she has just as much mobility as you do, if you can avoid your charm you can harass her down and ult her once she is low, it is recommended you immediately W behind her as she will most likely ult backwards
Akali
pre 6 your harass is much much bigger and your only problem is her shroud, it is recommended to keep a pink in your inventory just in case against her, other then that, be aware of her burst at 6 and you'll be fine with just harassing and go all in once she is low enough that she can't vamp it all back
Annie
annie can be quite annoying to play against, as with her ult and W, her stun is instant and needs you to read her movement, it is recommended to rush a hexdrinker against her and merc traids so you can survive her burst
Anivia
she is squishy, but she has her egg passive and if she stuns you, her E will hurt a lot so just harass her when you can and keep moving.
Brand
brand can be quite a strong lane bully but if you can ult him when he ults you, his ult will vanish, since he has 2 skill shots that will deal most of his damage, use your mobility wisely and you'll be fine
Cassiopeia
stay out of her poison and you'll be fine, when you ult her, either quickly turn around or place your W behind her and swap immediately to avoid her ult as it will stop you if it stuns you.
Diana
a good diana will harass you back everytime you harass her, and due to her shield she will be really tanky. be cautious against her and ask for ganks, your 6 might be stronger in quick bursts, but don't let her stack her passive
Fiddlesticks
fiddle is the perfect anti-assassin midlaner against most of them, he might be really squishy, but if you jump on him, he'll just fear you, silence you and drain you. this is a complete farm lane. ask for your junglers help
Fizz
if you have good reactions, you can dodge his ult, other then that, this is a lane that can go both ways depending on who gets the advantage, you should try to harass him and wait with your ult untill he has ulted you to dodge it.
Heimerdinger
heimer is the perfect anti-melee champion due to his turrets, just farm as much as you can here and avoid his harass, only go on him when your jungle is ganking, everytime he goes away, grab his turrets and shove the wave into his turret.
Karthus
after the ult changes, zed can pretty easily kill karthus as he can easily get away from him after you killed him.
Kassadin
the new kassadin is a big lane bully against melee's as he can just keep Q'ing you and W to get mana back. this match-up all depends on how good you can time your ult to go along with his ult
Katarina
this should be a walk in the park, everytime she jumps on you, just E her back and AA if you can, if she ults you, ult her, you'll negate a big part of her damage this way and return your own.
Kayle
people view kayle as the biggest assassin counter there is, but she isn't as strong against most of them people think, just harass her down, she'll run oom after a while and this is when you go all in, bait out her ult with a fake all in and go back when her ult goes away
LeBlanc
her combo can be near instant, but if you can survive it, you can kill her, try to ult as her Q is on it's way to you and use your mobility to dodge her W and E, still, this can be a bad match-up which you want to avoid
Lissandra
lissandra is squishy, this is why you can still win, all you have to do is not all in her to hard, NEVER dive her with her ult up. just as with kayle, try to bait it out and then kill her
Lulu
lulu has everything she needs to stop you, her W will make it that you can't do damage while your mark is active, her E will shield her from damage, and her R is the biggest problem you have, avoid this match-up at all costs
Lux
lux is a lane bully, but defenseless once you get to her, just ult her and unleash your combo, other then that, move alot so she can't E you so easily
Malzahar
malzahar is a strong 1v1'er, one of the hardest to deal with 1v1, get your jungler with you, his 1v2 is terrible and he has no escape. other then that, farm and roam.
Nidalee
nidalee will try to make this lane a farm lane, as she will always do
Orianna
Orianna will, just like nidalee, make it a farm lane so just harass her, but be carefull, unlike Nidalee, you cannot take her to lightly, her Q>W WILL hurt so just keep moving and stay out of your minions so she has to choose between harassing and farming
Syndra
her lvl 6 is known to be the strongest in Midlane, you cannot take her lightly and need to be carefull as she WILL hurt at all stages of the game. harass her and farm. go in when she has used her scatter the weak.
