Well as lame as this sounds, but when I first uploaded my guide I forgot to put the comment to vote for the first twenty and got down voted :( I'm not gonna blame the community because overall the community is pretty oustanding just a couple of bad seeds but its okay its just a guide :D as long as the few people who read it enjoy it I'm fine with that :D

I'm just curious. Why is it that your guide only scale 76% when you have the most votes among us all Wukong Guiders and viewers and not only that, your guide is also good. Hmmmmmm.. I really can't understand this mobafire sickness..lol Anyway I'm just new to this so, whatever the reason, obviously I don't know it yet. lol

I view Wukong as the ideal bruiser. Nice item choices, nice build in general. This quickly catapulted Wukong to my nearly most played champion status. Nice work. Please do update it whenever possible. I feel that without defense masteries, ur wasting all of wukongs potential. However, one thing I would change myself, though I dont think its a big deal. I would take 4 alacrity, and 1 weapon expertise in contrast to 4 in sorcery and 1 in havoc. I feel like the cooldown reduction granted by enlightenment is stable enough to allow him to spam his skills. While the armor pen granted by weapon expertise makes crushing blow even hit the tankiest of Irelia solo top that u know u will face for a good 4th of her life. Just a suggestion, but all in all I believe this should be the top guide. Therefore, you have my vote.

good guide man!! I do have a quick question though.. why do you have 4 Sorcery and 1 point in Havoc ?? wouldn't it be more beneficial to have 4 points in Alacrity and 1 point in Weapon Expertise . I feel that 10% armor pen is a lot more effective than .5% extra damage..

+1, Amazing build, although I'd rather a Force of nature/Warmogs or Thornmail over that of a Randuin's Omen depending who I'm laning against.

Been using this guide since before Wukong got buffed. When he finally did get buffed, I went 21/2/15. Build Warmag's, Atma's, Thornmail, and Force of Nature with a trin force and you become indestructible. I literally got piled by 5 enemies and decoy walked out with 75% health. Pro Monkey is pro.

Hello, InfamousJoker! I really enjoyed reading your guide. I found it to be well written, polite, and to the point; three traits I really appreciate. :) I enjoyed your guide so much, in fact, that I have chosen it for my up and coming article: My top 20 best LoL champ guides, for my blog at www.gettherax.com. Just wanted to let you know. Keep up the great work, I'll be sure to check back!

I think your build is pretty good, but you can't take cooldown in the offensive tree and get percent armor penetration. If you want armor penetration you need to get the attackspeed. If it were possible your decision would be more effective.

I read your guide and it's pretty good.
You have 1 flaw though. You can only get the 10% Armor Pen. If you get The AS.
You have to change the masteries

Great Build! Though I will say one thing quickly about your mastery page, which I don't think you noticed, and that is you can't get Weapon Expertise until you max out Alacrity. Just a quick thing! Other than that, great guide +1!

Alright I see lol. Just seeing this makes me reconsider replacing the Ionian's with Merc's....I forget where I saw the Ionians from in on mobafire, but yeah I was following more of the DMG Guide then their tank guide so that is why I suggested it is from memory and that it has helped me. IDK I might just be crazy lol.

I think there is should be a optional choice of boots between Merc's and Ionian boots. I think that extra cooldown really helps with the skills for say that if you use nimbus much more often then most that CD can help you with that. I don't have a very strong point on what I am saying, but I think it's a viable chcoice. Please do correct me in why you think you are against it if you are. Just a matter of opinion lol.

Very nice guide, works good for me.

I only changed one thing. I dont go for Philosopher's Stone. First I take Meki Pendant and then I build Tear of the Goddess. After Boots +1 I upgrade to Manamune. Gives a nice DMG Boost and mana problems are also solved.

