Thanks your your vote and the tip :)

Good that you did it because I forgot to ask you something. I've read and really enjoyed your support guide and it covers the lane matchups really well. Do you mind me linking it in my guide to get me the missing infos and you some more viewers?

Btw. I am a musician as well :P

Can't say no to linking it. I'd also ask you what you think of what I wrote on Sona. I think she has some obvious weaknesses dealing with hard engages. She's a good support for Kog'Maw but not the best because she partially, but not completely, mitigates his general gank vulnerability.

And I so can tell you're a musician from that guide. Heh.

Thank you :)

About hard engages: The problem of those who can do it such as Blitzcrank, Alistar and Leona is obvious: They have to be in range and it's in 99% a skillshot. That means you can easily counter them by warding their brush and dodge all the stuff they throw at you. It will drain their mana very quick and while they got cooldowns, they got nothing on Sona. I think the problem is here that I play only these three besides Sona and know exactly what they do and where their range is. This way I can handle them much easier than a nonplayer would. However: I totally agree with you IF you get caught you are screwed. Flash + Crescendo + Exhaust + Song of Celerity will get you out but not when you are constantly CCed until you die and not while these are on cooldown.

About Kog'Maw and the others: I agree with all of the champs you listed viable because they all got something I call the "BOOM! - effect" and work really well in both poking and nuking. Kog'Maw is no nuker and has such a bad follow up that it's unbelievable. However Vayne with maxed Condemn and Tumble got nuking powers and mobility early and can do really well with a Crescendo combo. This setup depends extremely on Vayne's play style.

Funny is that Kog'Maw synergies best with her Hymn of Valor because he has AP ratios and long range AD poke + his ulti, with Aria of Perseverance and it's Power Chord because he's squishy as hell and vulnerable to nuking and with Song of Celerity because he is soooo slow that it's not funny. I know this because I play with a premade Kog'Maw only player. We do really well in trading but killing someone is really hard while getting killed is super easy when the enemy lane got nukers with CC. Also Kog'Maw got mana problems and if he takes burst damage, Sona got them too because her W will drain her mana too quickly

I'd say its a two edged sword. There are deffo better options for killing / not getting killed but for killing with Vayne and afk farming with Kog'Maw she's really good.

Well well, to be honest, nearly the every single way to play sona, covered well, new and fresh... what can this poor Holypulse ask for more? Good build and effort given, +1. Btw, about the hard engages, Sona can grab people from a fairly decent range before getting herself in danger, befitting her allies with her auras, thus, IMO, she is a pretty good engager, better than Alistar but worst than Leona and somewhere near the Blitzcrank. GL with your build. IMO should be the top guide here for support sona. BUMPS!

A little bit on your runes. They are definitely suboptimal. I don't rune offensively on supports. This is my Sona rune page: Greater Mark of Armor greater seal of replenishment Greater Glyph of Scaling Magic Resist Greater Quintessence of Gold.

I rarely take mpen runes (I do if I'm Lulu and I need to fight an armor stacker such as Taric), and I NEVER take AP. Nine Greater Glyph of Scaling Ability Power gives 27 AP at max level. That's 19 extra damage on Hymn of Valor and 10 extra heal on Aria of Perseverance. Totally not worth it. You should run a lot of AP or not at all, and it is usually justifiable if you're a mid laner. Plus, a Sona with not a single defensive rune is squishy as hell and very susceptible to being bursted down.

My runes are not my runes :)

As explained in the guide, all runes, masteries and items are totally dependent on the situation. While you were reading the guide I have added a larger section of them in the guide to get myself more clear about it ;)

So why magic penetration marks are viable: Sona has more on her sleeve but just the flat damage: The Power Chord system is afflicted by levels and magic penetration. Bot lanes usually don't have that much magic resistance, so flat penetration hurts a lot early until they get decent items. If you want to trade efficient you have to deal larger damage because, you wrote it in your guide, she is a poke champion.

Seals are not open for discussion. I have added them last evening to the runes section anyways but I never have ran out of mana because I got so much gold that I got my philo much earlier than other supports I guess. I spamm a lot but it doesn't take me oom.

And now glyphs: Sona is not only a poke but also a burst character. At level 6 she begins to oneshot people and that when these runes kick in. They are effective because they boost Hymn of Valor and Crescendo while the marks make sure the damage doesn't get blocked.

Now if you look into my match history you will see a 3 0 13 Sona ranked game. I have used these runes and believe it or not, we bursted a Janna Ezreal combo into the ground without any danger of getting killed. I had 5 x times more gold than Janna while warding and buying oracle.

But for your defense: Your rune build was already implemented if you want to take a look at the last build :P It's all situational, I run them when I feel like killing. I don't run those in a Kog'Maw lane obviously.

Getting downvotes sucks...

Edit: 10 different builds with walls and walls of text with less than 20 tabs to find your way around this guide, and the tabs are horrible. I am sure there is lots of good information in here but it is so disorganized with the tabs reading "Every music has it's price..." which is cute but once again fails to help people navigate your guide; infact the only way to even know what you were meaning when you wrote that would be to go there and read it- more confusion no order. There is only one way to read your guide and that is from start to finish and even that seems out of order.

Note regarding the author of this guide:

He randomly downvotes any other guide that competes against his own. When asked why he responds with;

"I don't like color in guides..."

This guy is a mad troll voter and his guide shouldn't be read by anyone. He edits his responses so it might read different when you read it.

I'll leave this here as a warning for all those looking at his guides and those who might think about voting themselves: don't support trolls.

Thanks,

Ssenkrad II

Getting downvotes sucks...

Wow, that took long.

Since I remember trolls are pretty fed on this site, took ages to get one here as it seems.

Don't worry little buddy, there will be a day you will learn reading English or handle the written, even if it criticizes your build. I'm glad you did this as it shows me the guide is perfect because you are so afraid you want to downvote it :)

Showing of how pathetic you are is very nice and just supports my thoughts on you.
