Thanks Cilaren. As you said, a well farmed sona is a force to be reckoned with. Personally, I usually run with a duo partner, who either lanes with me as the AD carry, or jungles, since I can hold a lane fairly well. Either way, feeders or leavers really do screw you over.

As for the CDR, Morello's Evil Tome paired with the masteries give 29% reduction, which seems like plenty to me. But as I said, make this guide your own! If you find another item you'd rather use, then try it out and let me know how it worked for ya :) Personally, I like morello's cause it gives ap, regen, and cd.

maybe you should try CDR per lvl Glyphs. at lvl 18 they give almost 10% added on top of your masteries and items give you around 39% CDR.

i honestly dont play sona as much as i used to anymore since at my ELO i get alot leavers and feeders and just have bad games were i dont do that great anyway. and if you have 1 bad person it get increasingly difficult to win. and Sona can have some problems holding a tower when you get abandoned by your lane partner to 1v2 (usually a DPS and a Tank, like Yi and Alistar).

but she is probably the most fun support champ I've played. Although the best part is the Auto-Aimed Heals. idk how many times i miss-clicked and healed a Minion when playing Taric or soraka.

as for the "Cost Issue". in my opinion everyone should try to get 300 Creep kills per game in a 35-40 min game. add in a few kills and/or assists and you have Plenty of Gold.
Some people just dont know how to Farm them Potatoes

My Personal Goal is to get 300+ in EVERY game. I've been able to do it a few times but not every time, sometime you just get shut out or out ranged.

All in all a Good guide.

Updated; buying rabadon's before finishing archangel's now. Also switched out lich bane for will of the ancients. Build costs 14605 rather than just under 16000 now. Also, roughly the same amount of AP, along with an AP/spell vamp aura :]

Thanks :) Sorry the voting is being weird :/ I also wanted to mention, the other sona guides cost around the same as mine, if not more. There's one that is cheaper, but I don't see it being a viable choice as a support or as a caster. If you want a champion that can support in more ways than just passively standing there, then AP sona is what you want.

Thanks for the mention at the end there, but really it's hard not to give compliments when most games you can range from 20/3/30-30/5/40 so it's all you.
I have to say though that this is really well put together. The arrangement and order is easy and understandable(despite the length).
I have a few suggestions though:
-possibly trading flash for teleport or ghost. I've found that flash does save from ganks as Sona but in most cases the actual ability to GET somewhere is more important. As a support you need to be there for your fellow champs. Having tp and the mix between ghost and song of celerity allows you to get to your teammates in any dire situation or get away from enemies when a team-fight turns bad
-this one isn't that big but I think that Sona could benefit from AP glyphs as opposed to the magic penetration glyphs you have set now. This allows for an overall powerup instead of an attack-based increase
-I don't really quite know an alternative but I suggest possibly scrapping Guardian Angel and going for something with more of a health focus. I don't see how the revival can be useful since in most cases where Sona dies is in an overwhelming gank or difficult situation. If you died once, what makes you think you'll do better the second time? (I don't really think this is a huge deal since you have this item as icing on the cake, but I do believe that this is an interchangeable item if one were to actually reach this point in the build)
-lastly I just overall reccomend going for clarity instead of CV. when I play with you I've noticed that you run out of mana at least every other minute. And I do enjoy your CV when a gank is in the making but honestly I think your use of abilities would be more useful. I do however understand the diversity and variety of uses for CV, and you make the best of it but I wouldn't suggest it to anyone but yourself. Mainly because most people don't play this way, and would likely change it anyway.

Soooooooooooo, yeah. Awesome build. To any skeptics out there I've seen him do a whole flipping lot with this build and if you want to reach the optimal potential as Sona I highly recommend you follow his lead. Good job BlueLeaderOne! Keep up the work <3

It's expensive, yes, and if you play well, you really shouldn't be getting to the end there. Also, being near your team as sona results in auto-assists, due to her auras, resulting in a bit extra gold gain. I'm working on an alternative item list that could be used instead, but as I said, the item build is tentative. It's what I've used, and what I've thrived off of. And if you've played with an AP sona, you'd know that she's more than simply support :)

Your items cost 16k gold which a support shouldn't be farming for.
