Katarina Build Guide by Astor Royal

Introduction

Hi Guys whaaaaats up?

This is my first guid i really work on, the others will follow.
If you have any sugestions of making it better, please write in the comments.

As u all know Katarina was remacked at the 16.08.12.
In my opinion one of the best remakes of Riot.

Her Ultimate Death Lotus got now a 300% AD and a 175% AP skalling.

Her Q skill, Bouncing Blades now leaves a mark that deals good Dmg.

Her W skill, Sinister Steel is now a Dmg Skill.

Her E skill, Shunpo was a bit nerverd. But it will deal great Dmg in late game.

Now Katarina skill deals really OOOP dmg.

This is a guid to be really great with Katarina.

Pros / Cons

Pros.

Kata really deals a high among of damge

Bouncing Blades is a great harras.

Shunpo is great to hunt down enemys or jumo in teamfigts (ganking included) and for runnig away

You can counter any inviible Champ (like Akali)with Sinister Steel

Death Lotus can be an easy pentakill

looks great and has great skins

NO MANA = its just to OP





Cons.

kind of squishi

focused a lot when the enemy team realise that u are much too op

no cc (with is not bad the dmg is great enoth)

cc will be ur death (watch out for Nautilus)

Runes

9x greater mark of strength it benefites with Death Lotus and Sinister Steel

9x greater seal of vitalitygreater seal of vitality size nice for surviving the early game and best for NOT buying on health.

9x greater glyph of force you will have nice AP witch is great for Bouncing Blades and Shunpo

3x greater Quintessence of Strength again: it benefites with Death Lotus and Sinister Steel

Summoner Spells

Best choice:



Becaus Death Lotus + Ignite= kill



Jumping away with Shunpo and Flash. When you do that its almost impossible to hunt you down.


Alternatives:

Surge can be kind of good, i dont prefer it but it shall do fine.

Teleport shall do fine when your ane is top. Again, not my favorite.

Heal will save your *** in early game, but you dont need it if you are carefull.

Exhaust will get you a kill or two, but with Ignite will get you much more.

Items

Standartbuild:


Start:

Start with Boots of Speed and 3x Health Potion or with Amplifying Tome and Health Potion or if you want Doran's Shield (im not recomandig this and im not going in detail while i explain the items)

I prefer Amplifying Tome and Health Potion, because with your runes you will have quite good AP.

Early game:

The first time you go back, you should be able to grap and Hextech Revolver or if you started with Boots of Speed just Hextech Revolver. The money is the same (surprise, surprise...).

Then you go for Sorcerer's Shoes, Mejai's Soulstealerand Sword of the Occult.

If its going really bad for you, then you should go after the Sorcerer's Shoes to a Hextech Gunblade.

Mid Game:

Now, you´ll grap The Bloodthirster. If you are asking why, then just think about the 300% AD skalling on your .

The Bloodthirster is not optional. For this build you need this item.

And finish the Hextech Gunblade if its not finished jet.

If you finished the Hextech Gunblade in early game, buy a Rabadon's Deathcap

Optional you can buy a Rylai's Crystal Scepter. You get some life and a slow. Im not buying this in midgame, because i dont need to.

But if its really going bad, dont hasitate and buy it.

Endgame:

If you bought a Rylai's Crystal Scepter, buy a Bloodthirster.

If not (wich would be good) buy Rabadon's Deathcap.

If you got the Rabadon's Deathcap buy a Guinsoo's Rageblade.

When finished, buy the elixirs, they give you great power for low money (you dont need money any more so )

Build 2

Farming

Farming with Katarina is really easy.

Use Bouncing Blades and then Sinister Steel.
Thats most likly enogth to kill an entire minion wave ( in mid-end).

In early game you need to kill minions with theBouncing BladesSinister Steel combo, while hiting with auto attacks.

Creeping / Jungling

Just dont do that.

If you need money, go from mid (or solo top) inside the jungle and kill some creeps jusst like farming.

Fights

When fight 1 on 1 use your Bouncing Blades followed from Shunpo and use Sinister Steel imidiatly. If you are level 6 (or higher) and the enemy got some health left, use Death Lotus followed from Ignite.


When a teamfight starts, wait till the enemy team used the cc and then SHUNPO!!!!! in and use
Death Lotus.
After that you will probaply have killed 1-2 enemys.
That means that you can repeat your combo.
Repeat till you got a penta, ace or no enemy is in sight.
