Introduction

I am very sorry if this guide isn't as detailed as I would like it to be. I would have put much more detail into this guide if I knew how to make it look nicer. This guide just shows the build I would tend to use for an AD heavy team. I spent a lot of time on this guide and I hope it helps you win games :).

Summoner Spells

I would personally recommend taking flash, ignite as the ignite helps for the early kills as Jax excels early game and flash is such a great escape mechanism. Another possibility is to take ghost as it makes it easier to kill your targets but as you will be getting frozen mallet I would recommend that you take flash instead.

Abilities

I would recommend taking his E first so that you can battle it out at level one just using his passive with his auto attacks to win level 1 trades and possibly even get a kill using ignite mixed with the stun. I personally take W second to make last hitting easier and engages better for you. Then take his Q so that you can get a level 3 kill. You max his Q first by level 9 so that you have incredible killing ability as it is a very good source of damage. Next you level his Q as it lowers the cool down of the jump making it easier to escape and chase targets. The reason why his E is maxed last is because the stun and dodge duration remains the same. I get sheen next as Jax is very mana heavy early on and therefore needs the extra mana given from sheen, he also benefits greatly from the passive as it allows him to burst down targets very quickly which is what Jax excels at, the AP which sheen gives in an added bonus which helps all his

Masteries

I choose to play Jax 21/9 masteries as I feel that his ultimate mixed with his Q gives him great escape and survivability in a team fight or even a 1 vs 1 fight and therefore he benefits more from the extra AP and AD from the Offense side of masteries.

Runes

I would suggest getting flat AD marks as it can help get him early kills in lane which will help him snowball therefore potentially carrying games. Flat armor seals is the best way for Jax as top lane is usually an AD opponent. Scaling magic resist seals is good as it means that you have a lot of resistance late game against the APC which will be Jax's main downfall as he cannot use his E to dodge their damage like he can against ADC's. I prefer to take flat AD quints as I am all about the early game damage to make it easier to snowball late game with the early kills. You may feel like taking movement speed or armor pen quints and those are good suggestions, but I feel that Jax does not need the movement speed at all with his Frozen Mallet and extra movement speed from Tri-force.

Items

I like to start off with the traditional boots x3 pots as it gives Jax the necessary speed to land his stun on enemies in lvl 1 fights. I then proceed to get a quick giants belt as it is not too costly meaning you can get it early on without having to stay in lane too long and possibly die waiting for more gold. It allows you to play more aggressively as the jugnler will not want to gank as much, because you are tanky enough to escape with your Q or flash. I then take an early Blade of the Ruined King on Jax as it benefits him greatly with attack speed, life steal and damage. After that you may take either Ninja Tabi's or Mercury Treads depending on if their team is Heavy AD or AP. I get sheen next as Jax is very mana heavy early on and therefore needs the extra mana given from sheen, he also benefits greatly from the passive as it allows him to burst down targets very quickly which is what Jax excels at, the AP which sheen gives in an added bonus which helps all his abilities except for his E. I tend to get Phage next for the extra tankiness and slow to help kill champions easier under the turret. I then tend to finish off Tri-Force so that I am more powerful in team fights. The next item I choose to get is Frozen Mallet as by this time i usually need more health to be able to engage without dying instantly. After that I like to get another giants belt as I feel I can engage easier, I also take it because it builds into an excellent item later to make sure the ADC's aren't able to kill me before I have a chance to react. The Next Item I get is a Ravenous Hydra as it gives more life steal and damage and AOE damage which is prefect for making Jax able to carry easier. As my last item I choose to take a Randuin's Omen as it gives loads of armor which si good because by this point the ADC's are the most powerful force in the game and it also gives me health which is always nice for a Bruiser.
