Introduction

Hello. I am a dia 4 soloq player (euw) and here to bring my own guide on Wukong, the jungle king.

I feel like the current guides on jungle Wukong are quite horrible. There are a few good ones, and the one I quite liked, was in Spanish.

So why should you listen to me? I currently have a 75% winratio on my jungle wu, 30 wins, 10 losses in dia 4-5 ranked games. I know there are much better wu players, so no need to come rub your success in my face, this isn't what I do for a living. This guide is aimed for players who want to improve their jungling with Wukong, yet I think everyone below low-diamond, high-end plat can learn something. I won't be going over the very basics, (sorry new guys), you can read them up from some other guide.

Oh and I want to apologize, I can't be arsed to make this guide pretty and shiny. I am quite lazy.

P.S. If this guide becomes somewhat popular, I might consider adding some additional info / maybe gameplay footage. At the moment, it's just basic, basic stuff.

So here's where most players divide on opinions. I feel like the really high-end players tend to lean towards flat-ad marks, flat armor seals, presumably for early pressure.
I don't really initiate ganks pre-6 so if I can survive the jungle, and possible counterganks with scaling health and armor pen, I feel that is the stronger way. I am looking to carry the game post-6. Also one of the reasons I run all 9 scaling health seals is that I pick up the +5 armor from masteries.

6 cdr glyphs = 5% cdr, I like cdr. I want to get as many rotations off as possible, you could go 9x cdr glyps but sometimes my cdr caps in games (blue buff) and I don't like buying or having worthless stats. 5% cdr from runes, 5% from masteries and the rest is from in-game itemization.

Ad quints, just to go with the armor pen. You need some ad to start with as well.

Feel free to find your own set, the one that works best for you.

Masteries

This is what I like to run, I feel like it syngergizes well with my runes. Why don't I go 21/9/0? I don't think I need the absolute maximum of damage, I'd rather take reduced critical strikes from the enemy adc. I think that mastery point is hugely beneficial to have. I need to be able to take a few hits as Wu, I am neither the tank nor the glass cannon assassin.

Tricks & Tips

Well, there's your basic juking around with your clone. Remember that you clone also blocks skillshots, Morgana Q's etc.

Changing direction when going into stealth also confuses your opponents.

You can perform a 'run up the lane' gank if you buy mobiboots. Just stealth outside their fog of war (takes some time to learn where it is) and run up and eq-ult.

One thing I want to emphasize is that your ganks, if you initiate them, are weakish pre-6. So the best bet is to counter-gank (Requires wards, wards, wards). If you see the enemy jungler getting into position you can communicate a counter-gank with your laner to kick some serious butt. If these opportunities do not arise, dont force-gank anything pre-6, you will just waste resources doing so.

There's not much else to it, at least can't think of anything else at 3am. Juke around with W, people don't give enough respect to the stealth.

REMEMBER that your ult is a game changer. Don't piss it away.