I guess it's more of my play style with Wukong but I prefer to max out Nimbus Strike first as I like to harass my enemies, fly in with Nimbus Strike, land a Crushing Blow, run out. If they try anything, I Decoy. Not only does this deal a huge amount of damage but it also allows whomever I'm laning with to jump in, it's also a great tactic to initiate a team fight or a gank if your jungler is waiting in the bushes. I guess it's more of your opponent not knowing when you're actually going in for a fight or simple another harass. On that note, if they happen to over-extend on you, thinking you're trying to push in, your lane partner can punish them for focusing you..or your Decoy ;) Over all good guide, very in depth. I just read through your Crushing Blow VS Nimbus Strike and had to comment on it.

I do believe that you should add Ionian Boots of Lucidity. It is a complete optional thing, but that extra cooldown may come in handy later on in the game say if you do not have ghost, exhaust, or flash at hand. The extra cd will surely help with some moves and it has pulled me out of some quite tight spot even if I delayed them a few seconds longer for a skill to come back. Or you can always add a frozen heart to the mix of it. It isn't the most beneficial for Wu Kong, but the cd with the armor is a nice combination if your armor weak and if your feeling for a quicker skill return. Though otherwise this is pretty good in what I think. Those two items it is all really optional still very potent with or without it. Just feel it be more active with the skills he uses with the extra cooldown will be more effective + a tad bit more tanky.

Hey man this build wrecks. I played wukong 4 times in past 2 days and ive went

14/5/13
14/7/15
13/2/9
9/6/17

you definitely hit the nail on the head with this build. i used to try someone's AD build and maxing nimbus strike but i noticed i didnt have the sustain and would die rather early in team fights. With this build im first in/last out with a multitude of kills. Even got a quadra with cyclone/amumu ult. Thx alot! Thumbs up for sure

its a great build, i liked it alot, except i didnt use trinity, i used frozen mallet and Ghostblade, ghostblade really vamps up his ult if you use it with it. i pretty much take out the entire team with it.

[-]

Why flat seals and glyphs? It's not worth it to have that extra mr and armor early game and losing out on a lot late game.

[-]
kriS411 | October 15, 2011 2:22am
I like this build, but I purchase a frozen mallet after trinity force.
And after Atma's Impaler I usually go for extra life/defense or some lifesteal.

@ Naonack The problem with replacing merc treads is what other boots would you put there maybe the ionian boots but you really dont need CDR right so why use another slot in your item inventory for miracles when you can get the same tenacity on boots that you'll already have

@Kartoon1st thanks for the reply means a lot. As for Wukong intiating its kinda his job with his skill set since he can blink and lift everyone up to let your team come in and use all there cool downs :X

Kartoon1st | September 17, 2011 11:30am
Have only played 6 games with wukong and I'm in love with him and his versatility. He is not the most heavy AD burst champ, but he is so fun to play i left talon resting to the corner to play with wukong. Been looking for a decent build and so far the only item common to all of these is triforce. Just like with talon, its key asap!

Now I tried your build first today, and I am in love with it! Did 12/7/19 and ended in victory, although our team had a very rough start. A lot of assists, I know, but I felt I had to initiate a lot and werent always able to finish the enemy champs, but I was happy with the outcome. The Q and triforce do crazy damage on their own, and once you get a bit tanky and more AD with atmogs, dang....

Just saying, +1 from me!

Please explain? Mines and UltimatePr0's guide focus on different things he is more bursty and I am more on tanky burst I actually do have a lot of dmg late game you should try the build before posting 3 back to back comments when they could of been just one :) and if you're happy with UltimatePr0s why bother looking around at other wukong guides just a bit curious :X

^Nice results and instead of CDR boots you can get items like Frozen Heart that give you health mana + cdr and get blue to help with CDR but then again thats just because I hate CDR boots on Wukong over mercury.
1
[-]
ImDa1TruG (1) | September 4, 2011 6:54am
joker, just wanted to drop by and say this is one legit guide! I get the CDR boots instead of Mercury for faster harassing and upgrade the Philosopher's stone to Shurelya for the nice lil HP stat boost for Atmas and the movement speed active to chase down some bammas. I'm still experimenting Last Whisper & Youmuu's over Infinity, cause I think the armor pen (speed active with Youmuu's) is more efficent than Infinity. Regardless, thanks again for the guide!

