Introduction

Hey MobaFire! My IGN is ElderPeko and I am a Coach/Analyst for Emerald eSports Ireland!

Morgana was originally one of my favorite champions for Mid-Lane when I originally started playing, but she has transitioned to be much better suited for the support role. Morgana excels against teams that are very reliant on crowd control. She generally does not have many poor matchups in the bottom lane, which is why she had such an impact in Season 4

This guide is written assuming that you, as a Support player, have a general idea of your positioning and responsibilities in team fights as well as in laning phase.

Laning Phase

In lane you should feel free to choose Ignite or Exhaust.

Ignite is favorable in matchups where you know you are going to be the aggressor, and are playing against squishier champions like Sona, Janna, or Nami to benefit from the healing reduction.

Take Exhaust if you feel like you will not have much kill potential on your enemy laners, or if you think you need it for another threat on the enemy team. (i.e. Master Yi, Udyr, etc.)

In laning phase, a well placed Dark Binding is what is going to seal the deal for early kills. Harassing can become a problem for Morgana if you are not comfortable with her attack animation as it has a fairly long wind-up. Take charge of the bush and punish anyone who comes in range of a free Dark Binding Tormented Shadow combo.

Once you hit level 4 you should be able to have a lot of pressure on the enemy laners assuming you are comfortable landing your skillshot!

Dragon Control

Generally, if your team is even or ahead, you will be contesting dragons fairly early. Your job as Morgana will be to gain adequate vision of the enemy jungle to understand their positioning. Let your team react know so they can react appropriately to the signs of early enemy grouping.

If you are playing Morgana from the Blue side you should place your wards at the enemy Blue buff, behind the wolf camp/banana bush in midlane, and buy a pink ward for the river itself (This will mitigate stealth champions impact on the dragon fight, and will also make sure the dragon area is free of wards).

Remember to always cast Black Shield on yourself when facechecking a brush to get vision, especially in the river

If you are playing Morgana from the Purple side, you should place your wards behind the enemy Red buff, in the Tri-brush, and again, place a pink ward in the river itself.

Team Fighting

Team fighting is fairly simple as Morgana, and often times you can be the one to iniate a fight with a well placed Dark Binding. Prepare yourself for the upcoming fight and be ready to cast Black Shield on the target that is most vulnerable to CC. If you have completed Zhonya's Hourglass you should be able to walk into the center of the enemy team, and use Soul Shackles followed by Zhonya's Hourglass. After this combo has ticked, the fight will generally be dispersing, and you should tend to the wounds of your ADC or pick off any remaining enemies with Dark Binding
