Introduction

Yasuo, a high mobility and DPS champion, that is accused for the slainment of his elder, using wind techniques that only Yasuo knew had to use. Now he fights to restore his honor, and return to Ionia.

About Me:
I have been playing this game since 1st of Januaray (2016) (Currently Ranked Gold:3), and I have never played a moba before. So I practiced, alot, and ended up finding Yasuo, a high moblity, with high DPS champion. I knew this was a good pick. I've been studying him via, guides, youtube videos, etc. This guide just combines them all and will hopefully help newer Yasuo players. Any questions just ask in the discussion. Thank you for reading.

Masteries

18/12/0 (Warlords)

Fury :: This is for the extra attack speed to scale with Steel Tempest.

Double Edged Sword :: This is for the risk-reward play style, this will help you duel.

Vampirism :: This is great for sustain in the early game.

Bounty Hunter :: This is for more dueling power, you win a lane, it just makes you win it more.

Battering Blows :: The armor pen. is great on Yasuo, gives you more tank shred.

Warlord's Bloodlust :: When you get in nasty duels, this can help you survive. Also great for sustain.

Savagery :: This is good for early game pressure.

Assassin :: Gives you great dueling power over your mid opponent.

Merciless :: This will secure kills and give you more dueling power.

Dangerous Game :: This allows you to 1v5 carry easier.

When to use: Use this page when you know you are going against a ranged champion and will receive alot of harass. This also is great combined with Phantom Dancer and Sterak's Gage

18/12/0 (Fervor of Battle)

Fury :: This is for the extra attack speed to scale with Steel Tempest.

Double Edged Sword :: This is for the risk-reward play style, this will help you duel.

Vampirism :: This is great for sustain in the early game.

Bounty Hunter :: This is for more dueling power, you win a lane, it just makes you win it more.

Battering Blows :: The armor pen. is great on Yasuo, gives you more tank shred.

Fervor of Battle :: This is my personal favorite now. It gives that extra early game damage and scales well into late game.

Savagery :: This is good for early game pressure.

Assassin :: Gives you great dueling power over your mid opponent.

Merciless :: This will secure kills and give you more dueling power.

Dangerous Game :: This allows you to 1v5 carry easier.

When to use: Use this if you know your going to be putting a lot of pressure on your lane opponent, however, keep your poke constant, so you don't reset your fervor stacks.

12/0/18 (Grasp of the Undying)

Fury :: This is for the extra attack speed to scale with your Q.

Double Edged Sword :: This is for the risk-reward play style, this will help you duel.

Vampirism :: This is great for sustain in the early game.

Bounty Hunter :: This is for more dueling power, you win a lane, it just makes you win it more.

Unyielding :: This is for more sustain and dueling power against your opponent.

Tough Skin :: This is also great for sustain against any melee heavy opponent.

Runic Armor :: This is great with Yasuo's kit, it works with Way of the Wanderer.

Insight :: This is so you get your flash/ignite up for some flashy plays.

Swiftness :: This is so you don't get caught out (as easily) via CC.

Grasp of the Undying :: Main part of this mastery page, this will help you vs. melee combat.

When to use: This page is good when you know you're going to be in a lot of hand-to-hand combat. This will out sustain your opponent, win trades, overall win the lane.

Items

Item Recommendations:

Starting Items:

Doran's Blade is a great starting item, it gives you life steal, health, and attack damage to help with early game pressure.

Doran's Shield is a great starting item if you are new to Yasuo and if you're playing a poke heavy (AD) opponent ex. Zed.

Long Sword is a great starting item agaist AP burst match-ups, it gives you reliable damage early on, and will convent into hex drinker.

Health Potions are great for more sustain, combined with masteries and Doran's Blade you shouldn't have to back until level 6 or when you opponent backs.

Core Items:

Statikk Shiv is a great item for Yasuo, it synchronizes with his passive and enables some of the best wave clearing in the game. Not to mention, it gives you 60% crit and 35% attack speed. Build this item first.