Nice guide. Wukong is my favorite hero I have probably played easily 100 games with him. I am still testing out a bunch of stuff on him but have you tried going philo > boots > sheen > merc treds > warmongs > trinity and so on? In general I like to be a bit more tanky and choose health + mr/armor items but that is just me (my build goes philo > boots > sheen > merc treds > warmongs > trinity > atmas > veil > randuins.) Over all though I do really like your guide.

Its a shame though that wukong is still bugged and isn't that viable atm. But he is so fun and I will always play him. <3

InfamousJoker (12) | August 15, 2011 8:13pm
But why ? Its not even that far off from the build its right after trinity force you get a giants belt then get an atma's impaler than the warmogs you can switch that up if you want but the atma's is to give you more armor because now the enemy team will start focusing you because you can do a huge burst with Trinity Force.
1
[-]
Zukriuchen | August 15, 2011 9:51am
Well bro, I'll try Philo then. Now that I think of it, maybe it's not that bad to get it. I still disagree with getting Warmog's later tho.

@SaucagesFromHeaven it wasnt me who made the template out I am merely just one of the smarter ones to use resources put out by amazing people you should thank jhoijhoi for putting out a template for people to use and you should consider using it for yourself if you ever make a guide :)

@Shrillex

Thanks for the reply hope you had a pleasant time as I have playing Wukong with this build and destroying people out there :D

@Zukriuchen

Ummm why does everyone only see philo as a extra income item? because its amazing health regen/ mp regen allows you to stay in lane FOREVER and the extra income it generates pays for itself 20 minutes during the game within that time period what else would you put besides a philo stone that can help you lane for ever ? Are you going to tell me a dorans blade? That gives you +100 health +10dmg +3 life vamp? How long will that sustain you in lane for? Are you going to say a doran shield? Sure thats a good alternative but it isnt like a philo stone that pays for it self because in 20 minutes you aren't going to be having amazing core items unless you're 50/0/xx. Your next point of sheen before phage? Wukong is pretty tanky and getting sheen before phage allows you to actually be able to burst people and kill people more easily because of its proc. The extra survivability on phage isn't needed yet because you are already tanky I've faced wukong vs wukong where one gets phage first I seem to be able to force him out lane better than he can force me out of lane simply because I am a better player. So phage before sheen seems completely absurd because you simply do not do enough burst. Why would you rush warmogs as fast as possible is it that hard to go into the jungle every once in a while and farm or go to lanes that are pushed up against your's to farm a bit? Its not like I'm getting warmogs at 40 minutes into the game I get it 25-30 minutes into the game so thats plenty of time to still farm.

I had no issues with survivability with sheen before phage and getting warmogs a bit later.
1
[-]
Zukriuchen | August 13, 2011 4:49pm
Not truly a good build. It makes no sense getting Warmog's late, if you're really going to get it then do it as early as possible so you can farm and add to it's stats. Your 2 other mistakes are: getting Sheen before Phage (only 1 of your abilities benefits from AP, and without Phage's survivability you won't even get close enough to use Sheen's passive) and getting Philosopher's Stone (your gold income is already high since you should be killing and farming a lot)

Besides that, I like the idea of a tankier Wukong, that is able to initiate and still do some damage, I also love the Atma's + Warmog's combo. Still, I think you should rework your build a bit.

I personally wouldn't because aegis is better on supports or tank who dont need to get any attack damage items etc... Wukong should just stick to buffing himself up and not have to worry about aura items for his team.

hi InfamousJoker , nice guide and i have something wanna ask, it is gd to build aegis for wukong? seens his passive need more teammate to get more defensive power, so aegie can let the teammate get more def is it a gd item on wukong? (since this is cheap and can get it after tri-force)

@RaggleFraggle I changed the masteries to 0/21/9 to show other ways of putting up your masteries since its really personal opinion. And about the Q + Last whisper it doesn't add like that the way it works is armor x 0.30(Q)= C than C x 0.40(LW)= Armor penetrated
but the problem is I dont know which armor pen the game applies first its either the Q or the LW that goes first

@WTFudge thanks for the compliment and I get that feeling too. Except he isnt such a baby when he beats you with his staff..

