Introduction

Hey guys! Welcome to my Zed guide.

Most of you know Zed as an in, get the kill, and get out type of assassin. But, what you don't know is that not only can you go into a team-fight, kill the carry, and get out completely unscathed, you can split-push and get objectives for your teammates as well. Today I will be introducing you to a completely new style and build for Zed, and I hope you guys enjoy it.

Runes

This rune page is very basic, and I don't use anything particularly fancy. Lifesteal quints are optional, but in my opinion they're not worth what they cost anymore. Flat AD quints would be your best option.
I used to have flat AD reds, flat armor yellows, flat MR blues, but I'm slowly changing over to armor pen reds, and half scaling CDR blues and MR blues thanks to advice from a challenger Zed main.

Masteries

For our masteries, we have the typical 21/9/0. What I must stress to use is the "Executioner" mastery, as it procs with Zed's passive "Contempt For The Weak"

Contempt For The Weak:
Whenever Zed auto attacks an enemy below 50% health, he deals an additional 6 / 8 / 10% of their maximum health as magic damage. The amount is increased at level 7 and at level 17. This effect cannot occur on the same target more than once every 10 seconds.

Executioner:
Increases damage dealt to champions below 50% by 5%

Not only does this majorly come in handy if you're not that great at last hitting, but the auto attacks on champions with low HP will (literally) be deadly.

Items

Most people tend to go for the BOTRK rush, but since the nerfs I've been trying different builds and this is the one that I personally got the best results with.
Instead of the BOTRK slow that you can use along with your ult, the hydra gives massive wave clear, and major burst with, and without using your ult.
The Youmuu's allows massive split-push potential with incredible tower siege, along with being able to clear Dragon, Buffs, and Baron quicker due to the attack speed buff with its active. The Last Whisper is almost mandatory, because by this point in the game, the enemy team should be buying armor if you've played the game right. Then of course, the GA for extra pro-longed life during teamfights, especially if you're getting focused. Along with the active, having extra armor and magic resist is definitely a bonus.

Skill Sequence

I explained this up in the skill sequence, but I tend to level E second rather than W. Unless you plan on needing an early getaway, I see no reason to get W second.

Creeping / Jungling

Last hitting should be very easy with Zed. Along with Hydra, and the Executioner mastery, you should have the highest CS out of everybody in the entire game, which is another reason why this build is one of my absolute favorites. Even if you're behind KDA wise, nothing a little extra farm can't make up!

Summary

Overall this build is good not only in the mid lane, but top lane as well. Use the items to your advantage and siege objectives, because you definitely have the ability to do so! With the amount of mobility you have, and burst, even if you get caught out you could still sneak your way through the entire enemy team. Best of luck, summoners!
