Introduction

AD is a very strong champion if played correctly. In fact, a fed AD Sion can win a fight against multiple people with . In this guide, we will focus mainly on Sion's shield and his AD steroid . I find AD Sion to be very easy to play, even with a laning partner who isn't very supportive. Your ult and shield will make you VERY hard to kill.

Runes

The runes I chose are pretty simple. Armor penetration reds, armor yellows, magic resist blues, and Health Quints. I designed my Sion for early game dominance, and with my runes and masteries Sion is quite durable early. I find that these runes give me the power I need to turn into a complete monster mid to late game. I can farm in peace because most players avoid me.

Masteries

21/9/0, for Crit chance and crit damage modifier, extra % damage, improved exhaust, armor penetration and attack speed in Offense.

In defense, I take 3 points of armor, 1 point of resist, 4 in hp/lvl, and 1 in Veteran's scars for an extra 30 hp.

These masteries allow you to deal significant damage while being able to take some.

Items

The items above are if you are completely stomping the other team. You must realize that you need to change your build based on the composition of the other team. Getting screwed over by Malzahar ult and other pesky disables? is your friend. Need to beef up? and are great on Sion. I do not usually build much health, though, as Sion gets quite a bit of health from last hitting creeps thanks to . To fully use this guide, you must adapt.

Skill Sequence

A passive that isn't that good. Has a chance to block a bit of incoming damage. Don't get me wrong, it's pretty useful early game, but it fades off mid to late game. Nothing special really.

Sion's ranged stun. Use it to secure a kill, or escape. Get one point in this at level 2, but max it last. This is because the stun duration doesn't increase per rank, and this spell never really becomes anywhere near spammable.

Shields, oh how I love shields. This shield absorbs a set amount of damage for 10 seconds, and you can also explode it for some additional damage. That is, if it isn't destroyed first. Use this to heroically block the last tick of or other DOTs. Use it when you're low health so you have time for to heal you back up. Use it combined with to turn an enemy's tower dive into suicide. Use it to kill an enemy that's just out of reach of your melee attack. It's just very useful. We get 1 point at level 3 and we max it second for the increased shield strength.

A very strong AD buff that also gives health every time you kill a creep. FARM FARM FARM. We max this first so we can have very high AD early, and so we can start building up our HP. Each rank increases the AD buff and the amount of maximum health gained per kill. The only downside to this skill is that it takes a small amount of health per hit, which also increases per rank. You can toggle it off if you need to. At level 1 with this build we start out with 97 AD. That's insane. NOTE: You start with this skill toggled off. You must toggle it on after getting the first point in it.

This is what makes Sion so damn hard to kill. 50/75/100% lifesteal and a nice attack speed steroid as well. Not much to explain here. Turn on and watch Sion devastate multiple enemies by himself.

Summoner Spells

Spell #1:

I'm used to using flash on almost every champion. Flash over walls to escape, flash to an enemy to secure a kill. This is really personal preference between and . Ghost is more for marathon chases and escapes. However, with this build you have fairly good movement speed. The choice is up to you.

Spell #2:

The wonders of exhaust. Use it to secure a kill or escape. Exhaust also enhances your ability to take on multiple enemies at once by using it on the highest DPS of the group. Other options are and .

How to use Sion

Stun dangerous targets, use shield to block damage, heal with ulti, keep W on for increased damage. Just bash away at enemies and try to get a lot of last hits. You can initiate or wait for your tank to, either way you are going to wreak havok. Sion is easy to play. Just try to figure out if situations are worth the risk. While Sion is very strong and hard to kill, he is not invincible. Make wise decisions and it will pay off.

Build in action

I will be posting match history with this build as I play games with it. Stay tuned.

Summary

This is my first guide, so please be easy. Please point out any errors and feel free to give suggestions. Try this guide out, I have been very successful.

To summarize:
Build for durability and dominance early through choice of 21/9/0 masteries and Armor pen, defense, magic resist, and health runes.

First major item is phantom dancer for the MS,AS, and critical chance. Then Infinity edge for the extra damage and crit chance, followed by black cleaver. At this point you should be hitting like a truck. Next, get a bloodthirster for the extra damage and sustain, and finish off with a Phantom Dancer if the enemy team has squishies or a last whisper if they are stacking armor.
