Introduction

Hello people!

This is my guide for those of you who want to try this extremly fun champion to dominate your lane!
Zyra support is in my opinion a very strong support. She offers a lot of lane control, CC and a very good teamfighting presence.

BTW, this is my first time writing a guide.

Pros / Cons

Pros:
Great damage
Great CC
Teamfight presence
Good early game/good when invading
Catching Potential
Can carry hard

Cons:
Squishy
Hard time if lane is failing

Runes

For runes I use a mix of survivability and damage.

For marks I use flat armor runes This is pretty standard for supports because we ranged supports are very squishy, and Zyra is no exception.
If you want more damage, you can go magic pen. This will make you a little bit more squishy!

Flat armor seals for the same reasons as above.
You could go mana regen seals if you want mana regen, beacue if you spam your spells you will go oom very quick. But after you have philo stone it shouldnt be a problem.

For glyhps you should go flat mr og mr per lvl.
you could go flat AP, but i do not reccomend this.

For quints I take flat AP. This will give you a lot more damage! I would never go gold per 10 on zyra support because it is just so fun to do TONS OF DAMAGE!

Masteries

Now in season 3 we have a completely new talent tree. Some previous masteries were changed, removed or they just got moved futhure down, and we have new masteries!

The starting cookie is just fun to have, and you get a free sight ward which last for 1 min. (I like to plant this in the opponents brush early)

Pickpocket is also a very fun talent, i have a lot of fun with it, just be careful you dont get too gready.

Get defensive masteries because you are really squishy.

Items

Start with faery charm and crystalline flask. You can still go regular pots and go a few extra wards. Choose yourself what you think is best.

Get philo stone

Since heart of gold is gone, you buy kages next

Get the sightstone and try to upgrade it fast into ruby sightstone. this should replace your wards further into the game.

Buy boots at this point if you feel like it.

Now you have some opions. you can get Aegis>Bulwark, upgrade kages (only if you want) into shard of true ice, shurelias, this new item called Mikael's Crucible(only if your adc goes out of position and gets stunlocked)

Lane matchups

Zyra works great with aggressive AD carrys. Graves, Corki, Draven, Ezreal and MF. Winning the early game will help your team immensly. You can start roaming and pick up kills in other lanes.
Having a decent communication with your laning pratner is very good. If you play with a random you can tell him that when you hit with your E, he will follow up.

Laning Phase

Lvl 1 you should play passive depending on who you are laning with. You should wait for lvl 3 beacue then you can go really aggressive with your E+W combo and Q if you hit the enemy. This will do a lot of damage and usually your opponent wont notice your plants and they do quite a lot of damage aswell. Keep this up and you will win your lane.

Post 6 you will just own your enemy. Put down your ulti when you hit with your E and your AD carry will to the rest. Zyra is also very good at preventing ganks. Turn around and E+W and they will have a hard time catching up to you.

When you combo your E+W, make sure that you cast E first then pop your plants up. If you do this, they will have a hard time predicting where you will place your plants.(This might take some practise)
When you use your plants, they will push your lane and they might take some farm from your AD carry, but this should not be a very big problem.

Make sure to ward deep aka river by dragon and in tribrush. Warding enemys brush is also smart if you want to prevent lane ganks and have control over the enemys every move.

Teamfights

In teamfights you should try to hit as many targets with your ult as possible. Get your plants off before you ult so they can benefit greatly off of it.
Protect your AD carry if you manage to. If you don't like your AD carry just let him do his own thing while you assist your team.

When you get Shurelia you can help your team engage and chase down enemies aswell as getting away from bad situations.

Summary

Zyra is by far one of my favorite supports. If you follow my tips on Zyra, you should be able to dominate your lane and sometimes you will find yourself carrying the game. You need some practise with her to get very good. Winning is easier if your bottom lane gets fed.
Good luck people!
