Not Updated For Current Season
The masteries shown here are not yet updated for the current season, the guide author needs to set up the new masteries. As such, they will be different than the masteries you see in-game.
Welcome to my first guide. Now Udyr is a tough champ to master just like any other champ it takes time to become better with him. If you follow my guide I can take you on those steps to becoming a better player. Please rate, comment, and enjoy.
x9 Greater Mark of Desolation Waste through your enemies armor.
x5 Greater Seal of Attack Speed Attack Speed is what makes Udyr The *** Whooping Wookie.
x4 Greater Seal of Armor Add more surviability to early game.
x9 Greater Glyph of Attack Speed Same reason as above.
x3 Greater Quintessence of Desolation Armor Pen what can I say :D
Strongly recommend these runes, but ultimately its up to you on what you choose.
You want to start off with Dagger amps up your already juiced up attack speed. Stay in your lane until you reached 500 and go back and grab your Berserker's Greaves. If you have to port back for some reason you can grab your Boots of Speed and come back when you have 150 for the Berserker's Greaves. Usually I just lane until I can afford Wriggle's Lantern (love this item for the free ward! Make sure to use it, vitial for a good team) but if you feel like you are getting harrassed pretty well in your lane, buy the Vampiric Scepter. Grab another Vampiric Scepter and you won't be dying anytime soon. Once you have enough port back and grab your The Bloodthirster. Build Zeal first, then Phage and purchase Trinity Force. Now here is where your LoL instincts kick in. You will need to build Udyr in a way to counter your oppenents. I like building Atma's Impaler and then Warmog's Armor very fun to watch your enemies use so many abilities and not do much. Plus the health from Warmog's Armor stacks well with the 2% damage based upon health from Atma's Impaler.
(Suggested by munguia92 switch Warmog's Armor for Banshee's Veil)
You want to level up Tiger Stance first because that is your main source of damage. Bear Stance at lvl 2 because the stun is nice for early ganks. Tutrle Stance at lvl 3 for mana regen/ lifesteal. Now you want to lvl your Tiger Stance fully while switching between Bear Stance and Turtle Stance. Phoenix Stance last because I do not use it.
How To Play
In a nut shell you want to play Udyr like this.
When coming upon and enemy champion 1v1 you want to Bear Stance for increased movement speed and stun effect. Once the champ is stunned, Tiger Stance and when your CD on Bear Stance is up, use it again and reapeat.
Now if you are being ganked you want to run away and switch of between Bear Stance and Turtle Stance. You will get movement speed from Bear and a nice shield from Turtle, normally if done correct you can escape ALMOST any gank.
If you are low on mana/hp go farm some minions in Turtle Stance. Once you acquire The Bloodthirster your Turtle Stance will regen full health with a wave of creeps.
Team fights, play smart and coordinate with your team. Go for the squishy first because your Bear Stance + Tiger Stance combo will obliterate them. 1 man down, your enenmy will either be super pissed off or run away. If they become enraged, thats good for you! Why? Because when people are pissed they make a lot more mistakes.
Exhaust What can I say, great for stopping a dps from shredding you apart, or an enemy on you caught off guard to ensure the kill. Ghost I feel like this spell is awesome as well. When you play Udyr people are scared so they will always run away. Although Ghost doesn't make you run Mach 5 it can help along with your Bear Stance for increased movement speed.
I hope my guide at least somewhat helps you. Don't forget to rate if it helped you. Also feel free to comment with questions or suggestions always love those. Thanks for taking the time to read my guide.