Talon
talon can be annoying, as he can ult when you ult him, making it harder to continue on him and he can return a lot of damage, take care, his harass in lane is weak due to only being able to use his W and going oom, but his all-ins will be stronger then yours for the majority of early game
Twisted Fate
generally, you will have the advantage, TF will most likely try to farm and push early so just shove back and harass him, move alot so he can't hit you with his Q that easily, but be carefull, TF can snowball harder then Zed can, so if he gets 2 kills, don't try to all in him unless you are sure you can win
Veigar
veigar's early is terrible, he has next to no damage and will need to use his Q to farm, not harass, you can dodge his E with your ult and W. just play really aggro against him and punish him for every time he uses his stun. but be carefull, just like TF, Veigar can snowball harder then you might expect
Vel'Koz
Vel'Koz is pretty easy, his Q get's stopped by minions and you can easily dodge his W and E, and when he ults, get behind him and laugh
Viktor
viktor can be quite annoying, you need to be carefull of his W and not stand in it. it's might be better to bait out his W and then ult him, also, try to stay out of his ult as the damage will add up
Xerath
xerath can be pretty strong with his Q poke and will hurt if he hits his ult, but him ulting means he stands still so you can easily hit your Q and nuke him down
Yasuo
Yasuo v Zed is a skill match-up that i give in to Yasuo having the advantage, as he can use his wall and E to dodge your Q and his E>Q>E poke can be quite annoying to deal with. just avoid his knock and farm, you scale just as strong as yasuo and can kill him in a second late game
Ziggs
ziggs will keep throwing Q's, but bad ziggs will go oom doing it, meaning you can easily punish him, good ziggs however won't go oom that fast. in this case you will need to harass him like a madman, this will mean that you won't have your W if you get ganked, so buy alot of wards in this case
hi, my name is Maestroke and i am currently Gold 2. my favorite champion is Zed and since the Bork changes in patch 4.10, i decided to try a different road which i really liked, the Hydra>Youmuu's combo might be more expensive, but it will allow you to stick to targets and deal a lot of damage, Bork is still worth getting on Zed imo, but just not as first item. so i decided to make a Zed guide to see what you all think of this build path. This is my first guide so bare with me
Runes
Runes
the runes are quite standard, AD marks, AR seals, MR/LVL glyphs and AD quints. the glyphs can be swapped out for Flat MR or CDR if you prefer that. i recommend not taking AR pen on Zed as he scales really strong with AD due to a 1.0 bonus AD ratio on his Q, 1.0 AD ratio on his ult and a 5%-25% bonus AD increase on his W
Masteries
Masteries
his Masteries are standard 21-9 runes i like on every AD champ that goes with CDR. nothing special in here.
Items
Items
now here gets the reason i made this guide, before patch 4.10, you would just buy cutlass > Brut > Bork, but with the bork changes, making it an item around AA and not bursting, zed's damage with the bork route got nerfed, this is why i tried Hydra > youmuu's. these 2 items were always really populair on zed because of the actives but now i get them as my first 2 items. the only problem this build path has is that it's spike is at 3300+2700+=6k gold instead of 3200+1337+=4537. because of this i recommend that if you fall behind you still get Bork as it allows you to stay more relevent due to an earlier spike. the difference of 1463 gold is not that big though so you won't be set behind that much.
Pros / Cons
Pros / Cons
i'm going to talk about the pros and cons of this item path and the pros and cons of zed in general here, as the item path is why i made this guide:
pros/cons of Zed:
+ High mobility
+ High damage
+ High Juke potential
+ 1 of the best 1v1'ers
+ strong pusher
+ able to clean up big time
+ has a strong early and a strong late
+ low skill floor
+ fun to play
+ great roaming possibilities
- CC wrecks him
- is rather bad at team fighting
- High skill cap
- the heal and exhaust changes are quite annoying for him
- when behind, it's hard for him to catch up
- easily to get out of energy with early
pros/cons for this item path:
+ More damage after the Bork active nerf
+ better wave clear
+ easy to stack a lot of AD with due to having 1 pick and 4 long swords in it's building path
- higher build cost
- makes it harder to deal with tanks untill LW