I notice for your masteries, you put a point for ghost on your second build which uses ignite and flash. My OCD demands you fix it. Now. :I

I've been wanting to try this build as I like offtanks more than hardcore carries - think it's awesome - will play and vote when I get the IP to buy him.

Oh also, I'm wondering how the Last Whisper works with your Q, does your Q shred 30% then the Last Whisper it's 40%? or do they go together (70%)? In which case it'd be better to just get flat armor penetration then right?

@Maliss summoner spells are for the way you want to play your Wukong I put up options for viable summoner spells

@Whated yeah I dont understand why phage>sheen but right now Wukong is so bugged its not even worth it to try and bother with a build I dont play wukong anymore I'm waiting for him to be fixed before I do anything with this guide or play wukong

@Kowura That is fine and dandy and all but I dont think getting atma's right away after trinity is cost effective because you dont have that much HP to convert and isnt worth the investment yet if you need the armor just get the chain vest and save it for later and then work for a BT so you aren't totally squishy then you can get warmogs then finally change that chain into a atma's then get your Infinity Edge to finish it off thanks for the reply remember to thumbs up :)
1
[-]
Kowura | July 30, 2011 4:23pm
like the build but i'll suggest some minor changes, uo to trinity i do it exaclty like that but then i got atma, BT, then warmog, and finally selling philo to get infinity. just my opinion

Regrowth Pendant, I do not recommend on WuKong.
Philosopher's Stone is not nearly as effective on tanky-dps types as it is on hardcore supports who don't farm, or farm-mad ad-carries who need every bit of gold they can get.

Warmog's Armor... Oh dear, when's the last time I built that item. It's not worth it. There are a ton of more viable items you can make to fuel Atma's Impaler, and health items aren't necessarily even needed for Atma's to be viable. It's not like it only scales with bonus health.

Not having Flash as your recommended spell 100% of the time is a big no-no for WuKong. I learned this the hard way by meeting Nunu at melee range as he casts Absolute Zero... Not fun. And there's another summoner spell you've gravely missed as well.

Your Glyphs could also be better. No one reasonable would choose flat-MR over scaling MR. There's just no need for it that early on in the game.

Frankly, it makes me sad to see this recommended during the 4-day restriction, especially when WuKong is so dam heavily bugged.

edit: Oh, and one last thing.

It is not the job of a tanky-dps to be an anti-tank. The job of all tanky-dps is to hunt down enemy carries and squishies.

Starting items are for anyone to choose I get philo stone for laning power and a nice extra income incase I'm not telling anyone to get it its just what I do so its what I put on my guide. Summoner spells are also based on YOUR play style not MINES i just put spells that I like to use on Wukong that fit MY STYLE not anyone elses MR Glyphs i agree with you there and btw atma's impaler only scales with HP.... dont know what you're smoking oh and btw :) If you're anti tank you're pretty much anti carry... but thanks for the input I rather have someone with some sort of reasoning to down vote my guide than someone who just trolling <3

Hmm can you tell me why you choose archaic knowledge ?? (offense masteries) his skills dont do magic dmg (only decoy) cyclone nimbus and crushing do phisical dmg its mean this masterie is useless, dont you think ? also defensive mastery and strenght of spirit is not good choose cos you have not really much mana so your hp will dont reg really fast and defensive mastery is really needed ? i think better choose will be ardor and harder skin. But thats your build ;) about build i can tell is good choose to rush for trinity. I think you need a lil more mres but if you will choose banshee against philosopher will be fine also you will get more dmg from atma (ofc for the end or when it will be needed). Btw you talk about madreed but you have much hp 2 so magic resist will be needed if some1 will buy madreed to ;). Anyway build is pretty good. Also check my build for wu to and comment plz i know comments like that really helps with make build more powerfull :) Regards Pchelka

1
[-]
BlackPhoenix | July 29, 2011 12:28am
nice build man +1. But i prefer taking glyphs cd per level and a brutaliser .U get a nice CD on your ult wich supports the team a lot more esp if the oposing team has a katarina, malza etc :)

InfamousJoker (12) | July 29, 2011 12:21am

Got a question, Would it be better to use dodge runes since you added the dodge mastery?

