Very easy matchup. You can possibly all-in her level 2, all you need to do is dodge the stun, which would be very easy since you have your e, and gap close to her and it`s an easy trade. No need for hexdrinker unless they have an AP jungler or top laner.
Twisted Fate
Easy matchup, I recommend trading at level 3 since you will have wind wall up and can easily block his gold card/most of his kit. No need to get hexdrinker unless they have an AP jungler or top laner.
Xerath
Fairly easy matchup. Xerath has a lot of skillshots and thanks to Yasuo`s mobility, it can easily be dodged.
Get hexdrinker in this matchup before Zeal.
Aurelion Sol
You can trade when you hit level 2. As soon as Aurelion uses his w, you can immediately gap close and get close to him so his w will have no effect on you. Just be careful of enemy jungler. No need for hexdrinker unless they have enemy AP jungler or top laner.
Ahri
I recommend trading at level 3 because you have windwall so it will help in blocking her charm but level 2 is also fine, as long as you can dodge her charm. Another good thing to note is that her Q does more damage when it`s coming back to her. Try to dodge the whole Q if you can, but always try to dodge the back timing of the Q. No need for hexdrinker unless against an AP jungler or top laner as well.
Katarina
Get hexdrinker in this matchup. Make sure you use your windwall correctly when laning against kat. Either her Q or her ult.
Corki
Check if he`s going mostly ad or ap, if ap, rush hexdrinker. Can windwall many of his skillshots and make sure you respect his early damage.
Orianna
Rush hexdrinker in this matchup. I recommend trading level 2 if she`s bad and puts a point into W after Q, if she take E level 2, I would trade level 3 as you can dodge her Q and W with your E, as well as negate her shield with your W, making it to where she is basically an adc with no ad for a few seconds.
Vel'Koz
Most of Vel`koz`s kit can easily be dodged with Yasuo`s E. No need for hexdrinker unless they have an AP jungler or top laner as well.
Bard
Dodge the Q. That`s pretty much it. The rest of Bard`s kit is kind of useless. People may still go Bard mid just because of his AP damage if he hits his Q, without it he`s useless.
Zed
In this matchup it`s all about landing your Qs and dodging his Qs. Yasuo has the advantage against Zed or ANY melee champion level 1. You can constantly poke Zed with your Q when he tries to cs but if Zed tries to poke you back with his Q, you have a shield so it wouldn`t matter, but be sure that you try to dodge his Q anyways. Always go aggressive when his W is down. Try to predict when he is going to swap to his shadow when trading, usually he will swap when you have a tornado ready. When he ults you, IMMEDIATELY back off from the shadows as his ult ends. Zed`s ult damage increases the more damage you take from zed before it expires.
Anivia
Always be cautious of her egg, know when it`s up and when it`s not. When all-inning her, make sure you dont use ignite (exhaust is fine) otherwise it will be wasted because of her egg. Only ignite her egg, not Anivia when she is alive. Try to set a freeze onto her so when you kill her, hopefully she`ll have to walk so far out that she wont be under tower and you can still kill her. I recommend hexdrinker for this lane.
Annie
Annie is not to hard. You just need to watch for her stun. REMEMBER! Windwall DOES NOT stop her stun! If she uses an ability on you while her stun is up and you windwall it, her passive will not reset. Just wait untill she uses it on a minion and I know it might be boring but it`s what you have to do.
Azir
He might be a little annoying early game because of his soldiers but just keep farming. All inning him is the best option for azir, small trades are not going to do.
Brand
Don`t let him get the stun on you. His E will not stun you unless you have been marked with one of his other abilities. Get hexdrinker for this lane.
Cassiopeia
Her poison is the threat in this lane. When trading with her, make sure you try to dodge her Qs and her W. If your hit with the poison, you immediately lose the fight so just back off. I recommend hexdriker for this matchup.
Cho'Gath
Not too hard but still doable. Q: Can easily be dodged. W: Can easily be dodged if you E behind him. Just have to play this lane a little safe and get kills before you or him hits 6.
Diana
Windwall her Q at all costs and take only short trades with her. Her shield is your biggest enemy so dealing damage to her before she can use her shield is the best option. Play safe when she hits 6.
Ekko
Poke with Q level one when he tries to go for cs. Winwall his Q because that is his main damage. Don`t let him get 3 stacks on you. When you hear the sound of his W, immediately back off. If you get stunned your kind of screwed. Also, dont try to trade him when he has his shield. Always be cautious of where his Ult clone is. It deals magic damage to anyone near it when he ults.
Akali
For Akali you must windwall her Q at ALL costs. Her Q cooldown is short, so you want to use that time to trade. Be careful once she hits level 6.
Ezreal
Windwall literally everything. Push him under tower so his Q, which does the most damage from his kit, is useless.
Kayle
Take exhaust for this matchup, the reason is because ignite will not kill her because of her W and that she will most likely take barrier. She will zone you out with her E but that is k, as soon as her E is down, IMMEDIATELY go in for a trade.
LeBlanc
To lane against LB properly, you have to know her most dangerous ability and that is her E. You will either have to windwall, dodge, or get out of range if it hits you. When her E is down, that is you green light to trade with her. I recommend going Hexdrinker for this matchup.
Jax
Dodge his E as it will stun you and let him do the most damage. That`s really all you have to do to get good trades with Jax. Just know the range of his E. Make sure you poke him down and zone him with your Q in the laning phase.
Talon
it`s really easy to trade with champions when ALL they`re abilities have no effect on you right? With Talon, it`s the same thing. Talon will most likely use his Q on a minion for cs and an auto attack reset. Once he uses his Q you can trade with him. He will then try running away and throw his W out. Talon`s W backing animation is the part where the damage comes from, meaning that`s the part you want to windwall, same with his ultimate. Make sure you poke him Level 1 and zone him out.

Yasuo is a very hard champion to master, but once you do, it is very fun and easy to win lane and get more kills. I enjoy Yasuo very much because he requires skill to play and he has a very good late game but cannot fall behind in the early game.

Against Melee Champions, make sure you poke them down with your Q in early game and deny them CS. This will get their health low and bully them out of lane. If they foolishly continue to try to CS, keep poking them down, then hit level two and immediately go for the easy kill.
Against Ranged Champions: Do not try to poke down with Q or you will get kited. Play passively and get level 2 as soon as possible, they will try to deny you CS but that is ok. The best thing to do in this situation is to get level two before they do, which can be done by staying two-three minion kills ahead of them, then immediately go for a trade.

Team fighting with Yasuo will be based on how you use Yasuo`s Ult. Many players use his ultimate wrong by wasting it on low priority targets. Low priority targets are champions that fall into the following scenarios.
[*] NEVER use your ultimate on tank champions
[*] Don`t use your ultimate on champions that will die anyway because your team is already killing them. The enemy champion will die even if you don`t use your ultimate on them.
High priority targets are the enemy team`s carrys. Although you must use them on carrys, that does not mean you should use your ultimate on JUST the carry. If possible, use your knockup on as many people as possible as long as it has one priority target in it. This can be done by repositioning yourself either for a knockup with your tornado, or a a knockup with your E-Q combo which should get 2-3 champions ready to be ulted.