Phantom Dancer is a optional item for Yasuo, it works really well with his Sweeping Blade and gives 45% attack speed, and 60% crit. The damage reduction also works well with life steal and helps you survive nasty duels. Build this instead of Statikk Shiv

Berserker's Greaves, another optimal item for Yasuo, gives him great movement speed to catch those enemies to get your pentakill and gives you some attack speed to decrease your cooldown on your Q. Full build should result in a 1.33 second CD on Q. Build these second.

Boots of Swiftness are another great, yet optional, item for yasuo, it will work good with Sweeping Blade and will help you with not getting kitted. Build these instead of Berserker's Greaves

Infinity Edge is another optimal item for Yasuo, his crits do more damage and he receives 40% more crit to his kit. Combined with Statikk Shiv should result in 100% crit. Build this item third.

Bloodthirster, another optimal item for Yasuo, gives him attack damage, with a lot of life steal to offer insane dueling power. Build this item fourth.

Sterak's Gage is optimal item for Yasuo, it gives him health and more % attack damage, this builds a more bruiser type Yasuo, but you still output a lot of DPS. Build this item fifth.

Guardian Angel is optimal item for Yasuo, only if you are hardcore carrying, this will make you basically unkillable, and should win you the game.

Trinity Force is a great option for Yasuo, gives a more bruiser type Yasuo, and is great combined with Phantom Dancer and scales with Steel Tempest. This is more of a safer option. Build instead of Guardian Angel

Youmuu's Ghostblade is a optional item for Yasuo, this item is great for the AD and its active gives you more dueling / escape potential. It also gives you great armor penetration. Build this item instead of Guardian Angel.

Blade of the Ruined King is a great optional item for Yasuo when the opposing team has many tanky champions. Be sure to get used to using actives, because this one will help you a lot. Build this instead of Guardian Angel

Maw of Malmortius is also a great option item for Yasuo when the opposing team has mostly ability power champions. The lifeline shelid will help you win AP burst duels. Build this instead of Guardian Angel

Abilities

P: Way of the Wanderer

NTENT: Yasuo's critical strike chance is doubled, but his critical strikes deal 90% damage, reduced to 75% damage on Steel Tempest.

RESOLVE: Yasuo generates Flow for when he travels by any means. At maximum Flow, the next instance of champion or monster damage against Yasuo consumes all of his Flow and shields him from damage for up to 1 second.

Yasuo's Intent part of his passive makes Yasuo's kit unique, it doubles critical strike chances, at the cost of damage. His Resolve part of his passive can help him win early game trades and get you out of sticky situations.

Tips for Way of the Wanderer:

-....Using flash or teleport resets flow
-....Using ultimate will reset flow
-....When ignited, flash or run, your shield will save you.

Q: Steel Tempest

ACTIVE: Yasuo thrusts his sword forward, dealing physical damage to all enemies in a line. Steel Tempest can critically strike and will apply on-hit effects to the first enemy hit. Hitting an enemy grants Gathering Storm Gathering Storm for 10 seconds. At 2 stacks, Yasuo's next Steel Tempest is empowered and will consume all stacks.

EMPOWERED: Steel Tempest unleashes a whirlwind that travels an extended distance, dealing the same damage and Airborne icon knocking airborne all enemies hit. Yasuo can cast Steel Tempest during Sweeping Blade to change the area of effect a to circle about him, which does not benefit from Empowered's extended range. The cooldown and cast time of Steel Tempest is reduced by attack speed, down to a maximum 66% reduction.

Yasuo's Q is a great way to get maximum DPS with animation cancels, as well as the empowered Q can set yourself up for a ultimate. Max this ability second.

Tips for Steel Tempest:

-....Try Steel Tempest over raptor pit, you can get a stack and surprise your lane opponent.
-....Try animation cancel, by Q + AA.
-....You can Steel Tempest in your ultimate.

W: Wind Wall

ACTIVE: Yasuo creates a gust of wind that travels forward to form a wall in front of him. The wall slowly drifts forward 50 units over 3.75 seconds, blocking all enemy projectiles with the exception of turret attacks.

Yasuo's windwall is a great way to win trades early game, or even get you/ally out of a nasty situation. Max last.

Tips for Wind Wall:

-....You can use Wind Wall for vision over walls.
-....You can use Wind Wall to block ultimates such as Syndra, Braum, and Sona.
-....You can use Wind Wall to animation cancel your empowered Steel Tempest.
