Champion Build Guide

Whisky's Yasuo Guide for Winners

By Zee Led
Introduction
Hi
I'm Whisky, mostly playing on EUNE server. My peak rank was D1, currently maintaining diamond elo in EUNE and EUW servers. I have over 120k maestry on yasuo. I loved that champion since he got realised, mostly because I'm having fun with mobile champions. I'm here to share my experience with you.
About Yasuo
Yasuo is the strongest in mid/late game, when he gets his core items. Very good champion to play in soloq, since you can solocarry games easily. He is quite difficult to master, but when you do, you can be unstoppable in soloq. It's perfect champion for people with aggressive playstyle.
Abilities
Way of the Wanderer (Passive)
Yasuo's Critical Strike Chance is doubled. Additionally, Yasuo builds toward a shield whenever he is moving. The shield triggers when he takes damage from a champion or monster.

Steel Tempest (Q)
Thrusts forward, dealing 20/45/70/95/120 (+100% Attack Damage) physical damage. On hit, grants a stack of Gathering Storm for 6 seconds. At 2 stacks, Steel Tempest fires a whirlwind that knocks Airborne.
Steel Tempest is treated as a basic attack: It can critically strike, applies on-hit effects, is interruptible by crowd control and its cooldown and cast time are reduced by Attack Speed. If cast while dashing, Steel Tempest will strike as a circle.

Wind Wall (W)
Creates a moving wall that blocks all enemy projectiles for 4 seconds.

Sweeping Blade (E)
Dashes through target enemy, dealing 60/70/80/90/100 (+60% Ability Power) (+20% bonus Attack Damage) magic damage. Each cast increases your next dash's base Damage by 25%, up to +50%.Cannot be re-cast on the same enemy for 10/9/8/7/6 seconds. If Steel Tempest is cast while dashing, it will strike as a circle.

Last Breath (R)
Blinks to an Airborne enemy champion, dealing 200/300/400 (+150% bonus Attack Damage) physical damage and holding all Airborne enemies in the area in the air for an additional 1 second(s). Grants maximum Flow but resets all stacks of Gathering Storm. For 15 second(s), Yasuo's critical strikes gain 50% Bonus Armor Penetration - this affects Armor from items, buffs, and runes.
Pros and cons

Pros:

+Very strong in roams
+Quick wave clear
+Mobility
+No mana or energy
+Small cooldown on abilities
+Big solocarry potential

Cons:

-Hard to master
-Hard to get into fights with no knockups in team
-Small sustain in fights against CC's

Example matchups
Akali

Akali is currently one of the most popular midlane champions, she's hard to deal with because of her W, which is hard to counter, but has big cooldown. What you want to do is bait her W, in order to do that you go in aggressively, after she uses 2 Q's, she has no energy and is forced to W, immediately after she uses that ability you dash away, so make sure you have minions to escape. If you successfully waste her W, you can all in her and kill easily. If you do that, you will outtrade her every time and potentially kill. Akali is most dangerous, when she hits level 6, if she gets ahead make sure to get hexdrinker early.

Zed

Zed matchup is even for yasuo. Avoid his combo with windwall or dashes. Go in small trades, like Q+auto and then dash away, so he can't proc his electrocute. If he uses his W, it's the best chance for you to kill him, since W cooldown is high and he can't win without shadow. Also remember this, when zed ults you, he's gonna appear right behind you, if you have your tornado up and time it correctly you can outplay him with ult and counter all Q's with windwall, making him useless.

Orianna
This is the kind of matchup, where you have to play aggressive and make big trades, because if you play passive, she will just poke you down and force to recall/miss cs. It's really hard to dodge her abilities, even with dashes. Try making trades when her ball is far away from her, when she can't just shield herself. After she throws Q, go in and do as much as you can. Avoid dive'ing her, since she can punish you for that with ultimate, if you hit your tornado under tower, while she's low make sure her barrier isn't up and that you can oneshot her, otherwise it's really risky.
More advanced yasuo tricks
EQ Flash
This trick you use to surprise your enemy with unpredictable and quick knockup. You can also use it to simply get knockup on more targets than you would with tornado, very useful trick.

Q Flash
This trick makes it harder for the enemy to react, because it's really quick. In order to do that you press Q and then flash in direction of the enemy immediately.

You can do the same with tornado.

EQ R
If you hit your tornado or any other teammate uses knockup, you can use your EQ to closest target in order to get more damage before your ult.

Tornado Auto EQ R
This is the strongest burst combo, if your enemy is close to you after hitting your tornado you can autoattack him and then EQ.