That is possible to do so just you'll be sacrificing some early game armor that you need for dodge which could help later on though. But only do so if the team has lots of auto attackers otherwise you need raw armor.

very good build, I've done well with him with a very similar build. One thing i might suggest is taking flash. You don't really need flash to get in and out of fights because you have Nimbus Strike and Decoy, respectively. But when you use your ult you can flash in the middle of spinning, meaning you can move around and hit the whole team if they're not stacked.

Philo stone gives you good lane staying power and allows you to get an extra income of gold incase you werent doing so good with Creep score but later on you sell it. I like that opening better than the standard dorans blade because dorans blade doesnt really work well with Wukong because it only gives him 3% life steal 100 hp an 10 dmg which is much because it doesn't build into anything but a regrowth pendant can go into a philo stone or a future force of nature if you needed to make one. Just my personal taste on starting items tho.

Decent build, I like the Warmogs and Atmas at the end. The only problem is its too late. By the time you can afford a Warmogs at the end of the build its already late in the game, and with 2.2k health at that time, you're going to be dying a lot.

Good point but buying the items in that order is solely up to your discretion and doesnt have to be in the exact same order as I put it but for the second build I'll put a different build order to let people know they can do it differently thank you for the input :)

when riot fixes his q to reduce armor by 30% then it'll be more disputable. after all last whisper will only penetrate 28% of the targets armor after shredded by q.

That's untrue dude. If you want to calculate LW vs Black Cleaver ALONE then you are correct. However what i'm calculating is LW + Q vs Black Cleaver. If I calculate LW + Q vs Q + Black Cleaver then at 80 armor and better LW + Q is better. Before that, Black Cleaver is better. The lowest base armor in the game is Heimerdinger with 61 (highest is Jarvan with 93 if you were wondering). The lowest non dorans/boots armor item is Madred's, with 25 armor. So just getting Madred's puts you over the Black Cleaver limit with the lowest base armor. Jarvan, for example, is already over it. The point is that any carry in the game (or what you call squishies) build at least 1 armor item for defensive purposes (Banshee's and GA are GENERALLY the choices) which means LW actually helps you more then TBC against squishies. The only time TBC is better is before lvl 18 (Jarvan for example hits 80 armor at level 15), and even then LW + Q is still quite good. Not to mention LW is cheaper then TBC so you get it earlier, but I won't go into that.

Also my 1k post :D:D:D:D:D

Get LW instead of Black Cleaver.

Above 65 armor LW penetrates more armor then Black Cleaver.

@Nighthawk I know about that but the thing that draws me to black cleaver is that it gives you attack speed with its armor penetration but it also shreds more armor to squishy target like a black cleaver will OVERALL do more damage to the enemy team than a last whisper what I mean is even tho last whisper will hurt the tank more black cleaver will still take off 45 armor off squishy targets like ashe who lets say have 50 armor and 40% of 50 which is 20 armor shredded off so black cleaver will clearly deal more damage to the enemy team than a last whisper but thats just in my opinion :X But I always add last whisper to the optional item because some people still perfer last whisper over black cleaver which I can also see why.

@Quadias thank you for the reply it means a lot :)

if you think hes cheating the system then report him. we get people signing up all the time that only post a few times, usually just to leave a comment for a guide.

and it was just showing up as a final build item, yeah ok. you can also edit your post so you don't have to double post.

2/3rds of your comments from "different people" who created accounts yesterday? Same day as you? I smell ********. Stop commenting your own build from alt accounts.

this is the build closest to what i play, so an upvote along with recomended.

might i suggest selling philo for a fon? it works perfect on this build which gets 3500 or so health.

and i also right now think last whisper works better than black cleaver for now. however once they fix his q, as it doesn't count armor from items in its reduction, then black cleaver will probably be better.

feel free to use this screenshot.

Nice build. I do like to start of with Philosopher's Stone rather than the doran's blade. More survivability. Thx
