and marks them for 6 seconds, when Skarner hits a marked enemy he heals himself, subsequent hits reduce the heal by 50% from the last. I choose Fracture on level 1 and max it on level 9.
Skarner suppresses a target for 1.75 seconds and deals some damage, while the target is suppressed he can drag his target.
// I like to start with mana crystal, a Health Potion and a Mana Potion since Skarners mana is a problem. I try to get my Tear of the Goddess as soon as possible to get my mana up, Usually i also have the gold to buy Boots of Speed at the same time.
Choose if you are up against a balanced team.
Choose if you are up against an AP based team.
Choose if you are up against an AD based team.
Choose Mercury's treads if you are facing an AP or CC heavy team.
Choose Ninja tabi if you are facing an AD heavy team.
: Not as useful as mana potions since skarner has Fracture
: You should always have theese in your bag or your mana will run out.
