So, Welcome to my first Guide, featuring Viktor, the Machine Herald.

Why should I care about this guide?
It was probably always your goal to dominate every single mid lane opponent you faced. You probably tried multiple champions and never found your favourite. Because of this, let me tell you right now:

If you're the type of mid laner that enjoys dishing out Tons of dmg, being an unhandleable threat for your enemys and making them mad then play Viktor

And just to show you that i know what i'm talking about, here are my Statistics I've already gathered this Season as Viktor:

So here are Viktor's strengths:

-TONS OF DMG (Lich Bane + Q dmg = Dead ADC)
-Very good scaling
-Has an AoE Stun
-Very flexible
-Being underastimated

He has his fair share of weaknesses too though:

-Not very mobile
-Weak disengage (W)
-E is not easy to land
-Relies on the teamcomp (Synergies for example Jarvan)
-Kind of squishy

I usually pick Flash and Ignite on Viktor, as for most of the midlaners. You could go for Exhaust or Barrier if you are facing burst Champions like Zed or Syndra.

So, here's what we're dealing with:



Cool icons, huh? Now, for the reading:

Glorious Evolution
This is a very unique passive that makes Viktor scale very well into the Late-Game, so let me throw you some facts into the face:

-Each Upgrade costs 1000g and gives you MORE AP PER LEVEL, +20 Base AP per Upgrade and MANA that stacks up to +168 AP AND 500 MANA at lvl 18
-Each Upgrade gives you an Evolution Point to Upgrade your basic abilitys
-Once you upgraded your Q, W and E your Ult Upgrades automatically
-Overall a 3000g item but it is worth 4600 Gold


Siphon Power
This is your Tool to trade with your opponent in the Lane and has all you will need to win the trade:

-It gives you a SHIELD
-It does a bit amount of dmg to your opponent
-The Upgraded Q gives you 30% extra Movespeed for 2.5 Seconds after use, which is more usefull than you may think

But the most important part of this ability is the DischargeBuff you gain of this, which enhances your next Auto Attack and SCALES with Viktors Level (This is the reason why Lich Bane is a very good item on Viktor in the Late-Game).


Gravity Field
This is the only kind of CC Viktor can provide:

-Slows your enemies by a percentage that depends on how much Points you have put into the ability
-It lasts for 4 seconds
-Enemies in the field gather Stacks every 0.5 seconds
-At 3 Stacks, they are stunned for 1.5 seconds
-The Upgraded Field will drag stunned enemies into they center which is very nice to land your E better
-It can block entire Jungle-Paths

Death Ray
Oh yeah, now we're talking guys. THIS is Viktor's Signature move:

-It does TONS OF DMG
-It has a great range
-The Upgraded Laser does even more dmg

The thing about the Upgraded E is, that it creates an Aftershock that deals 40% of the Lasers dmg to enemies already hit by the laser, which if often underastimated. Another feature is that if you missed your Laser on an enemy but the Aftershock hits him it will deal as much dmg as the initial Laser.


Chaos Storm
And now for his Ultimate:

-It does Initial Dmg AND dmg over Time for 7 seconds
-It interrupts Channel-Type-Abilities (for example Katarina's Death Lotus)
-It is controllable by pressing R
-The Upgraded Chaos Storm (moves 20% faster) makes it better to stick at its Target

So this is the Runepage i'm running on Viktor:



There is nothing much to explain here. It provides everything Viktor needs plus the CDR is very important on him due to the fact that you won't buy any CDR items on him. You already get Armor and MR from the Zhonya's Hourglass and Abyssal Mask.

So, as usual, you Start with a Doran's Ring and 2 Health Potion and not to forget your included Prototype Hex Core.

You should gather at least 1000 gold at your first Backport and purchase Hex Core MK-1 followed by Sorcerer's Shoes. IF you are screwed out of the lane due to an early gank by the enemy Jungler, you should get Boots, some Potions and Wards.


After that, it depends who you are facing in the Lane. If you are against an AD you should get a Zhonya's Hourglass, because most of the AD midlaners you will face is Zed or Yasuo and the extra armor from it is quite useful. Otherwise you should take an Abyssal Mask for the extra MR and MR reduction on the enemies.

If, however, you are stomping your opponents you can also purchase an Void Staff instead of the Abyssal Mask, which is the more safe way.

I usually finish my Build up with Lich Bane and a Rabadon's Deathcap to oneshot people.
AND don't forget to buy Elixir of Sorcery.

If you want the safe way you can also purchase an Guardian Angel instead of the Zhonyas or the Abyssal Scepter if you think that you're dieing to fast.

And here are some reasons why you should never buy Rylai's Crystal Scepter

-Half of the given Health is already in the Runes
-The 100 AP is nice but there are items with more
-The slow effect is also nice to have but you should not need it because you need other items like Lich Bane

In a nutshell:

Hex Core MK-1--> Sorcerer's Shoes--> Abyssal Mask/ Void Staff--> Zhonya's Hourglass--> Lich Bane--> Rabadon's Deathcap

Hex Core MK-2 Around lvl 11-13
Perfect Hex Core Around lvl 15-17

Early-Game:
Also called laning phase, it usually lasts until around level 9-13. This phase usually ends when one or two towers are destroyed and people leave their lanes (Usually bot).

Your Objectives through this Stage of the Game:
-Farm
-Harrass/Zone your Opponent with Siphon Power and Death Ray
-Push Mid-Tower
-Roam/Gank Top/Botlane
-Invade the enemy Jungle to catch maybe their Jungler
-Keep in mind that your Gravity Field has a long CD at this time, so use it wisely, in this case to escape ganks

Mid-Game:
This is when there are small skirmishes, usually 4v4 around drake and mid. Suffering a defeat in a teamfight here isn't very penalizing. Most players have 1 or 2 complete items. (Not counting boots and low price items)

Your Objectives through this Stage of the Game:
-Get the Tier 1 Mid/Bot turret through roaming
-Secure Drake
-Catch an enemy, maybe in the enemy Jungle (Keyword: Wards)

Late-Game:
This is when fights are 5v5, most players are over level 14-15 and unlike Mid-Game, which is around mid and drake, Late-Game is usually around mid and baron. Losing a fight here could mean the end of the game.

The Points i told you in the Mid-Game apply in the Late-Game too with the difference that Baron is now the Target with the Drake.

Important factors to know:
-Viktor is one of the best late-game champions
-Viktor is very good at protecting, but if given the chance, he will burst down the enemy carry
-Viktor likes to have blue, although now he has a good mana pool lategame
